[Machine] Narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the two Rak'ahs of Dhuhr prayer Al-Fatiha and a Surah, and he would prolong the recitation in the first two Rak'ahs. And in Asr prayer, he would do the same and would sometimes recite an Ayah out loud for us.
حَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ وَيُطِيلُ فِي الْأُولَيَيْنِ وَفِي الْعَصْرِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَيُسْمِعُنَا الْآيَةَ أَحْيَانًا
My father said, "The Prophet ﷺ used to recite Al-Fatiha along with another Sura in the first two rakʿat of the Zuhr and the ʿAsr prayers and at times a verse or so was audible to us."
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ سُورَةٍ وَيُسْمِعُنَا الآيَةَ أَحْيَانًا
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite in the first two rak'ahs of the noon and afternoon prayers the opening chapter of the Book and another surah. He would sometimes recite loud enough to make audible to us the verse and would recite in the last two rak'ahs Surat al-Faitiha (only).
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الأُولَيَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ وَيُسْمِعُنَا الآيَةَ أَحْيَانًا وَيَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الأُخْرَيَيْنِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite the Umm Al-Quran and two surahs in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and 'Asr, and he would make us hear a verse sometimes, and he used to make the first rak'ah of zuhr lengthy, and he did likewise in Subh." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 978)
