1.31 [Machine] In the mouthwash
[Machine] Ali entered the courtyard after performing the dawn prayer. He sat in the courtyard and then said to a young boy accompanying him, "Bring me some water for purification." The boy brought him a container of water and a basin. Ali said, "May God reward you," and we, who were sitting, observed him. He inserted his right hand into the water, brought it to his mouth, rinsed and inhaled, and dispersed with his left hand. He did this three times, then said, "Whoever wishes to see the purification of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , this is his purification."

"Whoever performs Wudu' then let him sniff water in the nose and blow it out, and whoever uses small stones (to remove filth) then make it odd (numbered)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 88)
1.33 [Machine] In the trimming of the beard

[Machine] The translation of the given Arabic sentence into English is: "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'When you perform ablution, then perfect your ablution and go between your fingers.'"
1.35 [Machine] Woe to the followers from the fire
The Messenger of Allah said: 'Woe to the heels because of Hell-fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 451)
[Machine] He used to pass by us while people were performing ablution from Al-Mitharah (water tank) and saying, "Perform your ablution perfectly." Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ said, "Woe to the heels from the fire." Abu Muhammad said, "This hadith of Abdullah bin Amr amazed me the most."

[Machine] I saw Uthman perform ablution, then he wiped his head and both of his ears, both the outside and the inside of them. Then he said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do as I have done or similar to what I have done."
1.37 [Machine] The Prophet (PBUH) used to take new water for his head.
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing ablution with a jug. He rinsed his mouth, sniffed water into his nostrils, then washed his face three times. He then washed his hands three times, wiped his head, and washed his feet until he made sure they were clean. After that, he wiped his head again with water that was not from his hands." Abu Muhammad said, "He meant by this the explanation of wiping the first time."
1.38 [Machine] Wiping on the turban
[Machine] "He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his socks and turban." It was said to Abu Muhammad, "Do you follow this practice?" He replied, "Yes, by Allah."
1.39 [Machine] In Arabic, the heading "فِي نَضْحِ الْفَرْجِ بَعْدَ الْوُضُوءِ" translates to "In cleansing the private parts after ablution.
The Prophet (my peace be upon him) washed the limbs in ablution twice. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 136)
1.40 [Machine] The towel after ablution
[Machine] Regarding the ritual purification of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from janabah (major ritual impurity), it was narrated that he used to command for a vessel to be brought and then he would pour water with his right hand onto his left hand, and then wash his private parts and anything that was affected by impurity. Then, he would perform ablution (wudu) for prayer, and then wash his head and the rest of his body, and then he would turn and wash his feet. Afterwards, he would be given a cloth and he would place it between his hands and then he would shake his fingers, making sure not to touch the cloth with his hands.
1.41 [Machine] In wiping on the socks
One night I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. He asked (me), "Have you got water with you?" I replied, "Yes" So he got down from his she-camel and went away till he disappeared in the darkness of the night. Then he came back and I poured water for him from the pot (for the ablution). He washed his face and hands while he was wearing a woollen cloak (the sleeves of which were narrow), so he could not take his arms out of it. So he took them out from underneath the cloak. Then he washed his forearms and passed his wet hands over his head. Then I tried to take off his Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather), but he said, "Leave them, for I have performed ablution before putting them on." And so he passed his wet hands over them. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5799)
1.42 [Machine] Timing in Wiping
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ allowed three days and nights for the traveller and one day and night for one who is not travelling (i.e., with regard to wiping over the khuffain or leather slippers) (Using translation from Aḥmad 1126)
1.43 [Machine] Wiping over the two shoes.
[Machine] I saw Ali performing ablution and wiping over his shoes. Then he stretched out and said, "If it were not for the fact that I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing as you have seen me do, I would have thought that wiping the inside of the feet is more deserving of wiping than the outer side." Abu Muhammad said, "This Hadith is abrogated by the saying of Allah, 'And wipe over your heads and your feet to the ankles.'"
1.44 [Machine] The saying after ablution.
“Whoever gets up when the sun has risen and does wudoo’. and does it well, then stands and prays two rak'ahs, his sins will be forgiven him and he will be as his mother bore him.ʿ 'Uqbah bin 'Amir said: I said: Praise be to Allah Who has blessed me by enabling me to hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. 'Umar bin al-Khattab ؓ , who was sitting in front of me, said to me: Are you surprised by this? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said something even more amazing than this before you came. I said: What was it, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you? 'Umar said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿWhoever does wudoo’ and does it well, then lifts his gaze towards heaven and says, “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner or associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger,ʿ the eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him and he may enter by whichever of them he wishes.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 121)
1.45 [Machine] The Virtue of Ablution
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever performs ablution as commanded and prays as commanded, his previous sins will be forgiven." Is that true, O 'Uqbah? He said, "Yes."
Messenger of Allah said: "When a Muslim, or believer, performs Wudu', washing his face, every evil that he looked at with his eyes leaves with the water - or with the last drop of water, or an expression similar to that - and when he washes his hands, every evil he did with his hands leaves with the water - or with the last drop of water - until he becomes free of sin." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2)
[Machine] I was with Salman under a tree, and he took a dry branch from it and shook it until its leaves fell. He said, "Do you not ask me why I did this?" I said to him, "Why did you do it?" He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did the same to me." Then he said, "Verily, when a Muslim performs ablution well and prays the five prayers, his sins fall off just like these leaves." Then he recited, "And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember." [Hud 114]
1.46 [Machine] Wudu for every prayer
[Machine] The English translation of the given Arabic sentence is: "The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to perform ablution for every prayer, and one of us would be sufficient with one ablution until he invalidated it."
1.47 [Machine] There is no wudu except from a state of impurity.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If any one of you offers prayer and feels a movement between his paddocks, but is doubtful whether or not his ablution broke, he should not cease praying unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 177)
1.48 [Machine] Wudu from sleep
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, the eyes are the ropes of the mind. So when the eye sleeps, the mind is free." It was asked to Abu Muhammad Abdullah, do you say this? He said, "No, when one sleeps while standing, ablution is not required for him."
1.49 [Machine] In the fold
"I suffered from a severe and troubling case of Al-Madhi. I was performing Ghusl often because of it. So I mentioned that to Messenger of Allah and asked him about it. He said: "You only need to perform Wudu for that." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! How about when it gets on my clothes?" He said: "It is sufficient for you to take a handful of water and sprinkle it n your garment wherever you see that it has touched it." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 115)
1.50 [Machine] Wudu from touching the male genitalia.
Abdullah ibn AbuBakr reported that he heard Urwah say: I entered upon Marwan ibn al-Hakam. We mentioned things that render the ablution void. Marwan said: Does it become void by touching the penis? Urwah replied: This I do not know. Marwan said: Busrah daughter of Safwan reported to me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who touches his penis should perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 181)
[Machine] She heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Whoever touches his private parts should perform ablution." Abu Muhammad said, "This is more reliable in touching the private parts." And he said, "Ablution is more effective/strengthening."
1.51 [Machine] Wudu from what the fire has touched
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say this: Ablution is obligatory (for one who takes anything) touched by fire. (Using translation from Muslim 351)
1.52 [Machine] The license to break ablution.
That he saw Messenger of Allah ﷺ cutting a piece of mutton from its shoulder part he was carrying in his hand. When he was called for prayer, he put it down and the knife with which he was cutting it. Then he stood up and offered the prayer without performing new ablution. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5462)
1.53 [Machine] Wudu (Ablution) with seawater
[Machine] A group of men from the Banu Mudlij came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are the people of this sea who hunt with the spears. We spend the night and two nights, three nights, and four nights on this sea, and we carry fresh water with us to drink. If we perform ablution with it, we fear for ourselves. If we prioritize ourselves and perform ablution from the sea, we find something in ourselves as a result of that, and we fear that it is not pure." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perform ablution from it, for its water is pure, its dead creatures are permissible."
A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Messenger of Allah, we travel on the sea and take a small quantity of water with us. If we use this for ablution, we would suffer from thirst. Can we perform ablution with sea water? The Messenger ﷺ replied: Its water is pure and what dies in it is lawful food. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 83)
1.54 [Machine] Wudu from stagnant water
The Prophet ( sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam ) said : None amongst you should urinate in stagnant water , and then wash in it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 69)
1.55 [Machine] The Amount of Water That Does Not Become Impure
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ being asked about water that is in a ditch in the ground and is used by animals and beasts. He said, "When the water reaches the amount of two qullat (a unit of volume), it does not become impure."
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about water and how some animals and carnivorous beasts might drink from it. He said: 'If the water is more than two Qullahs, it will not carry filth.'"[1] [1]It comes with some explanation in Sunan At Timidhi 'Abdah (one of the narrators) said: "Muhammad bin Ishaq said: 'A Qullah refers to Jirar (These are two nouns describing large casks that are used to hold water), and a Qullah is the thing that drinking water is held in."' At-Tirmidhi said: "This is the saying of Ash Shafa'i, Ahmad and Ishaq. They say that when the water is two Qullahs then nothing makes it impure, as long as it does not change its smell, and its taste. And they say, it is approximately fifty Qirbahs (waterskins)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 52)
1.56 [Machine] Wudu with used water
[Machine] I heard Jabir saying, "The Prophet ﷺ came to visit me while I was sick and not conscious. He performed ablution (wudu) and poured some of his ablution water on me, and I became conscious."
1.57 [Machine] The superiority of ablution by the ablution of women
[Machine] A woman from the wives of the Prophet ﷺ performed ablution with a container of janabah (impurity) water. The Prophet ﷺ stood up to do ghusl (ritual bath) from the same water. She said, "I have already performed ablution with it before you." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, janabah does not affect the water."
This tradition has also been narrated on the authority of ‘A’ishah through a different chain. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 99)
1.58 [Machine] When the cat reaches the vessel
Kabshah, daughter of Ka'b ibn Malik and wife of Ibn AbuQatadah, reported: AbuQatadah visited (me) and I poured out water for him for ablution. A cat came and drank some of it and he tilted the vessel for it until it drank some of it. Kabshah said: He saw me looking at him; he asked me: Are you surprised, my niece? I said: Yes. He then reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: It is not unclean; it is one of those (males or females) who go round among you. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 75)
1.59 [Machine] In the birth of a dog
The Messenger of Allah said: 'If a dog licks a vessel, wash it seven times and rub it with dust the eight times." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 365)
1.60 [Machine] The mouse falls into the butter
[Machine] The translation of the phrase "رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَلْقُوهَا وَمَا حَوْلَهَا وَكُلُوهُ»" into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah throws it and everything around it and devours it.'"
1.61 [Machine] Protection from Urine.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by two graves and he said, "Verily, they are both being punished in their graves. And they are not being punished for something major. As for one of them, he used to walk around spreading gossip. And the other did not protect himself from urine or from urine splashes." Then he took a moist date palm leaf and broke it into pieces, and then inserted a piece at the head of each grave. Then he said, "Perhaps their punishment will be lightened until such time when this leaf dries up."
1.62 [Machine] Urination in the mosque
[Machine] An Arab man came to the Prophet ﷺ . When he stood to urinate in a corner of the mosque, the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ shouted at him. The Prophet ﷺ stopped them and then called for a bucket of water and poured it over his urine.
1.63 [Machine] The urine of the boy who hasn't eaten.
[Machine] She brought her son to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who had not reached the age to eat food yet, so he made him sit in his lap. The child urinated on him, so the Prophet called for water and poured it on the area, but did not wash it.
1.64 [Machine] The earth purifies itself.
"I am a woman whose hem is lengthy, and I may walk through a dirty place. The Messenger of Allah said: 'That which comes after it purifies it.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 531)
1.65 [Machine] Tayammum
[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, then we camped. He called for ablution (wudu) and performed it. Then the call to prayer was announced and he led the people in prayer. When he finished his prayer, he saw a man who had not prayed with the people, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "What prevented you, O so-and-so, from praying with the people?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I was in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) and had no water." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then perform dry ablution (tayammum) as it is sufficient for you."
[Machine] Two men went on a journey. When prayer time came, they did not have water with them. So they performed Tayammum on clean ground and prayed. Later, they found water during the appropriate time. One of them repeated his prayer with ablution, while the other did not repeat it. Then they came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and narrated what had happened. He said to the one who did not repeat his prayer, "You have followed the Sunnah and your prayer is accepted." And he said to the one who performed ablution and repeated his prayer, "You will have double the reward."
1.66 [Machine] Tayammum once
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say about Tayammum, "Strike the face and hands." Abdullah confirmed the authenticity of this narration.
She borrowed a necklace from Asma', and she lost it. The Prophet sent some people to look for it, and the time for prayer came so they prayed without ablution. When they came to the Prophet they complained to him about that, then the Verse of dry ablution was revealed. Usaid bin Hudair said: "May Allah reward you with good, for by Allah, nothing ever happens to you but Allah grants you a way out and blesses the Muslims thereby." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 568)
1.67 [Machine] In Ghusl from Janabah
[Machine] "I presented water to the Prophet ﷺ, and he poured it onto his hands, and he began washing his private parts. After he finished washing, he wiped his hands on the ground or on a wall. Sulaiman had doubts about this, then the Prophet ﷺ proceeded to rinse his mouth, inhale water, and wash his face, arms, and pour water over his head and body. After he finished, he stepped aside and washed his feet. I then gave him a towel, but he refused and instead shook his hands. I said, 'I will cover him until he finishes washing.' Sulaiman said that Salim had mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ washing himself in this manner was due to Janabah (state of impurity)."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to begin by washing his hands, then perform ablution for prayer. He would then dip his hand in water and pass it through the roots of his hair until he believed that his skin had been relieved from impurities. He would pour three handfuls of water over his head and then perform a full body wash. Abu Muhammad said, "This narration from Salim bin Abi Al-Jaad is dearer to me."
