[Machine] Two men argued in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ and one of them became so angry that it seemed to me that his nose would twitch with anger. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I know a word that if he were to say it, his anger would go away. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from Satan, the accursed."

"Whoever fasts Ramadan, performs the Salat, performs Hajj to the House" - I do not know whether he mentioned Zakat or not - "except that it is binding on Allah that He forgive him, whether he emigrated in the cause of Allah, or remained in his land in which he was born." Mu'adh said: "Should I not inform the people of this?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave the people to do deeds, for verily in Paradise there are a hundred levels, what is between every two levels is like what is between the heavens and the earth. Al-Firdaus is the highest of Paradise and its most expansive, and above that is the Throne of Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful), and from it the rivers of Paradise are made to flow forth. So when you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaus." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2530)

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "You will migrate to Ash-Sham, and it will be opened for you. Then, a disease like the pustules or the itch will appear among you, affecting the body of a person and causing him to martyr himself for Allah. By this, Allah will purify their deeds. O Allah, if you know that Mu'adh bin Jabal heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then grant him and his family the greatest portion of it. But the plague struck them, and none of them remained except that he was stabbed in his index finger. He used to say, 'What pleases me is that I have with it the red camels.'"

[Machine] Two men from the children of Israel were enrolled under the covenant of Moses, ﷺ . One of them was a Muslim and the other was a polytheist. The polytheist claimed, "I am so and so, the son of so and so," until he reached nine generations. Then he said to his companion, "You have no lineage." The Muslim replied, "I am so and so, the son of so and so, and I am innocent of what is beyond that." Moses called the people and gathered them, then said, "Your cases have been decided. As for the one who claimed lineage up to nine generations, you are the tenth among them in the Fire. And as for the one who claimed lineage to his parents, you are a man from the people of Islam."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no two Muslims who pass away and for whom three things are fulfilled, except that Allah will admit them to Paradise by His mercy. They asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, what are those three things?'. He replied, 'Two [people]'. They asked, 'Or two [people]?' He replied, 'Or one [person]'. Then he said, 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, even the miscarried fetus will pull its mother towards Paradise if she awaits it with patience'."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Whoever dies while not associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise." And Hammad said: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to Mu'adh"

ahmad:22092ʿAffān > Ḥammād / Ibn Salamah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no Muslim who spends the night remembering Allah in a state of purity, and then becomes startled during the night and asks Allah for good in this world and in the Hereafter, except that Allah grants it to him." Thabit came to us and narrated this hadith, and I don't know it except from Abu Thabiyyah. I asked Hammad about Mu'adh, and he said it is narrated from Mu'adh.

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entrusted to us five things, whoever does any of them, will be guaranteed by Allah: visiting the sick, attending a funeral procession, participating in jihad for the sake of Allah, greeting and respecting an imam when entering his presence, and staying at home to ensure the safety and security of people."

The Prophet ﷺ was engaged in the Battle of Tabuk. If he moved off before the sun had declined, he would delay the noon prayer till he would combine it with the afternoon prayer and would offer them together. If he moved off after the sun had declined, he would combine the noon and afternoon prayers, and then he proceeded; if he moved off before the evening prayer, he would delay the evening prayer; he would offer it along with the night prayer, he would delay the evening prayer; he would offer it along with the night prayer. If he moved off after the evening prayer, he would offer the night prayer earlier and offer it along with the evening prayer. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has not been narrated by anyone except by Qutaibah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1220)

So Mu'awiyah asked him, 'Why do I see the people of Sham not performing the Witr prayer?' Mu'awiyah replied, 'Is it obligatory upon them?' Mu'adh said, 'Yes, I have heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying: My Lord has increased me with a prayer, which is Witr, and its time is from after 'Isha' prayer to the dawn.'"

I replied, "Labbaik, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Saʿdaik!" He said, "Do you know what is Allah's right on His slaves?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, "Allah's right on his slaves is that they should worship Him and not worship anything besides Him." He then proceeded for a while, and again said, "O Muʿadh bin Jabal!" I replied. "Labbaik, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Saʿdaik." He said, "Do you know what is (Allah's) slaves' (people's) right on Allah if they did that?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." "One morning, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was prevented from coming to us for Salat As-Subh, until we were just about to look for the eye of the sun (meaning sunrise). Then he came out quickly, had the Salat prepared for. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Salat, and he performed his Salat in a relatively quick manner. When he said the Salam, he called aloud with his voice saying to us: 'Stay in your rows as you are.' Then he turned coming near to us, then he said: 'I am going to narrate to you what kept me from you this morning: I got up during the night, I performed Wudu and prayed as much as I was able to, and I dozed off during my Salat, and fell deep asleep. Then I saw my Lord, Blessed and Most High, in the best of appearances. He said: 'O Muhammad!' I said: 'My Lord here I am my Lord!' He said: 'What is it that the most exalted group busy themselves with?' I said: 'I do not know Lord.' And He said it three times." He said: "So I saw Him place His Palm between my shoulders, and I sensed the coolness of His Fingertips between my breast. Then everything was disclosed for me, and I became aware. So He said: 'O Muhammad!' I said: 'Here I am my Lord!' He said: 'What is it that the most exalted group busy themselves with?' I said: 'In the acts that atone.' He said: 'And what are they?' I said: 'The footsteps to the congregation, the gatherings in the Masajid after the Salat, Isbagh Al-Wudu during difficulties.' He said: 'Then what else?' I said: 'Feeding others, being lenient in speech, and Salat during the night while the people are sleeping.' He said: 'Ask.' I said: 'O Allah! I ask of you the doing of the good deeds, avoiding the evil deeds, loving the poor, and that You forgive me, and have mercy upon me. And when You have willed Fitnah in the people, then take me without the Fitnah. And I ask You for Your love, the love of whomever You love, and the love of the deeds that bring one nearer to Your love.'" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed it is true, so study it and learn it." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3235)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If anyone fights in Allah's path as long as the time between two milkings of a she-camel, Paradise will be assured for him. If anyone sincerely asks Allah for being killed and then dies or is killed, there will be a reward of a martyr for him. Ibn al-Musaffa added from here: If anyone is wounded in Allah's path, or suffers a misfortune, it will come on the Day of resurrection as copious as possible, its colour saffron, and its odour musk; and if anyone suffers from ulcers while in Allah's path, he will have on him the stamp of the martyrs. [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with the people before the Battle of Tabuk. When morning came, he led the people in the Fajr prayer. Then, the people mounted their rides, and when the sun came up, the people dozed off on their camels. Muadh, the companion of the Prophet ﷺ , stayed close behind him and followed his footsteps. The people dispersed on the road, resting and walking, while feeding and moving. While Muadh was following in the footsteps of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , his camel stumbled and he held it back with the reins. As a result, the camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ran away from him. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ uncovered his face and turned around, only to find a man from the army, who was closer to him than Muadh. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called him and said, "O Muadh!" He replied, "I am here, O Messenger of Allah!" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told him to draw closer. So, he approached until his camel touched the camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Then, the Prophet ﷺ said, "I did not think that the people were as close to me as their position requires." Muadh said, "O Messenger of Allah, the people fell asleep, and their rides scattered, grazing and moving." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "I also dozed off." When Muadh saw the good news from the Prophet ﷺ and he was alone with him, he asked, "O Messenger of Allah, permit me to ask you about something that has caused me illness, weakness, and distress." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Ask me whatever you wish." Muadh said, "Please tell me a deed that will make me enter Paradise. I will not ask you about anything else." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You have asked about something great. You have asked about something great. It is easy for the one whom Allah wants good for. It is easy for the one whom Allah wants good for. It is easy for the one whom Allah wants good for." He did not offer him any other suggestion without repeating it to him three times, especially since Muadh showed such keenness to learn it. Then, the Prophet ﷺ said, "You should believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish the prayer, worship Allah alone without associating partners with Him, perform the obligatory acts, and avoid the prohibitions until you die while adhering to them." Muadh said, "O Messenger of Allah, repeat it for me." The Prophet repeated it for him three times. Then, he said, "If you wish, I will inform you of the head, the pillar, and the pinnacle of this matter." Muadh said, "Yes, please, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The head of this matter is the testimony that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger. The pillar of this matter is establishing the prayer and paying the Zakah. And the pinnacle of this matter is Jihad in the cause of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ added, "I have been ordered to fight against people until they testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger, establish prayer, and pay Zakah. If they do so, their blood and wealth will be protected from me except for its due rights, and their reckoning is with Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ concluded by saying, "By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, no one among the actions that lead to Paradise is as great as performing the obligatory prayer. And there is nothing heavier in the balance of a servant than truthfulness which he practices in striving in the cause of Allah, and there is nothing that will weigh more heavily in the balance of a servant than spending in the cause of Allah or carrying out an obligation in that regard."

[Machine] The prayer (salat) has three states, and so does fasting (sawm). As for the states of prayer, it is narrated that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came to Madinah and he prayed towards Beit Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) for seventeen months. Then, Allah revealed the following verse to him: "Verily, We have seen the turning of your (Muhammad's) face towards the heaven. Surely, We shall turn you to a Qiblah (prayer direction) that shall please you, so turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram (at Makkah). And wheresoever you people are, turn your faces (in prayer) towards it" (Quran 2:144). Allah redirected him towards Makkah, and this became the first state. The people used to gather for prayer and call the Adhan to each other until it caused confusion. Then, a man named Abdullah bin Zaid, from the Ansar (Helpers), went to the Prophet and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I saw something in my dream. If I say that I did not sleep, I would be telling the truth. I was in between the state of sleeping and being awake, when I saw a person wearing two green garments. He faced the Qiblah and said 'Allahu Akbar' twice, then he said 'Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah' twice, and 'Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasul Allah' twice, then he completed the Adhan. He then waited for some time before saying the same words again, except that he added a few words. The prayers were about to be established, so tell Bilal to call the Adhan for us." Bilal was the first person to call the Adhan after that. Omar bin Al-Khattab then came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I had an experience similar to that of the one before me." Thereafter, the Messenger of Allah said, "There is a man among you who Allah has ordered to establish the prayer this way." This narration states three different states. As for fasting, when the Prophet came to Madinah, he fasted three days of each month. He said, "One may fast three days of each month, and when asked whether to increase that number, he said, "If you wish, you may fast. "Allah also revealed that fasting is obligatory. Allah says, "O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you" (Quran 2:183) until the verse that states that the reward of those who are unable to fast is to feed a poor person. [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed a prayer in which he excelled in standing, humility, bowing, and prostration. He said, "This is a prayer of desire and fear. I asked Allah three things in it, and He granted me two and withheld one. I asked Him not to send an enemy upon my Ummah (nation) from among themselves who would indiscriminately attack them, and He granted it. I asked Him not to send a year that would kill them due to famine, and He granted it. And I asked Him not to make their destruction come due to fighting among themselves, and He granted it to me."
