[Machine] Khalifa ibn Khayyat narrated, mentioning this lineage and added, "Abdul Rahman was called Abu Muhammad, and his name during the pre-Islamic era was Abdul Ka'bah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ named him Abdul Rahman." According to the criteria of Bukhari and Muslim.  

الحاكم:٥٣٣٥أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا

ثَنَا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ فَذَكَرَ هَذَا النَّسَبَ وَزَادَ «وَكَانَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يُكَنَّى أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عَبْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ» على شرط البخاري ومسلم
