Between the time when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the night prayer till the dawn broke, he used to pray eleven rak'ahs, uttering the salutation at the end of every two and observing the witr with a single one, and during that he would make a prostration about as long a one of you would take to recite fifty verses before raising his head. When the mu'adhdhin finished making the call for the dawn prayer, he stood up and prayed two short rak'ahs, then he lay down on his right side till the mu'adhdhin came to him (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1336)   

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِيمَا بَيْنَ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ إِلَى أَنْ يَنْصَدِعَ الْفَجْرُ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُسَلِّمُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَيُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ وَيَمْكُثُ فِي سُجُودِهِ بِقَدْرِ مَا يَقْرَأُ أَحَدُكُمْ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً فَإِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ  

[Machine] "Narrated Ibn Umar that he used to say: 'Whoever prays at night, let him make Witr as his last prayer. For indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that. And when dawn comes, all the night prayers and Witr are gone. For indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Perform Witr before dawn.'  

أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى بِاللَّيْلِ فَلْيَجْعَلْ آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ وِتْرًا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِذَلِكَ فَإِذَا كَانَ الْفَجْرُ فَقَدْ ذَهَبَتْ كُلُّ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ وَالْوَتْرُ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَوْتِرُوا قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ  

[Machine] Ibn Umar used to say: "Whoever prays at night, let him make the Witr prayer his last prayer. For the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that. So, when it is dawn, the night prayer and the Witr are gone. For the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Perform the Witr prayer before dawn.'" (Sahih)  

أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى اللَّيْلَ فَلْيَجْعَلْ آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ وِتْرًا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِذَلِكَ فَإِذَا كَانَ الْفَجْرُ فَقَدْ ذَهَبَ كُلُّ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ وَالْوِتْرُ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَوْتِرُوا قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ» صحيح  

[Machine] Ibn 'Umar used to say: "Whoever prays at night should make his last prayer odd number of units, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that. When dawn breaks, the night prayer and the witr prayer are no longer valid, because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Perform the witr prayer before dawn.' And in another narration: 'Perform the witr prayer with the dawn prayer.'"  

أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَلْيَجْعَلْ آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ وِتْرًا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِذَلِكَ فَإِذَا كَانَ الْفَجْرُ فَقَدْ ذَهَبَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالْوِتْرُ؛ لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْوِتْرُ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ الْفَحَّامِ قَالَ أَوْتِرُوا بِالْفَجْرِ  

[Machine] "I entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque and found a man who was constantly prostrating. I felt the urge to do the same. When he finished, I asked him, 'Do you know if you are leaving upon completion of a supererogatory act or an obligatory act?' He replied, 'I do not know, for Allah knows best.' Then he said, 'My beloved, Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ , informed me that whenever a servant prostrates to Allah, Allah elevates them in rank, removes a sin from them, and writes a good deed for them.' I asked, 'May Allah have mercy on you, please inform me of who you are.' He replied, 'I am Abu Dhar, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' Then he came closer to me."  

دَخَلْتُ بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ فَوَجَدْتُ فِيهِ رَجُلًا يُكْثِرُ السُّجُودَ فَوَجَدْتُ فِي نَفْسِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ أَتَدْرِي عَلَى شَفْعٍ انْصَرَفْتَ أَمْ عَلَى وِتْرٍ؟ قَالَ إِنْ أَكُ لَا أَدْرِي فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يَدْرِي ثُمَّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي حِبِّي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ ثُمَّ بَكَى ثُمَّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي حِبِّي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ ثُمَّبَكَى ثُمَّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي حِبِّي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً وَكَتَبَ لَهُ بِهَا حَسَنَةً قَالَ قُلْتُ أَخْبِرْنِي مَنْ أَنْتَ يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ؟ قَالَ أَنَا أَبُو ذَرٍّ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَتَقَاصَرَتْ إِلَيَّ نَفْسِي  

[Machine] I entered the mosque of Damascus and saw a man who was frequently performing bowing and prostration. I said to myself, "I will not leave until I see whether he moves to the next two cycles of prayer or continues with another one." When he finished, I said, "O Abdullah, did you move to the next two cycles of prayer or continue with another one?" He replied, "Truly, I do not know. But indeed, Allah knows." Then he said, "I have heard my beloved friend, Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ , say, 'Whenever a servant prostrates to Allah, Allah elevates him by a degree and removes a sin from him.'" I asked, "Who are you, may Allah have mercy on you?" He said, "I am Abu Dhar." At that moment, I lost consciousness.  

دَخَلْتُ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ يُكْثِرُ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ قُلْتُ لَا أَخْرُجُ حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ أَيَدْرِي هَذَا عَلَى شَفْعٍ يَنْصَرِفُ أَمْ عَلَى وِتْرٍ؟ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قُلْتُ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ أَعَلَى شَفْعٍ تَدْرِي انْصَرَفْتَ أَمْ عَلَى وِتْرٍ؟ فَقَالَ إِنْ أَكُ لَا أَدْرِي فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَدْرِي ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ خَلِيلِي أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً» قُلْتُ مَنْ أَنْتَ رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ؟ قَالَ أَنَا أَبُو ذَرٍّ قَالَ فَتَقَاصَرَتْ إِلَيَّ نَفْسِي  

[Machine] "I swear by Allah, I will not leave until I see whether he prefers to depart on an even rakah or an odd rakah." So when the man departed, he said to him, "O Abdullah, do you know whether you left on an even rakah or an odd rakah?" He replied, "No, I do not know, for Allah knows. Indeed, I heard my beloved, Abu Al-Qasim, peace and blessings be upon him, say, and he wept and then said, "Indeed, I heard my beloved, Abu Al-Qasim (PBUH), say, 'There is no servant who prostrates to Allah in a prostration except that Allah elevates him by it a level and removes from him a sin.' So Al-Ahnaf ibn Qais said, 'Who are you, may Allah have mercy on you?' He said, 'Abu Dhar.' So I restrained myself from what had happened to me in relation to him."  

وَاللهِ لَا أَبْرَحُ حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ عَلَى شَفْعٍ يَنْصَرِفُ أَمْ عَلَى وِتْرٍ قَالَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ الرَّجُلُ قَالَ لَهُ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ هَلْ تَدْرِي عَلَى شَفْعٍ انْصَرَفْتَ أَمَ عَلَى وِتْرٍ؟ قَالَ أَلَّا أَكُونَ أَدْرِي فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَدْرِي إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ خَلِيلِي أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَامُهُ يَقُولُ ثُمَّ بَكَى ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ خَلِيلِي أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً قَالَ فَقَالَ الْأَحْنَفُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ مَنْ أَنْتَ يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ؟ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ فَتَقَاصَرَتْ إِلَيَّ نَفْسِي مِمَّا وَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي عَلَيْهِ  

[Machine] The prayer is ordained as two units, except for Maghrib prayer which is ordained as three units, because it is the Witr prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the initial prayer (when traveling) as two units, except for Maghrib prayer, and when he stayed, he would add two units to each unit except for Maghrib prayer, because it is the Witr prayer, and Fajr prayer because he would prolong the recitation in it.  

فُرِضَتِ الصَّلَاةُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ إِلَّا الْمَغْرِبَ فُرِضَتْ ثَلَاثًا لِأَنَّهَا وِتْرٌ قَالَتْ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَافَرَ صَلَّى الصَّلَاةَ الْأُولَى إِلَّا الْمَغْرِبَ فَإِذَا أَقَامَ زَادَ مَعَ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ إِلَّا الْمَغْرِبَ لِأَنَّهَا وَتْرٌ وَالصُّبْحَ لِأَنَّهُ يُطَوِّلُ فِيهَا الْقِرَاءَةَ  

[Machine] The prayer consists of two units of prayer, except for Maghrib, which consists of three units. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the first prayer while traveling, and when he stayed, he would add two units of prayer with each unit of prayer, except for Maghrib, because it is an odd number. As for Fajr, the recitation is longer in it.  

الصَّلَاةُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ إِلَّا الْمَغْرِبَ فُرِضَتْ ثَلَاثًا وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَافَرَ صَلَّى الصَّلَاةَ الْأُولَى وَإِذَا أَقَامَ زَادَ مَعَ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ إِلَّا الْمَغْرِبَ لِأَنَّهَا وِتْرٌ وَالصُّبْحُ تَطُولُ فِيهَا الْقِرَاءَةُ هَكَذَا  

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said: The evening prayer is a part of the daytime prayer, so perform the evening prayer along with it. And the night prayer should be offered in odd numbers of units, and the witr prayer is a single unit at the end of the night."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ وَصَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ  

[Machine] "Regarding the Prophet ﷺ, he said, the Maghrib prayer is the "Witr" prayer for the day, so perform the night prayer."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ النَّهَارِ فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ  

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "The Maghrib prayer is the Witr (odd numbered) prayer of the daytime, so perform the prayer of the night."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ النَّهَارِ فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "The Maghrib prayer is Witr (odd) of the daytime prayers, so perform the night prayer." It was narrated by Ash'ath.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ» أَرْسَلَهُ أَشْعَثُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Maghrib prayer is the equivalent of the Daytime prayer, so perform the Night prayer."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ»  

"صَلاةُ المَغْربِ وَترُ صَلاةِ النَّهار، فَأوْتِر صَلاةَ اللَّيلِ".  

[Machine] The translation of the given text into English is: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eight rak'ahs (units of prayer) at night, then he would add three rak'ahs for Witr prayer, and he would also pray two rak'ahs of Fajr prayer.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَيُوتِرُ بِثَلاثٍ وَيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ  

[Machine] The translation of the given text into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eight units of voluntary prayers at night, then he would shorten it to odd numbers and perform two units of prayer while sitting."  

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَيُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray ten rak'ahs at night, then he would perform the witr prayer with one rak'ah, then he would perform the two rak'ahs of the dawn prayer.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ عَشَرَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ يُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray ten units of night prayer, then perform one unit of Witr prayer, and then pray the two units of the dawn prayer.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ عَشَرَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ يُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ»  

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said, 'It is the prayer, from it there is an even number and from it there is an odd number.'"  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ هِيَ الصَّلَاةُ مِنْهَا شَفْعٌ وَمِنْهَا وَتْرٌ  

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, regarding his saying ﷻ "And the Shaf' and the Witr" he said, "They are both part of the prayer."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷻ وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ فَقَالَ هِيَ الصَّلَاةُ مِنْهَا شَفْعٌ وَمِنْهَا وَتْرٌ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was asked about "Ash-Shafi' and Al-Witr" [Al-Fajr 3], he said, "They are both parts of the prayer."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ {الشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ} [الفجر 3] فَقَالَ «هِيَ الصَّلَاةُ مِنْهَا شَفْعٌ وَمِنْهَا وَتْرٌ»  

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the shafa'ah (intercession) and the witr (odd-numbered prayer), so he said, 'It is the prayer, some of which is shafa'ah and some of which is witr.'"  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ فَقَالَ «هِي الصَّلَاةُ مِنْهَا شَفْعٌ وَمِنْهَا وَتْرٌ»  

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said regarding the prayers of Shaf' and Witr: 'It is prayer, from which some are Shaf' (even in number) and some are Witr (odd in number)."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فِي الشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ «هِي الصَّلَاةُ مِنْهَا شَفْعٌ وَمِنْهَا وَتْرٌ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Tahajjud prayer with five prostrations, without sitting in between them, until he sat after the fifth prostration and then said the Salam.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِخَمْسِ سَجَدَاتٍ لَا يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَهُنَّ حَتَّى يَجْلِسَ فِي الْخَامِسَةِ ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمَ  

[Machine] The translation of the given Arabic sentence into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform five Rak'ahs of voluntary prayer (Tahajjud) and would not sit down in any of the five units except in the last one, he would sit and then make the Salam (the final salutation)."  

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ بِخَمْسٍ لَا يَجْلِسُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَمْسِ إِلَّا فِي آخِرِهِنَّ يَجْلِسُ ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray in the room while I was in the house, and he would separate between the two units of prayer with a tasleem (saying "As-Salamu Alaykum") that we could hear.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي الْحُجْرَةِ وَأَنَا فِي الْبَيْتِ فَيَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ بِتَسْلِيمٍ يُسْمِعُنَاهُ  

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to separate between the two prostrations in prayer and the odd units."  

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوِتْرِ»  

[Machine] The translation of the given text, «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوِتْرِ بِتَسْلِيمٍ يُسْمِعُنَاهُ», into English is: "The Messenger of Allahﷺ used to separate between the two units of prayer of Ishaa (night prayer) and the odd-numbered prayer (Witr) with a audible Tashahhud (salutation)."  

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوِتْرِ بِتَسْلِيمٍ يُسْمِعُنَاهُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform the voluntary night prayer (Tahajjud) with the Tasbih (glorification) of the name of your Highest Lord.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform the voluntary prayer of Witr by reciting "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la", which means "Glory be to your Lord, the Most High."  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the Tahajjud prayer at the beginning of the night, in the middle of it, and at the end of it.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَوْسَطَهُ وَآخِرَهُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer at the beginning, middle, and end of the night.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَوْسَطَهُ وَآخِرَهُ  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Witr at the beginning of the night, in the middle and at the end, then he settled on praying Witr at the end of the night.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ فِي أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَفِي أَوْسَطِهِ وَفِي آخِرِهِ ثُمَّ ثَبَتَ لَهُ الْوَتْرُ فِي آخِرِهِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to perform the Witr prayer at the beginning, end, and middle of the night.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُوتَرُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ وَآخِرَهُ وَأَوْسَطَهُ»  

[Machine] It was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer at the beginning, middle, and end of the night.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَوْسَطَهُ وَآخِرَهُ  

"عَنْ أَبِى مَسْعُودٍ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ يُوتِر مِنْ أَوَلِ اللَّيْلِ وَأَوْسَطِهِ وآخِرِهِ".  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said: "Indeed, Allah has forbidden upon my nation (ummah) alcohol, gambling, intoxicants, fortune-telling, idols, and he has increased for me the prayer of witr (an odd-numbered prayer in the night). He said: 'The qinnin increases the barabit"  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْخَمْرَ وَالْمَيْسِرَ وَالْمِزْرَ وَالْكُوبَةَ وَالْقِنِّينَ وَزَادَنِي صَلَاةَ الْوَتْرِ قَالَ يَزِيدُ الْقِنِّينُ الْبَرَابِطُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has prohibited my Ummah from consuming alcohol, gambling, hunting with trained dogs, and statues. And He has enjoined upon me the Witr prayer."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْخَمْرَ وَالْمَيْسِرَ وَالْمِزْرَ والْقِنِّينَ وَالْكُوبَةَ وَزَادََنِي صَلَاةَ الْوَتْرِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has forbidden my Ummah (community) from consuming alcohol, gambling, impure slaughtered animals, and al-Kubba and al-Ghubayra, and He has increased me with the obligation of performing the Witr prayer."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْخَمْرَ وَالْمَيْسِرَ وَالْمُزْرُ وَالْكُوبَةَ وَالْغُبَيْرَاءَ وَزَادَنِي صَلَاةَ الْوِتْرِ»  

"إِنَّ الله تَعَالى حَرَّمَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْخمْرَ والْمَيسِرَ وَالْمِزْرَ ، وَالْكُوبَة وَالْغُبَيراءَ؛ وَزادَنِى صَلاةَ الْوتْرِ".  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah, the Almighty, has increased you in prayer and it is the Witr (odd) prayer."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَدْ زَادَكُمْ صَلَاةً وَهِيَ الْوَتْرُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah, the Almighty, has prescribed for you an additional prayer, which is Witr."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَدْ زَادَكُمْ صَلَاةً وَهِيَ الْوَتْرُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has added to you a prayer, so preserve it, and He has made its time from the period between Isha and Fajr, and it is Witr."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ زَادَكُمْ صَلَاةً فَحَافِظُوا عَلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ وَقْتَهَا فِيمَا بَيْنَ الْعِشَاءِ إِلَى الْفَجْرِ وَهِي الْوِتْرُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer with nine units, until his body became heavy, then he performed Witr with seven units. He also performed two Rak'ahs while seated, and recited "When the earth is shaken" and "Say, O disbelievers."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ بِتِسْعٍ حَتَّى إِذَا بَدَّنَ وَكَثُرَ لَحْمُهُ أَوْتَرَ بِسَبْعٍ وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَقَرَأَ بِ إِذَا زُلْزِلَتْ وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer consisting of nine units. But when he grew old or his physical condition became difficult, he would perform Witr prayer consisting of seven units. He would pray two units, then prostrate twice while sitting, reciting in them when the verses were revealed, 'When the earth is shaken up its final quake,' and 'Say: O disbelievers, I do not worship what you worship, nor are you worshippers of what I worship, nor will I be a worshiper of what you worship, nor will you be worshipers of what I worship. For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.'"  

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِتِسْعِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَمَّا بَدَّنَ وَكَثُرَ عَلَيْهِ اللَّحْمُ أَوْتَرَ بِسَبْعِ رَكَعَاتٍ وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ يَقْرَأُ فِيهِمَا بِ إِذَا زُلْزِلَتْ وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ»  

"عن أبى أمامة قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ يوتر بتسع حتى بدن وكثر لحمه أوتر بسبع وصلى ركعتين وهو جالس يقرأ فيهما بإذا زلزلت الأرض، وقل يأيها الكافرون".  

[Machine] "There is no (optional) Witr prayer for those who have witnessed the morning, so a group of believers went to Aisha and informed her. She said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer the Witr prayer in the morning.'"  

أَنْ لَا وَتْرَ لِمَنْ أَدْرَكَ الصُّبْحَ فَانْطَلَقَ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَأَخْبَرُوهَا فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ فَيُوتِرُ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform nine units of prayer (raka'at) in Tahajjud (night prayer). When the time of dawn approached and it was about to rise, he would perform seven units of prayer, then he would perform two units of prayer while sitting, and he would say the Taslim (completion of prayer) [at the end of those two units].  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِتِسْعِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَمَّا بَدَّنَوَلَحُمَ صَلَّى سَبْعَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فَلَمَّا لَحُمَ وَبَدَّنَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Witr (an odd number of units in the night prayer) is a duty, so whoever does not perform it is not from us." He repeated this statement three times.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَتْرُ حَقٌّ فَمَنْ لَمْيُوتِرْ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا
