The Prophet [SAW] used to seek refuge (with Allah) from four things: From knowledge that is of no benefit, from a heart that does not feel humble, from a supplication that is not heard, and a soul that is never satisfied.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ وَدُعَاءٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ وَنَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min al-arba': min 'ilmin la yanfa'u, wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min nafsin la tashba'u, wa min du'a'in la yusma'u (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from four: From knowledge that is of no benefit, from a heart that is not humble, from a soul that is not satisfied and from a supplication that is not answered.)'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الأَرْبَعِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ

The Prophet [SAW] used to say these supplications: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la yanfa'u, wa qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa du'a'in la yasma'u, wa nafsin la tashba'u. (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that is of no benefit, a heart that is not humble, a supplication that is not heard and a soul that is not satisfied.)" Then he would say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min ha'ula'il-arba' (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from these four.)'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَذِهِ الدَّعَوَاتِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ وَقَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ وَدُعَاءٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ وَنَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَؤُلاَءِ الأَرْبَعِ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la yanfa'u, wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min nafsin la tashba'u, wa min du'a'in la yusma' (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that is of no benefit, a heart that is not humble, a soul that is not satisfied and a supplication that is not heard.)'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ سَعِيدٌ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بَلْ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la yanfa'u, wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min nafsin la tashba'u, wa min du'a'in la yusma' (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that is of no benefit, a heart that is not humble, a soul that is not satisfied and a supplication that is not heard.)'"

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from four things: Knowledge which does not profit, a heart which is not submissive, a soul which has an insatiable appetite, and a supplication which is not heard."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الأَرْبَعِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ

"One of the supplications that the Prophet used to say was: 'Allahumma, inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la yanfa'u, wa mindu'a'in la yusma'u, wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min nafsin la tashba'u [O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that is of no benefit, from a supplication that is not heard, from a heart that does not fear (You) and from a soul that is not satisfied].'"

كَانَ مِنْ دُعَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ وَمَنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ

'Allahumma! Inni a'udhu bika minal-arba': min 'ilmin la yanfa'u, wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min nafsin la tashba'u, wa min du'a'in la yusma' [O Allah, I seek refuge with You from four things: From knowledge that is of no benefit, from a heart that does not fear (You), from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not heard].'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَقَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَنَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ

[Machine] I heard Ibn Abbas say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from supplication that is not heard, from a heart that does not humble, and from a soul that is never satisfied. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from these four.'"

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَنَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ الْأَرْبَعِ»

"One of the supplications that the Prophet used to say was: 'Allahumma, inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la yanfa'u, wa mindu'a'in la yusma'u, wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min nafsin la tashba'u [O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that is of no benefit, from a supplication that is not heard, from a heart that does not fear (You) and from a soul that is not satisfied].'" "أعوذُ باللهِ من قلبٍ لا يَخْشَعُ، وعلْمٍ لا ينْفعُ، ودعاءٍ لا يُسْمَعُ، ونفس لا تشبَعُ، ومن الجوع، فإِنه بئس الضجيعُ".

"اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلم لا يَنْفَعُ، وَعَمِلٍ لَا يُرْفَعُ، وَقَلبٍ لا يَخْشَعُ، وَدُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ".

"اللَّهُمَّ إِنى أعَّوذُ بِكَ مِنْ قَلب لَا يَخْشَعُ، وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمعُ، وَنَفْسِ لا تَشْبَعُ" .

"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الأرْبَع: مِنْ علم لا يَنْفَعُ، وَمِنْ قَلبٍ لا يَخْشَعُ، وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لا تَشْبَعُ، ودُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ".

"اللهم "إِنى " أَعوذ بك من قلب لا يخشع، وعلم لا ينفع، ودعاء لا يستجاب ونفس لا تشبع، ومن الجوع فبئس الضجيع، ومن أَن أرد إِلى أرذل العمر ومن فتنة "المسيح " الدجال "ومن" عذاب القبر".

"عَنْ أَنَسٍ: أنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ كانَ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَ إِنِّى أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ "وعلم (* *) " لاَ يُرْفَعُ، وقَلبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ، وَقَوْلٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ".
