Bilal used to pronounce the Adhan at night, so Messenger of Allah ﷺ? said, "Carry on taking your meals (eat and drink) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan, for he does not pronounce it till it is dawn.  

البخاري:١٩١٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَوَالْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ أَنَّ بِلاَلاً كَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَقَالَ

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يُؤَذِّنُ حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ قَالَ الْقَاسِمُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِهِمَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَرْقَى ذَا وَيَنْزِلَ ذَا

Recommendation to eat suhur until the adhan of Fajr

muslim:1092c – Ibn Numayr from my father > ʿUbaydullāh > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

There were to callers of adhan for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Bilal and Ibn Umm Maktum, the blind. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Bilal announces the adhan at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum announces adhan." And he ˹the narrator˺ said: "The ˹period˺ between their ˹adhans˺ was not more than this that one climbing down ˹from the place of adhan˺ and the other one climbing up."  

مسلم:١٠٩٢c – حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ قَالَ

كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُؤَذِّنَانِ بِلاَلٌ وَابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ الأَعْمَى فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا وَيَرْقَى هَذَا  

nasai:639 – Yaʿqūb b. Ibrāhīm > Ḥafṣ > ʿUbaydullāh > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the Adhan." She said: "And there was no more between than the time it takes for one to come down and the other to go up."  

النسائي:٦٣٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَذَّنَ بِلاَلٌ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَتْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا وَيَصْعَدَ هَذَا  

ذِكْرُ حَظْرِ هَذَا الْفِعْلِ الَّذِي أُبِيحَ عِنْدَ الشَّرْطِ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَاهُ إِذَا كَانَ مَعَهُ شَرْطٌ ثَانٍ

ibnhibban:3473 – Ibn Khuzaymah > Muḥammad b. Yaḥyá al-Dhuhlī > Ibrāhīm b. Ḥamzah > ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Muḥammad > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, Ibn Umm Maktum calls for the prayer at night, so eat and drink until Bilal calls for the prayer." And Bilal used to call for the prayer when he saw the dawn.  

ابن حبّان:٣٤٧٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الذُّهْلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ يُؤَذِّنَ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ بِلَالٌ» وَكَانَ بِلَالٌ يُؤَذِّنُ حِينَ يَرَى الْفَجْرَ
