1.108 [Machine] The wife combs her husband's hair.

١۔١٠٨ بَابُ الْحَائِضِ تُمَشِّطُ زَوْجَهَا

"I used to comb the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when I was menstruating." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 277)  

الدارمي:١٠٩٨أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«كُنْتُ أُرَجِّلُ رَأْسَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ»

الدارمي:١٠٩٩أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«كُنْتُ أُرَجِّلُ رَأْسَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ»

[Machine] "Be the servants of Ibn Umar who, while they are menstruating, wash his feet and give him the wine."  

الدارمي:١١٠٠أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ

كُنَّ جَوَارِي ابْنِ عُمَرَ «يَغْسِلْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ وَهُنَّ حُيَّضٌ وَيُعْطِينَهُ الْخُمْرَةَ»  

darimi:1101Muḥammad b. Yūsuf > Sufyān > al-Miqdām b. Shurayḥ b. Hāniʾ from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "I was given a cup, so I put it to my mouth and drank while I was menstruating. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his mouth on the same spot where I had placed mine and drank. I was given a piece of cloth, so I sniffed it, and then he placed his mouth on the same spot where I had placed mine and sniffed it. Then he commanded me to wear a garment even though I was menstruating, and he would have intimacy with me."  

الدارمي:١١٠١أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«كُنْتُ أُوتَى بِالْإِنَاءِ فَأَضَعُ فَمِي فَأَشْرَبُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ فَيَضَعُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَمَهُ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي وَضَعْتُ فَيَشْرَبُ وَأُوتَى بِالْعَرْقِ فَأَنْتَهِسُ فَيَضَعُ فَاهُ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي وَضَعْتُ فَيَنْتَهِسُ ثُمَّ يَأْمُرُنِي فَأَتَّزِرُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ وَكَانَ يُبَاشِرُنِي»

[Machine] It is said, "The menstruating woman is not in control of her menstruation. She washes her hands, kneads, and discards."  

الدارمي:١١٠٢أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ كَانَ

يُقَالُ «الْحَائِضُ لَيْسَتِ الْحِيضَةُ فِي يَدِهَا تَغْسِلُ يَدَهَا وَتَعْجِنُ وَتَنْبِذُ»

[Machine] He used to say, "Indeed, the menstruation of a woman is not within her control." And he used to say, "Menstruation is a sign of life."  

الدارمي:١١٠٣أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ

كَانَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْحَائِضَ حِيضَتُهَا لَيْسَتْ فِي يَدِهَا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ الْحَائِضُ حُبُّ الْحَيِّ»  

darimi:1104Jaʿfar b. ʿAwn > Sufyān > Ḥammād > Saʾalt Ibrāhīm

[Machine] Regarding shaking hands with a Jew, a Christian, a Zoroastrian, and a menstruating woman, "He did not see any impurity in it."  

الدارمي:١١٠٤أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

عَنْ مُصَافَحَةِ الْيَهُودِيِّ وَالنَّصْرَانِيِّ وَالْمَجُوسِيِّ وَالْحَائِضِ «فَلَمْ يَرَ فِيهِ وُضُوءًا»  

darimi:1105Abū al-Walīd al-Ṭayālisī > Zāʾidah > Ismāʿīl al-Suddī > ʿAbdullāh al-Bahī > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in the mosque, so he said to the servant girl, "Pass me the khumrah (cloth)." She intended to spread it out and he would pray on it. She said, "Indeed, I am experiencing menstruation." He said, "Indeed, her menstruation is not in her hands."  

الدارمي:١١٠٥أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ السُّدِّيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَهِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ لِلْجَارِيَةِ «نَاوِلِينِي الْخُمْرَةَ» قَالَتْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَبْسُطَهَا وَيُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنَّهَا حَائِضٌ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ حِيضَهَا لَيْسَ فِي يَدِهَا»  

darimi:1106ʿAbdullāh b. Maslamah > Fuḍayl b. ʿIyāḍ > Sulaymān > Tamīm b. Salamah > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

"The Prophet ﷺ would put his head out for me while he was performing I'tikaf [1] and I would wash it, when I was menstruating." [1] Mujawir ("next door") here means while performing I'tikaf. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 276)   

الدارمي:١١٠٦أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُخْرِجُ إِلَيَّ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَغْسِلُهُ يَعْنِي وَهُوَ مُعْتَكِفٌ

[Machine] "To make ablution is the duty of a menstruating woman who is sick."  

الدارمي:١١٠٧أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ «لَا يَرَى بَأْسًا

أَنْ تُوَضِّئَ الْحَائِضُ الْمَرِيضَ»  

darimi:1108Yazīd b. Hārūn > Jaʿfar b. al-Ḥārith > Manṣūr > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

I used to wash the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while I was in a state of menstruation. (Using translation from Muslim 297e)  

الدارمي:١١٠٨أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«كُنْتُ أَغْسِلُ رَأْسَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ»

[Machine] I used to wash the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was in a state of menstruation, and he was in I'tikaf.  

الدارمي:١١٠٩أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«لَقَدْ كُنْتُ أَغْسِلُ رَأْسَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ وَهُوَ عَاكِفٌ»

[Machine] Abu Dhabi sent a message to Ibrahim asking him about performing ablution (wudu) for a sick person. Ibrahim said, "Yes, and support him." Abu Dhabi said, "No." So I asked Al-Mughirah, "Did you hear this from Ibrahim?" He said, "No." Abu Abdullah said, "And support him?" Meaning in prayer.  

الدارمي:١١١٠أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُغِيرَةَ قَالَ

أَرْسَلَ أَبُو ظَبْيَانَ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْحَائِضِ تُوَضِّئُ الْمَرِيضَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَتُسْنِدُهُ» قَالَ لَا فَقُلْتُ لِلْمُغِيرَةِ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ؟ قَالَ لَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَتُسْنِدُهُ؟ يَعْنِي فِي الصَّلَاةِ  

darimi:1111Abū al-Walīd > Shuʿbah > Sulaymān > Thābit b. ʿUbayd > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to her, "Pass me the vessel." She said, "I am menstruating." He said, "Verily, it is not in your hands."  

الدارمي:١١١١أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهَا «نَاوِلِينِي الْخُمْرَةَ» قَالَتْ «إِنِّي حَائِضٌ» قَالَ «إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ فِي يَدِكِ»  

darimi:1112Sulaymān b. Ḥarb > Ḥammād b. Zayd > Kathīr b. Shinẓīr > al-Ḥasan > Suʾil > Āmraʾah Ḥāʾiḍ Sharibat from Māʾ Ayutawaḍḍaʾ Bih Faḍaḥik

[Machine] About a menstruating woman drinking water to perform ablution? He laughed and said, "Yes."  

الدارمي:١١١٢حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ شِنْظِيرٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ

عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ حَائِضٍ شَرِبَتْ مِنْ مَاءٍ أَيُتَوَضَّأُ بِهِ؟ فَضَحِكَ وَقَالَ «نَعَمْ»  

darimi:1113Aḥmad b. al-Ḥajjāj > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Mahdī > Muʿāwiyah b. Ṣāliḥ > al-ʿAlāʾ b. al-Ḥārith > Ḥarām b. Ḥakīm from his uncle ʿAbdullāh b. Saʿd

[Machine] I asked the Prophet ﷺ about eating with a menstruating woman. He replied, "Eat with her."  

الدارمي:١١١٣أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ حَرَامِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ مُؤَاكَلَةِ الْحَائِضِ؟ قَالَ «وَاكِلْهَا»

[Machine] To drink wine from the mosque and then say "I am menstruating" and he says, "Indeed, your menstruation is not in your palm, so you can drink it."  

الدارمي:١١١٤أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ جَارِيَتَهُ

أَنْ تُنَاوِلَهُ الْخُمْرَةَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَتَقُولُ إِنِّي حَائِضٌ فَيَقُولُ «إِنَّ حِيضَتَكِ لَيْسَتْ فِي كَفِّكِ فَتُنَاوِلُهُ»  

darimi:1115Marwān b. Muḥammad > al-Haytham b. Ḥumayd > al-ʿAlāʾ b. al-Ḥārith > Ḥarām b. Ḥakīm > ʿAmmih

[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about eating with a menstruating woman. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, some of my family members are menstruating, and we are a large group, God willing."  

الدارمي:١١١٥أَخْبَرَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ حَرَامِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ مُؤَاكَلَةِ الْحَائِضِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ بَعْضَ أَهْلِي لَحَائِضٌ وَإِنَّا لَمُتَعَشُّونَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ جَمِيعًا»

[Machine] "To touch the menstruating woman with wine."  

الدارمي:١١١٦أَخْبَرَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ «لَا تَرَى بَأْسًا

أَنْ تَمَسَّ الْحَائِضُ الْخُمْرَةَ»
