[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to Ka'ab ibn 'Ujrah, "May Allah protect you, O Ka'ab ibn 'Ujrah, from the rule of fools." Ka'ab asked, "What is the rule of fools?" The Prophet replied, "They are rulers who will come after me, neither following my guidance nor adhering to my Sunnah. Whoever believes in their lies and supports them in their injustice is not one of me, and I am not one of them. They will not join me at my Fountain. But those who do not believe in their lies and do not support them in their injustice are truly from me, and I am from them. They will join me at my Fountain. O Ka'ab ibn 'Ujrah, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sins, and prayers are either an offering or a proof."  

الحاكم:٢٦٥أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ «أَعَاذَكَ اللَّهُ يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ» قَالَ وَمَا إِمَارَةُ السُّفَهَاءِ؟ قَالَ أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي لَا يَهْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيِي وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِي فَمَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ لَيْسُوا مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا يَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَسَيَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ حَوْضِي يَا كَعْبَ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ وَالصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ أَوْ قَالَ بُرْهَانٌ

"The Messenger of Allah said to me: 'I seek refuge in Allah for you O Ka'b bin Ujrah from leader that will be after me. Whoever comes to their doors to approve of their lies and supports them in their oppression, then he is not of me and I am not of him, and he will not meet me at the Hawd. And whoever comes to their doors, or he does not come, and he does not approve of their lies and he does not support them in their oppression, then he is from me and I am from him, and he will meet me at the Hawd. Ka'ab bin Ujrah! Salat is clear proof, and Sawm (fasting) is an impregnable shield, and Sadaqah (charity) extinguishes sins just as water extinguishes fire. O Ka'b bin Ujrah! There is no flesh raised that sprouts from the unlawful except that the Fire is more appropriate for it.'"

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُوسَى وَأَيُّوبُ بْنُ عَائِذٍ الطَّائِيُّ يُضَعَّفُ وَيُقَالُ كَانَ يَرَى رَأْىَ الإِرْجَاءِ وَسَأَلْتُ مُحَمَّدًا عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَلَمْ يَعْرِفْهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُوسَى وَاسْتَغْرَبَهُ جِدًّا

[Machine] Narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, I seek refuge with Allah for you from the leadership of fools." Ka'b asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what is that?" He replied: "There will be rulers after me, that whoever comes to them and believes their words and supports them in their injustice, then he is not of me and I am not of him, and they will not come to me at the Pool (of Al-Kawthar). And whoever does not come to them and does not believe their words and does not support them in their injustice, then he is from me and I am from him, and those will come to me at the Pool (of Al-Kawthar). O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, prayer is a sacrifice, fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sins as water extinguishes fire. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, those whose flesh is nurtured by unlawful things will not enter Paradise. Fire is more deserving for them. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are heading towards two destinations: a seller who sells himself and a buyer who destroys himself, a seller who sells himself and a buyer who frees himself."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, "May Allah protect you from the rule of the foolish." He asked, "What is the rule of the foolish?" The Prophet ﷺ responded, "It is when leaders come after me who do not follow my guidance and do not adhere to my tradition (sunnah). Those who believe them in their lies and support them in their injustices are not from me, nor am I from them. They will not reach my fountain. However, those who do not believe them in their lies and do not support them in their injustices are from me and I am from them. They will reach my fountain. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, fasting is a protection, charity extinguishes sins, and prayer is evidence. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, no flesh that has grown from unlawful means will enter paradise. The Fire is more deserving of it. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are heading towards either buying or freeing themselves, and there are those who sell themselves and destroy themselves."  

أحمد:١٤٤٤١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

Whoever believes in their lies and supports them in their injustice is not of me, and I am not of them. They will not meet me at my pond. And whoever does not believe in their lies and does not support them in their injustice is of me, and I am of them. They will meet me at my pond. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sins, and prayer is a proof or an evidence. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, no meat that grew from unlawful sources will enter Paradise. The fire is more deserving of it. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are traveling for sale, either freeing themselves or ruining themselves."

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجَاهُ» صحيح

O Ka'ab bin Ujrah, the flesh that grows from unlawful sources will not enter Paradise. The fasting is a shield and charity extinguishes sins, and prayer is evidence (of one's faith). It is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, 'The flesh that grows from unlawful sources' and this was reported by Abu Bakr and Umar." This is summarized from the narration of Al-Dhahabi.

[Machine] Verily, the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, I seek refuge in Allah for you from the leadership of the foolish. Indeed, there will be leaders who, when people come to them, they assist them in their wrongdoing and authenticate their lies. They are not from me and I am not from them, and I will not meet them at the Lake-Fount. But whoever does not go to them, and does not help them in their wrongdoing, and does not authenticate their lies, then he is from me and I am from him. And he will meet me at the Lake-Fount. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, prayer is a means of nearness, fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sins as water extinguishes fire. And people will come, offering themselves for sale, freeing themselves or bringing destruction upon themselves. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, indeed, flesh grown from unlawful things will not enter Paradise."  

ابن حبّان:١٧٢٣أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيَّةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ وَالنَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَمُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقٌ رَقَبَتَهُ وَمُوبِقُهَا يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ نَبَتَ مِنْ سُحْتٍ»

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah: 'O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, may Allah protect us from the rule of the foolish.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the rule of the foolish?' He said, 'Rulers who come after me without following my guidance and without following my tradition. Those who believe their lies and help them in their oppression are not from me, nor am I from them. They will not drink from my basin. But those who do not believe their lies and do not help them in their oppression are from me, and I am from them. They will drink from my basin.' O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sin, and prayer is evidence or a sacrifice. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are travelers, some selling themselves and freeing themselves, and some ruining themselves by selling [their religion]."

I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the leadership of fools?" He said, "Leaders who will come after me, whoever comes to them and believes in their lies and supports them in their oppression, he is not from me and I am not from him, and he will not come to the Pond. And whoever does not come to them and does not believe in their lies and does not support them in their oppression, he is from me and I am from him, and he will come to the Pond."

He said, "They are rulers who will come after me, and whoever enters their presence and believes in their lies and supports them in their injustice, he is not from me and I am not from him, and he will not come to the Hawd (a reservoir in Paradise where the Prophet will give his companions water to drink). But whoever does not go to them and does not believe in their lies and does not support them in their injustice, then he is from me and I am from him, and he will come to the Hawd."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If you have rulers who lie and help them in their oppression, then that person is not from me and I am not from him. He will not reach the Pond (in Paradise). But if someone enters upon them and does not believe their lies and does not assist them in their oppression, then he is from me and I am from him. Oh Ka'ab ibn Ujrah, flesh and blood that grows from unlawful sources, all flesh and blood that grows from unlawful sources will not enter Paradise. The Fire is more deserving of them. Oh Ka'ab ibn Ujrah, Oh Ka'ab ibn Ujrah, you are like a walking perfume, spreading fragrance wherever you go. Your neck is ready to be freed (from Hellfire) and your neck is ready to be destroyed. Oh Ka'ab ibn Ujrah, prayer is evidence and fasting is a protection."

They will not come to the Pool (in Paradise). But whoever is entered upon by them and does not believe their lies or support them in their wrongdoing, then he is of me and I am of him. O Ka'b bin Ajrah, certainly, flesh and blood that grows from unlawful sources will not enter Paradise. The fire is more deserving of them. O Ka'b bin Ajrah, O Ka'b bin Ajrah, you have the fragrance of a sweet basil. So, go and free your neck (from the punishment of slander) and smell its fragrance, and go and mislead and corrupt (the people) so that you may taste its fragrance. O Ka'b bin Ajrah, prayer is evidence (of one's faith) and fasting is a shield."

"The Messenger of Allah said to me: 'I seek refuge in Allah for you O Ka'b bin Ujrah from leader that will be after me. Whoever comes to their doors to approve of their lies and supports them in their oppression, then he is not of me and I am not of him, and he will not meet me at the Hawd. And whoever comes to their doors, or he does not come, and he does not approve of their lies and he does not support them in their oppression, then he is from me and I am from him, and he will meet me at the Hawd. Ka'ab bin Ujrah! Salat is clear proof, and Sawm (fasting) is an impregnable shield, and Sadaqah (charity) extinguishes sins just as water extinguishes fire. O Ka'b bin Ujrah! There is no flesh raised that sprouts from the unlawful except that the Fire is more appropriate for it.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 614)

"أُعيذُكَ باللهِ يا كعْبُ بن عُجْرة! من أمراءَ يكونون (من) بعدى فمن غَشِي أَبْوَابَهُمْ، فصدَّقهم في كَذبِهْم، وأَعانَهْم على ظُلمِهمْ، فليسَ منى، ولَسْتُ منه، ولا يَرِدُ عليَّ الحوضَ، ومن غَشِى أَوْ لَم يغشَ، فَلَم يُصَدِّقْهم في كَذِبِهمْ ولم يُعِنْهم على ظُلمِهِمْ، فهو مِنِّي، وأنا منْهُ، وَسَيَرِدُ عليَّ الحوضَ، يا كعْبُ بنَ عُجْرَةَ! الصلاةُ بُرْهَانُ، والصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ، والصَّدَقَةُ تُطَفئُ الخطيئةَ، كما يُطفِئِ الماءُ النارَ، يا كعبُ بن عُجْرَة! إِنَّهُ لا يَرْبُو لَحْمٌ من سُحْتٍ إِلَّا كانت النارُ أَوْلَى بِه".

"يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ: أَعَاذَكَ الله مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفُهَاءِ، أُمَرَاءُ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِى لَا يَقْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيى، وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِى، فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ، وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ، فَأُولَئِكَ لَيْسُوا مِنِّى، وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ، وَلَا يَرِدُونَ عَلَى حَوْضِى وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ، وَلَمْ يُعنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ، فَأُولَئِكَ مِنِّى، وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ، وَسَيَرِدُونَ عَلَى حَوْضِى، يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ: الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ، وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْماءُ النَّارَ، وَالصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ -أَوْ قَالَ: بُرْهَانٌ- يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ نَبَتَ مِنْ سُحْتٍ، النَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِ، يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ النَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ: فَمُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقُهَا، وَبَائِعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُوبِقُهَا".
