My father said that Allah s Apostle said, "Bilal pronounces 'Adhan at night, so keep on eating and drinking (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces Adhan." Salim added, "He was a blind man who would not pronounce the Adhan unless he was told that the day had dawned."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَكَانَ رَجُلاً أَعْمَى لاَ يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالَ لَهُ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan at night, so keep on eating and drinking (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan at night, so eat and drink (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

Bilal used to pronounce the Adhan at night, so Messenger of Allah ﷺ? said, "Carry on taking your meals (eat and drink) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan, for he does not pronounce it till it is dawn.

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يُؤَذِّنُ حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ قَالَ الْقَاسِمُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِهِمَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَرْقَى ذَا وَيَنْزِلَ ذَا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan when it is still night (before dawn), so eat and drink till the next Adhan is pronounced (or till you hear Ibn Um Maktum's Adhan)." Ibn Um Maktum was a blind man who would not pronounce the Adhan till he was told that it was dawn.

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ أَوْ قَالَ حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا أَذَانَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلاً أَعْمَى لاَ يُؤَذِّنُ حَتَّى يَقُولَ لَهُ النَّاسُ أَصْبَحْتَ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan at night so that you may eat and drink till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan (for the Fajr prayer).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had two Mu'adhdhins, Bilal and 'Abdullah b. Umm Maktum, who (latter) was blind.

كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُؤَذِّنَانِ بِلاَلٌ وَابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ الأَعْمَى

Ibn Umm Maktum used to pronounce Adhan at the behest of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (despite the fact) that he was blind.

كَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ يُؤَذِّنُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ أَعْمَى

Bilal would pronounce Adhan (at the fag end of the night in order to inform the people about the time of the Sahri). So you eat and drink till you hear the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum (which was pro- nounced at the conclusion of the Sahri and the commencement of the fast).

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا تَأْذِينَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Bilal announces Adhan during the night, so you eat and drink, till you hear the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا أَذَانَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

There were to callers of adhan for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Bilal and Ibn Umm Maktum, the blind. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Bilal announces the adhan at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum announces adhan." And he ˹the narrator˺ said: "The ˹period˺ between their ˹adhans˺ was not more than this that one climbing down ˹from the place of adhan˺ and the other one climbing up."

كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُؤَذِّنَانِ بِلاَلٌ وَابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ الأَعْمَى فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا وَيَرْقَى هَذَا

Ibn Umm Maktum was the mu'adhdhin of the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) and he was blind.

أَنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ كَانَ مُؤَذِّنًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ أَعْمَى

the Prophet said: "Indeed Bilal calls the Adhan in the night, so eat and drink until you hear the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا تَأْذِينَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until you hear Ibn Umm Maktoom calling the Adhan."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا تَأْذِينَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the Adhan." She said: "And there was no more between than the time it takes for one to come down and the other to go up."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَذَّنَ بِلاَلٌ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَتْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا وَيَصْعَدَ هَذَا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When Ibn Umm Maktum calls the Adhan, eat and drink, and when Bilal calls the Adhan, do not eat nor drink."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَذَّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَإِذَا أَذَّنَ بِلاَلٌ فَلاَ تَأْكُلُوا وَلاَ تَشْرَبُوا

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 637)

«إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ had two muadhins, Bilal and Ibn Umm Maktum. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If Bilal gives the adhan at night, then continue eating and drinking until you hear the adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum." Al-Qasim said, "There was nothing between them except this one would descend while the other ascends."

كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ مُؤَذِّنَانِ بِلَالٌ وَابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا أَذَانَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» فَقَالَ الْقَاسِمُ وَمَا كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا وَيَرْقَى هَذَا

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until you hear Ibn Umm Maktoom calling the Adhan." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 638)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 637)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِيبِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If Bilal calls the adhan for the night prayer, or if the son of Umm Maktoom calls the adhan for the night prayer, then eat and drink until the son of Umm Maktoom calls."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ أَوِ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّىيُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan at night, so keep on eating and drinking (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan." (Using translation from Bukhārī 620)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ بِلَالٌ أَوِ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan at night, so keep on eating and drinking (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan." (Using translation from Bukhārī 620)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 637)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا لَا يَدْرِي مَا اللَّيْلُ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Bilal calls the Adhan at night, so eat and drink until you hear the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum." And Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man who could not see, and he would not give the Adhan until the people say, 'Give the Adhan, you have become morning.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا تَأْذِينَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلًا أَعْمَى لَا يُبْصِرُ لَا يُؤَذِّنُ حَتَّى يَقُولَ النَّاسُ أَذِّنْ قَدْ أَصْبَحْتَ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , Bilal calls the adhan at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the adhan. She said, "I am not aware of it except that he would call it when this one descends and that one ascends."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَتْ فَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا كَانَ قَدْرَ مَا يَنْزِلُ هَذَا وَيَرْقَى هَذَا

[AI] "Regarding the Prophet ﷺ , he said: 'Indeed, Bilal calls for the prayer at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls for the prayer.' He said, 'And I do not know it except that it is equal to what goes down and what rises.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا كَانَ قَدْرَ مَا يَنْزِلُ هَذَا وَيَرْقَى هَذَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the son of Umm Maktoom calls the Adhan, eat and drink, and when Bilal calls the Adhan, do not eat or drink." She (the woman) said, "What if the woman still has some leftover food from her Sahur (pre-dawn meal), and she says to Bilal, 'Wait until I finish my Sahur?'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَذَّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَإِذَا أَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ فَلَا تَأْكُلُوا وَلَا تَشْرَبُوا قَالَتْ وَإِنْ كَانَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ لَيَبْقَى عَلَيْهَا مِنْ سُحُورِهَا فَتَقُولُ لِبِلَالٍ أَمْهِلْ حَتَّى أَفْرُغَ مِنْ سُحُورِي

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bilal calls the adhan whilst it is still night so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Salim ibn Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bilal calls the adhan in the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan." Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man who did not call the adhan until someone said to him, "The morning has come. The morning has come."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلاً أَعْمَى لاَ يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالَ لَهُ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 637)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا أَذَانَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 637)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِي ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

[AI] Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, Ibn Umm Maktum calls for the prayer at night, so eat and drink until Bilal calls for the prayer." And Bilal used to call for the prayer when he saw the dawn.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ يُؤَذِّنَ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ بِلَالٌ» وَكَانَ بِلَالٌ يُؤَذِّنُ حِينَ يَرَى الْفَجْرَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the son of Um Maktum calls the adhan, then eat and drink. But when Bilal calls the adhan, do not eat or drink. If any of us still has some remaining food from pre-dawn meal, then say to Bilal: Wait until I finish my pre-dawn meal."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَذَّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَإِذَا أَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ فَلَا تَأْكُلُوا وَلَا تَشْرَبُوا فَإِنْ كَانَتِ الْوَاحِدَةُ مِنَّا لَيَبْقَى عَلَيْهَا الشَّيْءُ مِنْ سَحُورِهَا فَتَقُولُ لِبِلَالٍ أَمْهِلْ حَتَّى أَفْرَغَ مِنْ سَحُورِي»

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إنَّ بِلاَلاً يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 637)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 637)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

[AI] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Indeed, Bilal gives the call to prayer during the night, so eat and drink until the call to prayer by Ibn Umm Maktum."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Indeed, Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, so eat and drink until the call to prayer is made by Ibn Umm Maktum."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Bilal calls the Adhan at night, so continue eating and drinking until the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum." And it is claimed that when Bilal went down (to call the Adhan), Ibn Umm Maktum would call the Adhan.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ بِلَالًا كَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِلَالٌ أَذَّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

[AI] I heard my aunt, who had performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, so keep eating and drinking until Bilal or Ibn Umm Maktum gives the call to prayer." And he used to raise his voice for this (the adhan) and lower it for that (the iqamah), so we would hold onto him just as you are until we eat our pre-dawn meal.

سَمِعْتُ عَمَّتِي وَكَانَتْ قَدْ حَجَّتْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ بِلَالٌ أَوِ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» وَكَانَ يَصْعَدُ هَذَا وَيُنَزِّلُ هَذَا فَكُنَّا نَتَعَلَّقُ بِهِ كَمَا أَنْتَ حَتَّى نَتَسَحَّرَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Bilal calls for the prayer at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls for the Fajr prayer." Ibn Shihab said: "And Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man who did not call for the prayer until he was told that it was morning."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلًا أَعْمَى لَا يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالَ لَهُ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Bilal calls for prayer at night, so eat and drink until the son of Umm Maktum calls for prayer."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

[AI] The messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Indeed, Bilal calls the adhan at night, so eat and drink until the adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum." Al-Qasim said: "There was no time gap between their adhans except for him descending and him ascending."

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ الْقَاسِمُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِهِمَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا وَيَرْقَى هَذَا

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, the son of Umm Maktum calls the Adhan at night, so eat and drink until Bilal calls the Adhan like this.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ بِلَالٌ هَكَذَا

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan at night, so keep on eating and drinking (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan." (Using translation from Bukhārī 620)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ بِلَالٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "Indeed, Bilal calls for the prayer at night, so continue eating and drinking until Ibn Umm Maktum calls for the prayer." Ibn Shihab said, "Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man who did not call for the prayer until it was said to him, 'You have become morning, you have become morning.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلًا أَعْمَى لَا يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالُ لَهُ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, so eat and drink until you hear the call to prayer from the son of Umm Maktum."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا أَذَانَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ
