[Machine] In the pre-Islamic era, my father's name was Aziz. However, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named him Abdur-Rahman.  

كَانَ اسْمُ أَبِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عَزِيزًا فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ  

[Machine] My name during the Pre-Islamic era was Abd Amr, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named me Abd al-Rahman.  

«كَانَ اسْمِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عَبْدَ عَمْرٍو فَسَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ»  

[Machine] The name of Abdurrahman ibn Abi Bakr As-Siddiq during the pre-Islamic period was Abd Al-Uzza. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ named him Abdurrahman.  

«كَانَ اسْمُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عَبْدَ الْعُزَّى فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ»  

[Machine] "My name during the era of ignorance was 'Abd Amr, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ renamed me 'Abd al-Rahman'."  

«كَانَ اسْمِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عَبْدَ عَمْرٍو فَسَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ»  

[Machine] "My name during the era of ignorance was Fulan, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named me Abdullah."  

«كَانَ اسْمِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فُلَانٌ فَسَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ اللهِ»  

[Machine] "My name during the time of ignorance was so and so, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named me Abdullah."  

«كَانَ اسْمِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فُلَانٌ فَسَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ اللهِ»  

[Machine] That Abdullah ibn Awf's name during the pre-Islamic period was Abdullah al-Kaaba, but the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , named him Abdullah ibn Awf.  

أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ ؓ كَانَ اسْمُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عَبْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ «فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ»  

[Machine] "My name was Abd Amr, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named me Abdur Rahman."
