46. Seeking Refuge
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from four things: Knowledge which does not profit, a heart which is not submissive, a soul which has an insatiable appetite, and a supplication which is not heard." (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1548)
that the Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate through these supplications: "O Allah, (1) I seek refuge in You from knowledge that is of no benefit, (2) a heart that is not fearful ˹of You˺, (3) a supplication that is not heard ˹by You˺, and (4) a self that is not satisfied."
He said: Then he would say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from these four ˹things˺."
