I asked Abu Saeed Al-Khudri about that, and he said, "It is forbidden, except in equal amounts." So I informed Abu Saeed Al-Khudri of what Ibn Abbas said, and I informed Ibn Abbas of what Abu Saeed Al-Khudri said. They both met while I was with them, and Abu Saeed Al-Khudri began, saying, "What is this verdict that people are giving regarding buying gold with silver, commanding them to buy it with an increase or decrease, hand in hand?" Ibn Abbas said, "I am not more knowledgeable than you in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. And this is Zaid bin Arqam and Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, 'We heard the Prophet ﷺ say..."

[Machine] "I was in the vicinity of the Prophet ﷺ at Arafat."
[Machine] "He (Abu Al-Minhāl) said that he sold a partner of mine in Al-Kufa, dirhams for dirhams, with some surplus. So, I said, this does not seem right. He replied, I sold it in the market, and no one blamed me for it. So, I went to Al-Barā' bin 'Āzib and asked him about it. He said, The Prophet ﷺ came to Al-Madinah, and our trade used to be like this. He (the Prophet) said, if it is hand to hand, then there is no harm in it, and if it includes deception, then there is no good in it. Then, I went to Zaid bin Arqam, as he was the greater merchant than me. I went to him and mentioned it to him. He (Zaid) said, Al-Barā' is right. Al-Humaydi said, This (transaction) is abrogated and should not be taken into consideration."
[Machine] Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri met Ibn Abbas and testified to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Gold is to be exchanged for gold and silver for silver, equivalently. So whoever adds more, has indulged in usury." Ibn Abbas then said, "Shall I repent to Allah from what I used to give fatwas about?" Then he returned.
[Machine] "I do not see any harm in what was hand in hand." Then I proceeded to Mecca in the following year, and he had "forbidden it"
[Machine] I heard Ibn Abbas say, "O Allah, I repent to You from this act of departure. This is only my opinion and this is Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri narrating it from the Prophet ﷺ."
[Machine] I heard Ibn Abbas saying, "I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him from evil actions."
[Machine] Abu Sa'id said to Ibn Abbas, may Allah have mercy on him, "Repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness." Ibn Abbas replied, "Don't you know that the Messenger of Allah forbade exchanging gold with gold and silver with silver?" He also said, "I fear for you the sin of usury." I asked Atiyyah, "What is usury?" He replied, "It is the increase and excess between them."
[Machine] "O people, there is no harm in conducting transactions as long as they are mutual. The only form of usury is when it involves unfairness. The word of usury has spread among the people of the East and the West until Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri entered and said, 'O Ibn Abbas, have you engaged in usury and benefited from it?' Ibn Abbas replied, 'Did I do that?' Abu Sa'id said, 'Yes, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Gold for gold, equal for equal, weight for weight, and silver for silver, equal for equal, weight for weight. Whoever gives more or takes more has engaged in usury."' This continued until the following year, when Ibn Abbas came and I accompanied him. He praised and thanked Allah, and then said, 'O people, I spoke with a word based on my own opinion last year, and I seek Allah's forgiveness for it and repent to Him. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Gold for gold, equal for equal, weight for weight. Whoever gives more or takes more has engaged in usury."' He repeated these six types of transactions to them."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When adultery and usury appear in a village, they have allowed the Book of Allah ﷻ upon themselves."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah does not place the desire of a servant for a land except that He grants him a need in it."

[Machine] Indeed, he was (ليس بل استفهام هو) in the row behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and his mount did not lift its legs in a normal manner until he reached the congregation.
[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ at Arafat and greeted him. He had a bird on his head and the Bedouins came to him from here and there saying, "O Messenger of Allah, we have difficulties in such and such." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O servants of Allah, Allah removes difficulties except for those who unjustly oppress others by borrowing money. They are the ones who face difficulties and destruction." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, should we seek medical treatment?" He replied, "Seek medical treatment, for Allah has not sent down an illness without providing a cure for it except for old age." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing that people are given?" He said, "People are not given anything better than good character."
[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ when the Bedouins came, many people from here and there. The people became silent, no one spoke except for them. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, do we have any difficulty in this matter? In some matters of people, is there no harm in them?" He said, "O servants of Allah, Allah has not imposed any difficulty except on him who borrows unjustly, so it is he who has the difficulty and is destroyed." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, do we have any difficulty in seeking treatment?" He said, "Treat yourself, O servants of Allah, for Allah has not placed any disease except that He has also placed a cure for it, except for old age." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing that a person can be given?" He said, "Good manners."
[Machine] I was with the Prophet ﷺ when the Bedouins came and asked him, "What is the best thing that people are given?" He said, "Good character." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, do you seek medical treatment?" He said, "Yes, you should seek medical treatment, for indeed Allah ﷻ has not created any illness except that he has also created its cure, except for one illness." They asked, "What is it?" He said, "Old age."
[Machine] "I witnessed the Prophet ﷺ , and the Bedouins came to him saying, 'We are facing difficulty in such and such matter, we are facing difficulty in such and such matter, is there any harm in it?' He said, 'O servants of Allah, Allah has removed all difficulty except for the one who borrows from someone and intends to repay him back. That person is the one who faces difficulty and destruction.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, do you seek medical treatment?' He said, 'Yes, seek medical treatment. Indeed, Allah has not revealed a disease except that He has also revealed its cure, except for one disease.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing a person can be given?' He said, 'Good manners.'"
[Machine] I attended the Prophet ﷺ and he was asked which actions are the best. He said, "Having good character."
“I saw the Bedouins asking the Prophet ﷺ: ‘Is there any harm in such and such, is there any harm in such and such?’ He said to them: ‘O slaves of Allah! Allah has only made harm in that which transgresses the honor of one’s brother. That is what is sinful.’ They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Is there any sin if we do not seek treatment?’ He said: ‘Seek treatment, O slaves of Allah! For Allah does not create any disease but He also creates with it the cure, except for old age.’ They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing that a person may be given?’ He said: ‘Good manners.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3436)
[Machine] They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing that a Muslim can be given?" He said, "Good manners."
[Machine] "We used to sit with the Prophet ﷺ as if there were birds on our heads speaking. One day, some people came to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, give us a ruling on such and such.' He said, 'O people, Allah has made things easy for you, except for those who borrow from their brothers. That is the one who finds it difficult and gets ruined. Shouldn't I give you a cure, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'Yes, Allah has not sent down a disease without sending down a cure for it except for one disease.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is it?' He said, 'Old age.' They said, 'Who are the most beloved of Allah's slaves to Allah?' He said, 'The ones with the best character.'"
Usamah bin Sharik said “I went out with the Prophet ﷺ to perform Hajj, and the people were coming to him. One would say “Apostle of Allaah ﷺ I ran between Al Safa’ and Al Marwah before going round the Ka’bah or I did something before the its proper time or did something after its proper time. He would reply “No harm will come; no harm will come except to one who defames a Muslim acting wrongfully. That is the one who will be in trouble and will perish. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2015)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who shaved his head before sacrificing (an animal). He said, "There is no harm, so let him shave."
