[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to Ali, "You have a similarity to Jesus. The Jews hated him to the extent that they slandered his mother, and the Christians loved him to the extent that they raised him to a status that was not appropriate."
49.35 [Machine] The mention of the position of Ali bin Abi Talib, his closeness to the Prophet ﷺ, his companionship with him, and the love of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for him.
[Machine] "He was among those who turned away on the day the two armies met, but then Allah forgave him and he committed a sin, so they killed him." And he was asked about Ali and he said, "Do not ask about him except in comparison to his proximity to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
[Machine] Regarding Ali, this is his house out of his love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and I will not talk about him without mentioning his virtues. As for Uthman, he committed a great sin on the day of Uhud, but Allah forgave him. And he made a small mistake among you, so you killed him.
[Machine] "I asked Ibn Umar while he was in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about Ali and Uthman. He said, 'As for Ali, do not ask me about him, but look at his house from the house of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . There is no house in the mosque other than his house. As for Uthman, indeed he committed a great sin when the two groups met, but Allah forgave him and pardoned him. And he committed a sin among you that led to his killing.'"
[Machine] "From Ali, but look at his house among the houses of the Prophet ﷺ." He said, "Indeed, I despise it." He said, "May Allah despise you."
[Machine] Abdul Rahman asked Qutham bin Abbas where Ali, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, inherited from. He said, "He was the most deserving of it among us and the most steadfast in adhering to it." Zaid bin Abu Unaisah disagreed with him, and Khalid bin Qutham reported it.
[Machine] From Khalid ibn Qutham, it was said to him, "Why did Ali inherit the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instead of your grandfather when he is his uncle?" He said, "Indeed, Ali was the earliest among us in accepting Islam and the most strict among us in adhering to it."
[Machine] Abu Bakr sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ , and he heard Aisha raise her voice, saying, "By Allah, I know that Ali is more beloved to you than my father, so Abu Bakr was drawn to strike her." The Prophet ﷺ restrained him and Abu Bakr angrily left saying, "O daughter of Fulan, I see you raising your voice against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Aisha, "How did you see that I saved you from the man?" Then Abu Bakr sought permission afterwards, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Aisha made peace. He said, "Let both of them enter with me into peace as they brought me into war." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We have done it."
[Machine] I entered with my mother to Aisha's house when I was a child, and I mentioned Ali to her. She said, "I have never seen a man loved by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more than him, nor a woman loved by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more than his wife."
[Machine] I entered with my mother to Aishah, and I heard her asking her from behind the curtain about Ali. She said, "You ask me about a man whom I do not know anyone was more beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than him, nor anyone more beloved to him than his wife."
[Machine] A man came to Abu (Prophet Muhammad's companion) and asked him, "Who was the most beloved person to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , from among the women?" Abu replied, "The most beloved people to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , from among the women, are Fatimah (his daughter) and from among the men, Ali (his cousin)". Abu Abdurrahman Abdullah ibn Ata is not strong in hadith.
49.36 [Machine] Mentioning the Status of Ali with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon his entry, request, and silence.
[Machine] Ali said, “I used to go in to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, and if he was praying, I would praise Allah and enter, and if he was not praying, he would give me permission to enter, and I would enter.”
ʿAli said: There was a time before dawn when I would ask to enter upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. If he was praying, he would say Subhan Allah to me, and that was my permission to enter; if he was not praying, he would give me permission to enter. (Using translation from Aḥmad 570)
49.37 [Machine] The mention of a difference regarding Al-Mughirah in this hadith.
"I had certain times when I used to come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When I came to him I would ask for permission to enter. If I found him praying he would clear his throat and I would enter, and if I found him free he would give me permission (to enter)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1211)
[Machine] Ali said, "I had two entrances from the Prophet ﷺ , an entrance at night and an entrance during the day. So when I entered at night, he would make room for me." Shurahbil ibn Mudrik contradicted him in his chain of narration, but agreed with him on the word "make room for me."
"Ali said to me: 'I was so close to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, closer than anyone else. I used to come to him at the end of every night, before dawn, and say: "As-salamu 'alayka ya Nabiyy Allah (Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah)." If he cleared his throat I would go back to my family, otherwise I would enter upon him.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1213)
"When I would ask the Messenger of Allah SAW he would give me, and when I would be silent, he would initiate (speech or giving) with me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3729)
"When I would ask the Messenger of Allah SAW he would give me, and when I would be silent, he would initiate (speech or giving) with me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3729)
"When I would ask the Messenger of Allah SAW he would give me, and when I would be silent, he would initiate (speech or giving) with me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3729)
49.38 [Machine] The Mention of what Ali was distinguished for in his ascent to the shoulders of the Prophet ﷺ
ʿClimb onto my shoulders.” So I climbed on to his shoulders and he stood up with me. I felt that if I had wanted to, I could have reached the edge of the sky. I climbed up onto the top of the House, where there was a statue of brass or copper. I started shaking it right and left, forwards and backwards until, when I had managed to loosen it, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: “Throw it down.” I threw it down and it broke like a glass bottle, Then I came down and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I ran and hid among the houses lest any of the people see us. (Using translation from Aḥmad 644)
49.39 [Machine] The Mention of what is specific to Ali, apart from the former and latter from Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and a part of him, and the lady of the women of Paradise, except Maryam, the daughter of Imran.
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, she is young." So, Ali proposed to her and married her to him.
[Machine] "I attended the wedding of Fatimah bint Rasul Allah ﷺ . When we woke up in the morning, the Prophet ﷺ knocked on the door and Umm Ayman opened it for him. He said, 'O Umm Ayman, pray for my brother.' She asked, 'Is he your brother and you are going to marry him?' He replied, 'Yes, O Umm Ayman.' The women overheard the Prophet's ﷺ voice and moved away. Umm Ayman said, 'I hid in a corner.' Then Ali came and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for him and poured water on him, then said, 'Pray for Fatimah.' She came out shyly, and he said to her, 'It seems that I married you to the most beloved of my family.' He prayed for her and poured water on her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then left and saw a group of people. He asked, 'Who is this?' I said, 'Asma.' He said, 'The daughter of Umays?' I said, 'Yes.' He asked me, 'Were you honoring her at the wedding of Fatimah bint Rasul Allah ﷺ ?' I said, 'Yes.' She said, 'He prayed for me.' Sa'id ibn Abi 'Aroobah disagreed with him and they both narrated it from Ayyoob from 'Ikrimah from Ibn Abbas."
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Fatimah to Ali, he gave her a bed with a mattress filled with soft stuffing and a pillow made of a leather bag. And they brought sand from the desert and spread it in the room. Then the Prophet said to Ali, "When you bring her, do not come near her until I come to you." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ knocked on the door, and Umm Ayman came out. He asked her, "Is my brother (Ali) here?" She replied, "How can he be your brother when you have married his daughter?" He said, "Indeed, he is my brother." Then he approached her and said, "Have you come to honor the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He prayed for her and said, "Good." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered and said, "The Jews used to turn the man away from his wife when he had relations with her." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a bowl of water and performed ablution and recited supplication in it. Then he called Ali and poured some of that water on his face, chest, and arms. Then he called Fatimah, and she stumbled in her garment out of shyness from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He did the same to her. Then he said to her, "By Allah, I would not have given you in marriage to anyone better than Ali." Then he stood up and left.

In the event of the dissension among Muslims an emerging sect will emerge ; one of the two parties that is nearer to the truth will kill it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4667)

[Machine] I was in pain, so I went to the Prophet ﷺ and he allowed me to stay in his place. He stood up to pray and threw a part of his garment on me. Then he said, "Get up, O Ali, you have been healed, there is no harm upon you. I have not supplicated for myself without supplicating for you the same, and I have not asked for anything without being granted it, except that it was said to me that there is no prophet after you."
49.51 [Machine] The remembrance of the supplications specific to Ali
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and said, 'Verily, your uncle, the misguided, has passed away. Who will shroud him?' I said, 'Go and shroud your father and do not speak of anything until you come to me.' So I did as he instructed, then I went to him. He ordered me to perform ablution, so I did, and he supplicated for me with supplications that pleased me more than the entire world.'"
[Machine] "When I returned to the Prophet, ﷺ , he said to me a word that I do not like to have the world with it."
49.52 [Machine] The Mention of What Ali Was Specifically Exempted from in terms of the Harm of Heat and Cold
[Machine] Ali came out to us in intense heat, wearing winter clothes. And he came out to us in winter, wearing summer clothes. Then he called for water and drank, then wiped the sweat off his forehead. When he returned to his father, he said, "Oh father, do you see what the Commander of the Believers has done? He came out to us in winter, wearing summer clothes, and he came out to us in summer, wearing winter clothes." Abu Layla said, "Did you realize?" And he took his son Abdul Rahman's hand and went to Ali. Ali said to him, "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ sent for me, and I had severe ophthalmia. He spit in my eyes and said, 'Open your eyes.' So I opened them and I did not complain about them until now, and he prayed for me." He said, "O Allah, remove from him the heat and the cold, and I did not feel any heat or cold until this day."
