"The Messenger of Allah said to me: 'I seek refuge in Allah for you O Ka'b bin Ujrah from leader that will be after me. Whoever comes to their doors to approve of their lies and supports them in their oppression, then he is not of me and I am not of him, and he will not meet me at the Hawd. And whoever comes to their doors, or he does not come, and he does not approve of their lies and he does not support them in their oppression, then he is from me and I am from him, and he will meet me at the Hawd. Ka'ab bin Ujrah! Salat is clear proof, and Sawm (fasting) is an impregnable shield, and Sadaqah (charity) extinguishes sins just as water extinguishes fire. O Ka'b bin Ujrah! There is no flesh raised that sprouts from the unlawful except that the Fire is more appropriate for it.'"

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللَّهِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ مِنْ أُمَرَاءَ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي فَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ فِي كَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلاَ يَرِدُ عَلَىَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ أَوْ لَمْ يَغْشَ فَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ فِي كَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَىَّ الْحَوْضَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلاَةُ بُرْهَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ حَصِينَةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لاَ يَرْبُو لَحْمٌ نَبَتَ مِنْ سُحْتٍ إِلاَّ كَانَتِ النَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us, we were made up of nine; five and four. The first of the numbers for the Arabs, and the latter for the non-Arabs. He said: 'Listen, have you heard that after me there will leaders, whoever enters upon them and condones to their lies, and supports them in their oppression, then he is not from me and I am not from him, and he shall not drink with me from the Hawd. And whoever does not enter upon them, nor help them in their oppression, nor condones to their lies, then he is from me, and I am from him, and he shall drink with me at the Hawd.'"

خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ تِسْعَةٌ خَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ أَحَدُ الْعَدَدَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ وَالآخَرُ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ فَقَالَ اسْمَعُوا هَلْ سَمِعْتُمْ أَنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَيْسَ بِوَارِدٍ عَلَىَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَهُوَ وَارِدٌ عَلَىَّ الْحَوْضَ

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us, and there were nine of us. He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. Whoever does not believe their lies and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is of me, and I am of hi, and he will come to me at the Cistern."'

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ تِسْعَةٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَيْسَ بِوَارِدٍ عَلَىَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَهُوَ وَارِدٌ عَلَىَّ الْحَوْضَ

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us and we were nine, fie and four, some 'Arabs and some non- 'Arabs. He said: 'Listen. Have you heard that after me there will be rulers, whoever enters upon them and believes their lies and help them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern? Whoever does not enter upon them or belive their lies or help them in their wrongdoing is of me and I am of him, and he will come to me at the Cistern."'

خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ تِسْعَةٌ خَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ أَحَدُ الْعَدَدَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ وَالآخَرُ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ فَقَالَ اسْمَعُوا هَلْ سَمِعْتُمْ أَنَّهُ سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَيْسَ يَرِدُ عَلَىَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَىَّ الْحَوْضَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There will come rulers upon you who will command you to do something they themselves do not do. Whoever believes in their lies and supports them in their injustice, he is not from me and I am not from him. And he will not meet me at the pond."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ يَأْمُرُونَكُمْ بِمَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكِذْبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: "There will be rulers who will be surrounded by people who deceive and lie. Whoever enters upon them and supports them in their falsehood and helps them in their injustice, he is not from me and I am not from him. And whoever does not enter upon them and does not believe in their lies and does not assist them in their injustice, he is from me and I am from him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ يَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ تَغْشَاهُمْ غَوَاشٍ أَوْ حَوَاشٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ يَظْلِمُونَ وَيَكْذِبُونَ فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَيُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ

[AI] "Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'There will be rulers who are surrounded by groups of people who deceive and lie. Whoever helps them in their injustice and believes their lies is not one of us, and I am not one of them. Whoever does not believe their lies and does not assist them in their injustice, then he is one of us, and I am one of them.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَيَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ يَغْشَاهُمْ غَوَاشٍ أَوْ حَوَاشٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ يَظْلِمُونَ وَيَكْذِبُونَ فَمَنْ أَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَا أَنَا مِنْهُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَهُوَ مِنِّي

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said to Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, "May Allah protect you from the rule of the foolish." He asked, "What is the rule of the foolish?" The Prophet ﷺ responded, "It is when leaders come after me who do not follow my guidance and do not adhere to my tradition (sunnah). Those who believe them in their lies and support them in their injustices are not from me, nor am I from them. They will not reach my fountain. However, those who do not believe them in their lies and do not support them in their injustices are from me and I am from them. They will reach my fountain. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, fasting is a protection, charity extinguishes sins, and prayer is evidence. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, no flesh that has grown from unlawful means will enter paradise. The Fire is more deserving of it. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are heading towards either buying or freeing themselves, and there are those who sell themselves and destroy themselves."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ أَعَاذَكَ اللهُ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ قَالَ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي لَا يَقْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيِي وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِي فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ لَيْسُوا مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا يَرِدُوا عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَسَيَرِدُوا عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ وَالصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ أَوْ قَالَ بُرْهَانٌ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ نَبَتَ مِنْ سُحْتٍ النَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ النَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَمُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقُهَا وَبَائِعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُوبِقُهَا

[AI] Narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, I seek refuge with Allah for you from the leadership of fools." Ka'b asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what is that?" He replied: "There will be rulers after me, that whoever comes to them and believes their words and supports them in their injustice, then he is not of me and I am not of him, and they will not come to me at the Pool (of Al-Kawthar). And whoever does not come to them and does not believe their words and does not support them in their injustice, then he is from me and I am from him, and those will come to me at the Pool (of Al-Kawthar). O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, prayer is a sacrifice, fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sins as water extinguishes fire. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, those whose flesh is nurtured by unlawful things will not enter Paradise. Fire is more deserving for them. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are heading towards two destinations: a seller who sells himself and a buyer who destroys himself, a seller who sells himself and a buyer who frees himself."

حَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ أُمَرَاءٌ سَيَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِحَدِيثِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسُوا مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَمْ يَرِدُوا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِحَدِيثِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَأُولَئِكَ يَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ نَبَتَ لَحْمُهُ مِنْ سُحْتٍ النَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ النَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَغَادٍ بَائِعٌ نَفْسَهُ وَمُوبِقٌ رَقَبَتَهُ وَغَادٍ مُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ وَمُعْتِقٌ رَقَبَتَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us, and there were nine of us. He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. Whoever does not believe their lies and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is of me, and I am of hi, and he will come to me at the Cistern."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4207)

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us, and there were nine of us. He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. [AI] "We used to sit at the door of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , waiting for him to come out for the Dhuhr prayer. When he came out to us, he said, 'Listen,' and we replied, 'We have listened.' Then he said, 'Listen,' and we replied, 'We have listened.' Then he said, 'There will be leaders over you who will not be fair, so do not help them in their injustice and do not believe them in their lies. For whoever supports them in their injustice and believes them in their lies, he will not be granted access to the Pond (of Al-Kawthar).' "

إِنَّا لَقُعُودٌ عَلَى بَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَنْتَظِرُ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ لِصَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ اسْمَعُوا فَقُلْنَا سَمِعْنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ اسْمَعُوا فَقُلْنَا سَمِعْنَا فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ فَلَا تُعِينُوهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَلَا تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ أَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ

[AI] "He was sitting by the Prophet's door ﷺ when he came out and we were sitting. He said, 'Listen.' We said, 'We are listening, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Verily, there will be rulers after me, so do not believe them in their lies, nor support them in their cruelty. Whoever believes them in their lies and supports them in their cruelty, he will not meet me at the Fountain (in Paradise).'"

أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَاعِدًا عَلَى بَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ وَنَحْنُ قُعُودٌ فَقَالَ «اسْمَعُوا» قُلْنَا سَمِعْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ مِنْ بَعْدِي فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَا تُعِينُوهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ»

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَنَحْنُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَمْسَةٌ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ فَقَالَ «أَتَسْمَعُونَ؟» قُلْنَا سَمِعْنَا مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالَ «اسْمَعُوا إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَيْسَ بِوَارِدٍ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ» رَوَاهُ مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ وَسُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ «أَمَا حَدِيثُ الثَّوْرِيِّ»

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us, and there were nine of us. He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. Whoever does not believe their lies and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is of me, and I am of hi, and he will come to me at the Cistern."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4207)

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said to Ka'ab ibn 'Ujrah, "May Allah protect you, O Ka'ab ibn 'Ujrah, from the rule of fools." Ka'ab asked, "What is the rule of fools?" The Prophet replied, "They are rulers who will come after me, neither following my guidance nor adhering to my Sunnah. Whoever believes in their lies and supports them in their injustice is not one of me, and I am not one of them. They will not join me at my Fountain. But those who do not believe in their lies and do not support them in their injustice are truly from me, and I am from them. They will join me at my Fountain. O Ka'ab ibn 'Ujrah, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sins, and prayers are either an offering or a proof."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ «أَعَاذَكَ اللَّهُ يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قَالَ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي لَا يَهْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيِي وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِي فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ لَيْسُوا مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا يَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَسَيَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ وَالصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ أَوْ قَالَ بُرْهَانٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, "O Ka'b ibn Ujrah, I seek refuge with Allah for you from the governance of fools." Ka'b asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the governance of fools?" He said, "It is to have rulers who will come after me, those who will enter upon them and believe their lies, and assist them in their oppression. They are not from me, and I am not from them, and they will not meet me by the Pool." Adh-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the summary.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ إِنِّي أُعِيذُكَ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ «أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah protect you from rulers who come after me." The companion asked, "Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Those who come to them and believe in them and help them in their injustice are not from me, and they will not reach my pool (of water on the Day of Judgment)." Sahih.

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَعَاذَكَ اللَّهُ مِنْ أُمَرَاءَ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي» قَالَ وَمَا هُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى جَوْرِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَا يَرِدَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ» صحيح

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah protect you, O Ka'ab bin Ujrah, from the leadership of fools." He asked, "What is the leadership of fools?" The Prophet ﷺ answered, "Leaders who will come after me and will not follow my guidance or adhere to my Sunnah. Whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing, they are not from me, and I am not from them. They will not enter my pool (in Paradise). But those who do not believe in their lies and do not support them in their wrongdoing, they are from me and I am from them. They will come to my pool. O Ka'ab bin Ujrah, the flesh that grows from unlawful sources will not enter Paradise. The fasting is a shield and charity extinguishes sins, and prayer is evidence (of one's faith). It is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, 'The flesh that grows from unlawful sources' and this was reported by Abu Bakr and Umar." This is summarized from the narration of Al-Dhahabi.

[AI] Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said to Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, "May Allah protect you, O Ka'b, from the leadership of the foolish." Ka'b asked, "And what is the leadership of the foolish, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "It is the princes who come after me, who do not follow my guidance, nor abide by my Sunnah. Whoever believes in their lies and supports them in their injustice is not of me, and I am not of them. They will not meet me at my pond. And whoever does not believe in their lies and does not support them in their injustice is of me, and I am of them. They will meet me at my pond. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sins, and prayer is a proof or an evidence. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, no meat that grew from unlawful sources will enter Paradise. The fire is more deserving of it. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are traveling for sale, either freeing themselves or ruining themselves."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ «أَعَاذَكَ اللَّهُ يَا كَعْبُ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قَالَ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي لَا يَهْدُونَ بِهَدْيِي وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِي فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ لَيْسُوا مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا يَرُدُّونَ عَلَى حَوْضِي وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَسَيَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي يَا كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ وَالصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ أَوْ قَالَ بُرْهَانٌ يَا كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ نَبَتَ مِنْ سُحْتٍ أَبَدًا النَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ النَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَمُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقُهَا أَوْ قَالَ فَمُوبِقُهَا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us, we were made up of nine; five and four. The first of the numbers for the Arabs, and the latter for the non-Arabs. He said: 'Listen, have you heard that after me there will leaders, whoever enters upon them and condones to their lies, and supports them in their oppression, then he is not from me and I am not from him, and he shall not drink with me from the Hawd. And whoever does not enter upon them, nor help them in their oppression, nor condones to their lies, then he is from me, and I am from him, and he shall drink with me at the Hawd.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2259)

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ تِسْعَةٌ خَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ أَحَدُ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ وَالْآخَرُ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ فَقَالَ «اسْمَعُوا أَوْ هَلْ سَمِعْتُمْ إِنَّهُ يَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَيْسَ بِوَارِدٍ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَهُوَ وَارِدٌ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ»

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us, and there were nine of us. He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. Whoever does not believe their lies and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is of me, and I am of hi, and he will come to me at the Cistern."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4207)

[AI] We were sitting by the door of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when he came out and said, "Listen." We replied, "We have listened." He said, "Listen." We said, "We have listened." He said, "Listen." We said, "We have listened." He said, "There will be leaders after me, do not believe them when they lie or support them in their injustice. Whoever believes them in their lies and helps them in their injustice will not reach the Hawd (a pool in paradise) with me."

كُنَّا قُعُودًا عَلَى بَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ «اسْمَعُوا» قُلْنَا قَدْ سَمِعْنَا قَالَ «اسْمَعُوا» قُلْنَا قَدْ سَمِعْنَا قَالَ «اسْمَعُوا» قُلْنَا قَدْ سَمِعْنَا قَالَ «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَا تُعِينُوهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ لَمْ يَرِدْ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ»

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us, and there were nine of us. He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. [AI] The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "After me, there will be leaders who will deceive people with their falsehoods, and whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing, then I am innocent of him and he is innocent of me. And whoever does not believe in their lies and does not support them in their injustice, then I am innocent of him and he is innocent of me."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «سَيَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ يَغْشَاهُمْ غَوَاشٍ النَّاسِ فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأَنَا مِنْهُ بَرِيءٌ وَهُوَ مِنِّي بَرِيءٌ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَهُوَ مِنِّي»

[AI] Verily, the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, I seek refuge in Allah for you from the leadership of the foolish. Indeed, there will be leaders who, when people come to them, they assist them in their wrongdoing and authenticate their lies. They are not from me and I am not from them, and I will not meet them at the Lake-Fount. But whoever does not go to them, and does not help them in their wrongdoing, and does not authenticate their lies, then he is from me and I am from him. And he will meet me at the Lake-Fount. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, prayer is a means of nearness, fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sins as water extinguishes fire. And people will come, offering themselves for sale, freeing themselves or bringing destruction upon themselves. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, indeed, flesh grown from unlawful things will not enter Paradise."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيَّةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ وَالنَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَمُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقٌ رَقَبَتَهُ وَمُوبِقُهَا يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ نَبَتَ مِنْ سُحْتٍ»

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah: 'O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, may Allah protect us from the rule of the foolish.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the rule of the foolish?' He said, 'Rulers who come after me without following my guidance and without following my tradition. Those who believe their lies and help them in their oppression are not from me, nor am I from them. They will not drink from my basin. But those who do not believe their lies and do not help them in their oppression are from me, and I am from them. They will drink from my basin.' O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sin, and prayer is evidence or a sacrifice. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are travelers, some selling themselves and freeing themselves, and some ruining themselves by selling [their religion]."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ «يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أَعَاذَنَا اللَّهُ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ «أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي لَا يَهْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيِي وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِي فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكِذْبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ لَيْسُوا مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا يَرِدُوا عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكِذْبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُمْ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَسَيَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ وَالصَّلَاةُ بُرْهَانٌ أَوْ قَالَ » قُرْبَانٌ يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ النَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَمُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقُهَا وَبَائِعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُوبِقُهَا «

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us, and there were nine of us. He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. Whoever does not believe their lies and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is of me, and I am of hi, and he will come to me at the Cistern."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4207)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ يَكْذِبُونَ فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ؛ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ؛ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ»

[AI] We were sitting at the door of the Prophet ﷺ when he came out and said, "Do you hear?" We said, "Yes, we have heard two or three times." He said, "Indeed, you will have rulers who will not be truthful and you should not believe them in their lies or support them in their injustice. For whoever believes them in their lies and supports them in their injustice will not meet me at the Pool (of Kawthar)".

كُنَّا قُعُودًا عَلَى بَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ «أَتَسْمَعُونَ؟» قُلْنَا قَدْ سَمِعْنَا مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَا تُعِينُوهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ»

[AI] "To me, Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I seek protection in Allah for you, O Ka'ab bin Ujrah, from rulers who will come after me. Whoever flatters them and believes in their lies, and helps them in their oppression, he is not from me, and I am not from him. And whoever does not flatter them, nor believes in their lies, nor helps them in their oppression, he is from me, and I am from him. He will meet me at the Pool.'"

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أُعِيذُكَ بِاللهِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ مِنْ أُمَرَاءٍ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي فَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ فِي كَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى جَوْرِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ أَوْ لَمْ يَغْشَهَا فَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى جَوْرِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] "To the messenger of Allah ﷺ , I seek refuge with Allah, O Ka'b bin 'Ajrah, from rulers who will come after me. Whoever covers their doors and supports them in their falsehood and assists them in their injustice, he is not from me and I am not from him. And whoever does not cover their doors or believe in their falsehood and does not assist them in their injustice, he is from me and I am from him. And he will come to the Pond (on the Day of Judgment)."

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أُعِيذُكَ بِاللهِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ مِنْ أُمَرَاءٍ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي فَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ فِي كَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى جَوْرِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ أَوْ لَمْ يَغْشَهَا فَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى جَوْرِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] "To the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: I seek refuge in Allah, O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, from leaders who will come after me. Whoever supports them in their falsehoods, believes in their lies, and assists them in their oppression, he is not of me and I am not of him. But whoever does not support them in their falsehoods, does not believe in their lies, and does not assist them in their oppression, he is of me and I am of him. He will join me at the Pond."

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أُعِيذُكَ بِاللهِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ مِنْ أُمَرَاءٍ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي فَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ فِي كَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى جَوْرِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ أَوْ لَمْ يَغْشَهَا فَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى جَوْرِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we were sitting on cushions made of animal skins, and he said, "There will be leaders after me. Whoever enters upon them and believes their lies and supports them in their oppression, he is not from me and I am not from him, and he will not come to the Hawd. But whoever does not believe their lies and does not support them in their oppression, he is from me and I am from him, and he will come to the Hawd."

خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ مِنْ آدَمٍ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهُ» سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَهُوَ وَارِدٌ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came out to us when we were nine; five Arabs and four non-Arabs. He said, "Listen! Have you not heard that there will be rulers after me? Whoever supports them in their falsehood and helps them in their injustice is not from me, and I am not from him. He will not come to the Pond. But whoever does not support them in their falsehood and does not help them in their injustice is from me, and I am from him. He will come to the Pond."

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ تِسْعَةٌ خَمْسَةٌ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ فَقَالَ «اسْمَعُوا أَمَا سَمِعْتُمْ أَنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَيْسَ بِوَارِدٍ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah protect you from rulers who come after me." I asked, "And what is that?" He said, "Those who enter upon them and support them in their lies and aid them in their oppression, they are not of me and I am not of them, and they will not come to my Pond. But those who do not enter upon them, who do not believe in their lies, and who do not support them in their oppression, they are of me and I am of them, and they will come to my Pond."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَعَاذَكَ اللهُ مِنْ أُمَرَاءَ يَكُونُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي» قُلْتُ وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ فَقَالَ «مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَذَلِكَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى حَوْضِي»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah protect you from leaders who will come after me." I asked, "What is that?" He said, "Those who enter upon them and believe in their lies, and help them in their injustice, they are not from me and I am not from them, and they will not enter my Pool. But those who do not enter upon them, and do not believe in their lies, and do not help them in their injustice, they are from me and I am from them, and they will enter my Pool."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَعَاذَكَ اللهُ مِنْ أُمَرَاءَ يَكُونُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي» قُلْتُ وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ فَقَالَ «مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَذَلِكَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى حَوْضِي»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and I was the seventh of seven, five of whom were from the Quraysh tribe. He said, "Listen! Will you not listen?" He repeated it three times. "Indeed, there will be rulers after me. Whoever enters upon them and supports them in their falsehood and helps them in their wrongdoing, he is not from me and I am not from him. I disassociate myself from him and he disassociates himself from me. But whoever does not enter upon them, does not believe in their falsehood, and does not aid them in their wrongdoing, then he is from me and I am from him. He will meet me at the Pool".

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا سَابِعُ سَبْعَةٍ مِنَّا خَمْسَةٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَقَالَ «أَلَا هَلْ تَسْتَمِعُونَ؟» قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا «إِنَّهُ» سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَأَنَا مِنْهُ بَرِيءٌ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَلْقَانِي فَيَكُونُ مَعِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us when we were seven on cushions and said, "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, I seek refuge in Allah from the leadership of fools." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the leadership of fools?" He said, "Leaders who will come after me, whoever comes to them and believes in their lies and supports them in their oppression, he is not from me and I am not from him, and he will not come to the Pond. And whoever does not come to them and does not believe in their lies and does not support them in their oppression, he is from me and I am from him, and he will come to the Pond."

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ سَبْعَةٌ عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ فَقَالَ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ «أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we were seven on cushions and said, "O Ka'b bin 'Ujrah, I seek refuge for you in Allah from the rule of fools." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the rule of fools?" He said, "Rulers who will come after me, whoever goes to them and believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing, he is not from me and I am not from him, and he will not come to the Pond (in Paradise). But whoever does not go to them, does not believe in their lies, and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is from me and I am from him, and he will come to the Pond."

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ سَبْعَةٌ عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ فَقَالَ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ «أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came out to us, while we were seven people sitting on cushions. He said, "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, I seek refuge for you in Allah from the leadership of the foolish." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the leadership of the foolish?" He said, "They are rulers who will come after me, and whoever enters their presence and believes in their lies and supports them in their injustice, he is not from me and I am not from him, and he will not come to the Hawd (a reservoir in Paradise where the Prophet will give his companions water to drink). But whoever does not go to them and does not believe in their lies and does not support them in their injustice, then he is from me and I am from him, and he will come to the Hawd."

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ سَبْعَةٌ عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ فَقَالَ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ «أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There will be rulers over you. Whoever supports them in their falsehood and helps them in their oppression, and believes their lies, then he is not of me and I am not of him. He will not drink from my pond. And whoever does not support them in their falsehood, does not believe their lies, and does not help them in their oppression, then he is of me and I am of him. He will drink from my pond."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّهَا سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ غَشِيَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَا أَنَا مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَغْشَ أَبْوَابَهُمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَهُوَ وَارِدٌ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ka'ab bin 'Ujrah, "There will be rulers after me, and their description is of tyranny. So, whoever enters upon them and believes their lies and supports them in their transgressions, then he is not from me and I am not from him. He will not be granted access to the Basin (on the Day of Judgment). But whoever does not believe their lies and does not support them in their transgressions, then he is from me and I am from him. He will be granted access to the Basin, O Ka'ab bin 'Ujrah. It is more deserving for meat that grows from unlawful sources not to enter Paradise, and the Hellfire is more deserving for it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ وَصَفَهُمْ بِالْجَوْرِ فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى فُجُورِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلن يَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى فُجُورِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ يَحِقُّ لِلَحْمٍ نَبَتَ مِنْ سُحْتٍ أَلَّا يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ النَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِ وَالنَّارُ أَحَقُّ بِهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon us while there were nine of us, and among us were six non-Arabs. He said, "There will be rulers who will be supported by people who believe their lies, help them in their oppression, and fulfill their deceitful plans. Such individuals are not from me, nor am I from them, and they will not come to the Pool (of Paradise)."

دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ تِسْعَةٌ وَفِينَا سِتَّةٌ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَأَمْضَى لَهُمْ مَكْرَهُمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَا أَنَا مِنْهُ وَلَا يَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon us and said, "Who is here? Can you hear me? Verily, after me there will be leaders who will do acts of disobedience to Allah. Whoever participates in their actions and helps them in their oppression, he is not from me and I am not from him. And whoever does not participate in their actions and does not support them in their oppression, he is from me and I am from him."

دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَهُنَا؟ هَلْ تَسْمَعُونَ؟ إِنْ مِنْ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ يَعْمَلُونَ بِغَيْرِ طَاعَةِ اللهِ فَمَنْ شَارَكَهُمْ فِي عَمَلِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُشَارِكْهُمْ فِي عَمَلِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said, "Indeed, there will be rulers after me who will be given authority from pulpits. When they descend, you will accuse them of embezzlement, and their hearts will accuse you of hypocrisy. Whoever believes in them when they lie and supports them in their oppression is not from me, and I am not from him. He will not meet me at the pond. But whoever does not believe in them when they lie and does not support them in their oppression is from me and I am from him. He will meet me at the pond."

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ مِنْ بَعْدِي يُعْطُونَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ عَلَى مَنَابِرَ فَإِذَا نَزَلُوا اخْتَلَسْتَ مِنْهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ أَنْتَنُ مِنَ الْجِيَفِ فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَا يَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Ka'ab bin 'Ujrah, may Allah protect you from the rulers who come after me, whoever enters upon them and believes in their lies, and supports them in their injustice, is not from me and I am not from him, and he will not come to the pond (in Paradise)."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أَعَاذَكَ اللهُ مِنْ أُمَرَاءَ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If you have rulers who lie and help them in their oppression, then that person is not from me and I am not from him. He will not reach the Pond (in Paradise). But if someone enters upon them and does not believe their lies and does not assist them in their oppression, then he is from me and I am from him. Oh Ka'ab ibn Ujrah, flesh and blood that grows from unlawful sources, all flesh and blood that grows from unlawful sources will not enter Paradise. The Fire is more deserving of them. Oh Ka'ab ibn Ujrah, Oh Ka'ab ibn Ujrah, you are like a walking perfume, spreading fragrance wherever you go. Your neck is ready to be freed (from Hellfire) and your neck is ready to be destroyed. Oh Ka'ab ibn Ujrah, prayer is evidence and fasting is a protection."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَا أَنَا مِنْهُ وَلَا يَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ وَلَا دَمٌ نَبَتَا مِنْ سُحْتٍ كُلُّ لَحْمٍ وَدَمٍ نَبَتَا مِنْ سُحْتٍ فَالنَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِمَا يا كعب بن عجرة يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ غَادِيَانِ رَائِحَانِ فَغَادٍ فِي فَكَاكِ رَقَبَتِهِ فَمُعْتِقُهَا وَغَادٍ فَمُوبِقُهَا يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلَاةُ بُرْهَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you have rulers who enter upon them and believe in their lies and help them in their injustice, then they are not from me and I am not from them. They will not enter the Pond (in Paradise). And whoever enters upon them but does not believe in their lies and does not help them in their injustice, then he is from me and I am from him. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, indeed, no flesh or blood that grows from unlawful things enters Paradise. Every flesh and blood that grows from unlawful things, then the Fire is more deserving of it. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, he who has a good smell and is free from scent remains free, and he who has a bad smell and is stuck in it remains stuck. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, prayer is evidence and fasting is protection."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَا أَنَا مِنْهُ وَلَا يَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ وَلَا دَمٌ نَبَتَا مِنْ سُحْتٍ كُلُّ لَحْمٍ وَدَمٍ نَبَتَا مِنْ سُحْتٍ فَالنَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِمَا يا كعب بن عجرة يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ غَادِيَانِ رَائِحَانِ فَغَادٍ فِي فَكَاكِ رَقَبَتِهِ فَمُعْتِقُهَا وَغَادٍ فَمُوبِقُهَا يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلَاةُ بُرْهَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If you have rulers who are entered upon by people, and they believe their lies and support them in their wrongdoing, then they are not of me and I am not of them. They will not come to the Pool (in Paradise). But whoever is entered upon by them and does not believe their lies or support them in their wrongdoing, then he is of me and I am of him. O Ka'b bin Ajrah, certainly, flesh and blood that grows from unlawful sources will not enter Paradise. The fire is more deserving of them. O Ka'b bin Ajrah, O Ka'b bin Ajrah, you have the fragrance of a sweet basil. So, go and free your neck (from the punishment of slander) and smell its fragrance, and go and mislead and corrupt (the people) so that you may taste its fragrance. O Ka'b bin Ajrah, prayer is evidence (of one's faith) and fasting is a shield."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَا أَنَا مِنْهُ وَلَا يَرِدُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ وَلَا دَمٌ نَبَتَا مِنْ سُحْتٍ كُلُّ لَحْمٍ وَدَمٍ نَبَتَا مِنْ سُحْتٍ فَالنَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِمَا يا كعب بن عجرة يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ غَادِيَانِ رَائِحَانِ فَغَادٍ فِي فَكَاكِ رَقَبَتِهِ فَمُعْتِقُهَا وَغَادٍ فَمُوبِقُهَا يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلَاةُ بُرْهَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ»

"The Messenger of Allah came out to us, and there were nine of us. He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. Whoever does not believe their lies and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is of me, and I am of hi, and he will come to me at the Cistern."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4207)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَا يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ عَلَى كَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَيَرِدُ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي»
