My father said, "The Prophet ﷺ in Zuhr prayers used to recite Al-Fatiha along with two other Suras in the first two rakʿat: a long one in the first rakʿa and a shorter (Sura) in the second, and at times the verses were audible. In the ʿAsr prayer the Prophet ﷺ used to recite Al-Fatiha and two more Suras in the first two rakʿat and used to prolong the first rakʿa. And he used to prolong the first rakʿa of the Fajr prayer and shorten the second.  

البخاري:٧٥٩ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite in the first two rak'ahs of the noon and afternoon prayers the opening chapter of the Book and another surah. He would sometimes recite loud enough to make audible to us the verse and would recite in the last two rak'ahs Surat al-Faitiha (only).

The apostle of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer and recite in the first two rak’ahs of the noon prayers Fatihat al-kitab and two surahs, and he would sometimes recite loud enough for us to hear the verse. He would prolong the first rak’ah of the noon prayer and shorten the second; and he did so in the morning prayer. Abu Dawud said: Musaddad did not mention the words fatihat al-kitab and surah.

The apostle of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer and recite in the first two rak’ahs of the noon prayers Fatihat al-kitab and two surahs, and he would sometimes recite loud enough for us to hear the verse. He would prolong the first rak’ah of the noon prayer and shorten the second; and he did so in the morning prayer. Abu Dawud said: Musaddad did not mention the words fatihat al-kitab and surah. الكبرى للنسائي:١٠٥٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ الصَّوَّافِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَعَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَتَيْنِ وَيُسْمِعُنَا الْآيَةَ أَحْيَانًا وَكَانَ يُطِيلُ الرَّكْعَةَ الْأُولَى مِنَ الظُّهْرِ وَيُقَصِّرُ الثَّانِيَةَ وَكَذَلِكَ فِي الصُّبْحِ»
