"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite the Umm Al-Quran and two surahs in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and 'Asr, and he would make us hear a verse sometimes, and he used to make the first rak'ah of zuhr lengthy, and he did likewise in Subh." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 978)

My father said, "The Prophet ﷺ in Zuhr prayers used to recite Al-Fatiha along with two other Suras in the first two rakʿat: a long one in the first rakʿa and a shorter (Sura) in the second, and at times the verses were audible. In the ʿAsr prayer the Prophet ﷺ used to recite Al-Fatiha and two more Suras in the first two rakʿat and used to prolong the first rakʿa. And he used to prolong the first rakʿa of the Fajr prayer and shorten the second.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer and recited in the first two rak'ahs of the noon and afternoon prayers Surat al-Fitiha and two (other) surahs. And he would sometimes recite loud enough for us the verses. He would prolong the first rak'ah more than the second. And he acted similarly in the morning prayer.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite in the first two rak'ahs of the noon and afternoon prayers the opening chapter of the Book and another surah. He would sometimes recite loud enough to make audible to us the verse and would recite in the last two rak'ahs Surat al-Faitiha (only).

His father said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, and he would recite in the first two rak'ahs and make us hear some verses. And he would make the (first) Rak'ah lengthy in Zuhr, and also the first rak'ah." Meaning in Subh.

The apostle of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer and recite in the first two rak’ahs of the noon prayers Fatihat al-kitab and two surahs, and he would sometimes recite loud enough for us to hear the verse. He would prolong the first rak’ah of the noon prayer and shorten the second; and he did so in the morning prayer. Abu Dawud said: Musaddad did not mention the words fatihat al-kitab and surah.

His father told him: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite for us in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr prayer, and he would make us hear a verse sometimes. He would make the first rak'ah longer and the second shorter. And he used to do that in Subh too, make the first rak'ah longer and the second shorter. And he used to recite in the first two rak'ahs of 'Asr prayer, making the first rak'ah longer and the second shorter." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 976)

[Machine] That the Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer and would recite in the noon and afternoon prayers in the first two cycles (rak'ahs) two chapters from the Qur'an, then a verse on occasion, and in the last two cycles, he would recite the same chapter. He would prolong the recitation in the first rak'ah of the noon prayer and the afternoon prayer.

He would sometimes recite loud enough to make audible to us the verse and would recite in the last two rak'ahs Surat al-Faitiha (only). (Using translation from Muslim 451b)

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to recite in the first two units of Dhuhr prayer an ayah that we could hear sometimes, then he would prolong the first unit and shorten the second. And he would recite in the first two units of Asr prayer while prolonging the first unit, and he would recite in the first unit of Fajr prayer while prolonging it and shorten the second unit.

The apostle of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer and recite in the first two rak’ahs of the noon prayers Fatihat al-kitab and two surahs, and he would sometimes recite loud enough for us to hear the verse. He would prolong the first rak’ah of the noon prayer and shorten the second; and he did so in the morning prayer. Abu Dawud said: Musaddad did not mention the words fatihat al-kitab and surah. الكبرى للنسائي:١٠٥٢أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ الصَّوَّافِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَعَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ
