The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray on a mat and on a tanned skin.  

أبو داود:٦٥٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ بِمَعْنَى الإِسْنَادِ وَالْحَدِيثِ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي عَوْنٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ وَالْفَرْوَةِ الْمَدْبُوغَةِ

الحاكم:٩٥٠ – حَدَّثَنَا مُكْرَمُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْقَاضِي بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزِّبْرِقَانِ ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي عَوْنٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ «يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ وَالْفَرْوَةِ الْمَدْبُوغَةِ»  

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ بِذِكْرِ الْفَرْوَةِ إِنَّمَا خَرَّجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ» على شرط مسلم

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ»
