I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Augury from the flight of birds, taking evil omens and the practice of pressomancy pertain to divination. Tarq: It is used in the sense of divination in which women threw stones. 'Iyafah: It means geomancy by drawing lines.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ الطَّرْقُ الزَّجْرُ وَالْعِيَافَةُ الْخَطُّ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Each person has a bird on his neck." Ibn Lahia said, it means the birdling.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ طَائِرُ كُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ فِي عُنُقِهِ قَالَ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ يَعْنِي الطِّيَرَةَ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Woe to the Achilles' tendon because of Hell-fire." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 454)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَاقِيبِ مِنَ النَّارِ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَاقِيبِ مِنَ النَّارِ

[AI] "He (the narrator) heard the Prophet ﷺ mentioning 'Al-'iyafa' and 'At-Tiyara' and 'At-Tarq' from gypsum. He said, 'Al-'iyafa' is from the sound of sneezing, and 'At-Tarq' is from writing."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ قَالَ الْعِيَافَةُ مِنَ الزَّجْرِ وَالطَّرْقُ مِنَ الْخَطِّ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Even I, when a date palm or a tree from Paradise speaks, I respond."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَأَنَا وَصِيفٌ يَقُولُ الْعَجْوَةُ وَالشَّجَرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The date and the rock are from Paradise."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْعَجْوَةُ وَالصَّخْرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Dates and rocks are from Paradise."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْعَجْوَةُ وَالصَّخْرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ

[AI] We were with Abu Hurairah when Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib came to us and greeted us with peace. We returned the greeting, but Abu Hurairah did not notice him. So we said to him, "O Abu Hurairah, Hasan ibn Ali greeted us with peace." He followed him and said, "And peace be upon you, my master." Then he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'He is a master.'"

كُنَّا مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَجَاءَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عَلَيْنَا فَسَلَّمَ فَرَدَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ وَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِهِ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ هَذَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَدْ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا فَلَحِقَهُ وَقَالَ وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ يَا سَيِّدِي ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ سَيِّدٌ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The Ajwah date and the rock are from Paradise."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الْعَجْوَةُ وَالصَّخْرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "May Allah curse the one who bribes and the one who takes bribes."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الرَّاشِيَ وَالْمُرْتَشِيَ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Supporting the oppressor is a part of injustice."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الْمَعْكُ طَرَفٌ مِنَ الظُّلْمِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "Indeed, it is a kind of gypsum."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْعِيَافَةَ وَالطَّرْقَ وَالطِّيَرَةَ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ»

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Hunger, travelling, and sickness are from the hardship."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ»

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "Al-`iyafah, At-turuq, and At-tayarah are part of shirk."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The lean one is the sound of birds and tracks and the footsteps are the marks on the ground." Awf said, "Lean one is the noise of birds, and tracks are the lines on the ground."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ» قَالَ عَوْفٌ الْعِيَافَةُ زَجْرُ الطَّيْرِ وَالطَّرْقُ الْخَطُّ فِي الْأَرْضِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Abstaining from excess, Burdening others, and extravagance are all considered from good manners."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "You will conquer the outskirts of Persia."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «سَتَفْتَحُونَ مَنَابِتَ الشِّيحِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever dies while not associating anything with Allah, Paradise is guaranteed for him."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ مَاتَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ»

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Certainly, roadways, birds, and gusts of wind are made of gypsum.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الطَّرْقَ وَالطِّيَرَةَ وَالْعِيَافَةَ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ»

"إِنَّ الْعِيَافَة ، والطَّرْقَ، والطَّيَرة مِنَ الْجِبْتِ".

"العِيَافَةُ والطِّيَرَةُ والطَّرْقُ من الجِبْتِ ".
