[Machine] "That I should be afflicted by it, nor any relationship between me and you." He said, "For what reason?" I said, "For the sake of Allah." He said, "Then He would draw my shoulder [closer to him] and say, 'Rejoice! If you are truthful, then I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Those who love one another for the sake of Allah will be in the shade of the Throne on the Day when there will be no shade except His shade. The prophets and martyrs will envy them for their position.'" Then he said, "So I went out and came to 'Ubada bin As-Samit and told him about the hadith of Mu'adh. 'Ubada bin As-Samit said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'My love is guaranteed for those who love one another for my sake, for those who advise one another for my sake, for those who visit one another for my sake, and for those who spend on one another for my sake, while they are upon pulpits of light. The prophets and the truthful ones will envy them for their position.'"

[Machine] I entered the mosque of Hims and saw a circle in which there were thirty-two men from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Among them was a young man with dark eyes and thick eyebrows. Whenever they disagreed about something, they would ask him and he would inform them, and they would follow his guidance. I asked, "Who is this?" They replied, "This is Muadh bin Jabal." I then went to pray, intending to address some of them, but I could not speak to any of them. They left, and the next day when I entered, I saw Muadh praying by himself. I prayed beside him, and when he finished, I sat between him and the pillar. I remained silent for an hour, neither speaking to him nor being spoken to. Then I said, "By Allah, I love you for the sake of Allah, not because of any worldly gain or kinship between us." He asked, "For what reason?" I replied, "For the sake of Allah, the Most Blessed and Exalted." He then spread his wings and said, "Rejoice, if you are sincere, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Those who love one another for the sake of Allah will be seated on pulpits of light on the Day when there will be no shade except His shade. They will be envied by the Prophets and the martyrs.'" "Then I left," Ibn Mas'ud continued, "and met Ubada bin As-Samit. I informed him about what Muadh had told me, and Ubada said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrate from his Lord, the Most Blessed and Exalted, that He said, 'My love is guaranteed for those who love one another for My sake, who advise one another for My sake, who visit one another for My sake, and who spend on one another for My sake. Such people will be on pulpits of light and will be envied by the Prophets and the righteous.'"

[Machine] He said, "In the shade of Allah on a day when there is no shade except His shade, and then he said, "In His remaining place, there is no doubt that they will be given chairs of light, and the prophets, the truthful ones, and the martyrs will envy them in their gatherings with their Lord, the Blessed and Exalted." I conveyed this to Ubada bin As-Samit and he said, "I do not narrate to you except what I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, that he said, "My love for those who love each other is confirmed, as well as my love for those who spend on each other, my love for those who sincerely befriend each other, my love for those who visit each other, and my love for those who maintain contact with each other." Shu'bah expressed doubt regarding those who maintain contact and those who visit each other.
