The most frequent supplication of the Prophet ﷺ was:
allāhumma rabbanā ātinā fi al-dunya ḥasanah, wa-fi al-ākhirati ḥasanah, wa-qinā ʿadhāb al-nār
(O Allah, our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.)
كَانَ أَكْثَرُ دُعَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ:
«اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ».
But among them is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world ˹that which is˺ good and in the Hereafter ˹that which is˺ good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَقُولُ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةࣰ وَفِي ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةࣰ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Anas reported that the Prophet ﷺ used to make supplication with this supplication, "O Allah, give us good in this world and good in the Next World and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Anas said, "The most frequent supplication of the Prophet ﷺ was, 'O Allah, give us good in this world and good in the Next World and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.'"
عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ أَكْثَرُ دُعَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "O Allah! Our Lord! Give us in this world that, which is good and in the Hereafter that, which is good and save us from the torment of the Fire." (2.201)
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
The supplication that he (the Prophet made very frequently is this:" O Allah, grant us the good in this world and the good in the Hereafter and save us from the torment of Hell-Fire." He (Qatada) said that whenever Anas had to supplicate he made this very supplication, and whenever he (intended) to make another supplication he (inserted) this very supplication in that.
سَأَلَ قَتَادَةُ أَنَسًا أَىُّ دَعْوَةٍ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ قَالَ كَانَ أَكْثَرُ دَعْوَةٍ يَدْعُو بِهَا يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ قَالَ وَكَانَ أَنَسٌ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ بِدَعْوَةٍ دَعَا بِهَا فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ بِدُعَاءٍ دَعَا بِهَا فِيهِ
" Our Lord, grant us the good in this world and the good in the Hereafter and save us from the torment of Hell Fire."
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

[AI] To say in his supplication: "O Allah, give us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." Shu'bah said: So I said to Thabit, narrating from the Prophet ﷺ , he said: Yes.
كَانَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ فِي دُعَائِهِ اللهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَقُلْتُ لِثَابِتٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ
[AI] I heard Anas saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to frequently supplicate, saying, "O Allah, grant us goodness in this world, and goodness in the hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Hellfire."
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ اللهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدْعُو بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ «اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ»
[AI] Tell me about a supplication that the Prophet ﷺ used to make. He said, "O Allah, grant us goodness in this worldly life and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." So, I met Isma'il and asked him, and he said, "The most frequent supplication he used to make was, 'Our Lord, grant us goodness in this worldly life and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.'"
أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ دُعَاءٍ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ» فَلَقِيتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ أَكْثَرُ دَعْوَةٍ يَدْعُو بِهَا «رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ»
[AI] Qatadah asked Anas, "What is the most common supplication that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to make?" He replied, "The most common supplication the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to make is, 'O Allah, our Lord, grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.'"

قَالَ سَأَلَ قَتَادَةُ أَنَسًا أَيُّ دَعْوَةٍ كَانَ أَكْثَرُ مَا يَدْعُو بِهَا النَّبِيّ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ كَانَ أَكْثَرُ دَعْوَةٍ يَدْعُو بِهَا اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ وَلا نَعْلَمُ أَسْنَدَ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إلاَّ هَذَيْنِ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ
قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدْعُو بِهَؤُلاءِ الدَّعَوَاتِ اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةٌ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say between the two corners: O Allah, bring us a blessing in this world and a blessing in the next and guard us from punishment of Hell. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1892)
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ الْيَمَانِيِّ وَالْحَجَرِ {رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا} [البقرة 201] عَذَابَ النَّارِ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ {رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ} [البقرة 201]
[AI] He saw Umar circling the Kaaba and saying, "Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." [Al-Baqarah 201] His (Umar's) tears were flowing down other than that.

"سُبْحَانَ اللهِ؛ إِنَّكَ لاَ تُطِيقُهُ، وَلَا تَسْتَطِيعُهُ، هَلَّا قُلْتَ الَّلهُمَّ آتِنَا فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِى الآخِرَة حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارَ".
"عَلَى الرُّكْنِ اليَمَانيِّ مَلَكٌ مُوَكَّلٌ بِه مُنْذُ خَلَقَ (الله) السموات والأَرْضَ، فَإِذَا مَرَرتُم به فَقُولُوا: رَبَّنَا آتنا في الدنيا حَسَنةً وفي الآخرَة حَسَنَةً، وقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ" فْإِنَّهُ يَقُولُ: آمين آمين.
"يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ: إِنَّكَ لاَ تَقُومُ بِعُقُوبَةِ اللهِ، هَلَّا قُلتَ: رَبَّنَا آتِنَا في الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَة، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ".
"عَنْ حَبيبِ بْنِ صَهْبَانَ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الخَطَّابِ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ بَيْنَ البَابِ والرُّكْنِ، أَوْ بَيْنَ المَقَامٍ وَالْبَابِ: {رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ} ".
"عَنْ حَبيبِ بْن صُهْبان قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّاب يَقُولُ حَوْلَ الْبَيْت: {رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ} لَيْسَ لَهُ هِجَّيرٌ إلَّا ذَلِكَ".
"عَنْ أَبِى نَجيح قَالَ: كَانَ أَكْثَرُ كَلَامِ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ فِى الطَّوَافِ: رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِى الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ".
"عَنْ أنسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ لَوْ دَعَا بِمَائَة دَعوةٍ افْتَتَحَهَا وَخَتَمَهَا وَتَوَسَّطَهَا بِرَبَّنا آتنَا فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفى الآخرَة حَسَنَةً وَقنَا عَذَاب النَّار".
" عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: كَثُرَ مَا سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ يَدْعُو: اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وفِى الآخَرةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ".
" سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَقُولُ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ وَالْحَجَرِ: رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ".
