ahmad:22134 – Surayj > al-Ḥakam b. ʿAbd al-Malik > ʿAmmār b. Muḥammad al-ʿAbsī > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Laylá > Muʿādh

[Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on one of his journeys, he heard a caller saying "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar." So he said, according to his natural disposition, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah." Then he said, "I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." He said, "He who testifies to the truth will be saved from the Fire. Look, you will find him either as a shepherd who is oppressed or as a dog with distemper." So they looked and found him as a shepherd. Prayer approached, so he called for it.  

أحمد:٢٢١٣٤ – حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَبْسِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ إِذْ سَمِعَمُنَادِيًا يَقُولُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَقَالَ شَهِدَ بِشَهَادَةِ الْحَقِّ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ قَالَ خَرَجَ مِنَ النَّارِ انْظُرُوا فَسَتَجِدُونَهُ إِمَّا رَاعِيًا مُعْزِبًا وَإِمَّا مُكَلِّبًا فَنَظَرُوهُ فَوَجَدُوهُ رَاعِيًا حَضَرَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَادَى بِهَا

[Machine] While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, we heard a man saying "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar." The Prophet ﷺ said, "On the Fitrah (natural disposition)." Then he said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "This man has come out of the Fire."

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ إِذْ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَرَجَ هَذَا مِنَ النَّارِ

[Machine] "While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during one of his journeys, we heard a caller calling, 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar.' The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, 'By instinct, I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.' The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said (afterwards), 'He came out of the Fire.' Then we pursued him and found him to be a man with a walking stick. Prayer caught up with him, and he called out the adhan."  

أحمد:٣٨٦١ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ مِنَ النَّارِ قَالَ فَابْتَدَرْنَاهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ صَاحِبُ مَاشِيَةٍ أَدْرَكَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَادَى بِهَا

[Machine] While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during one of his journeys, we heard someone calling out, "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Upon Fitrah (natural disposition), he said, 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah.'" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, 'He has escaped from the fire.' Then we intercepted him, and when the time for prayer arrived, he offered it and called out with it.  

البيهقي:١٩٠٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أنبأ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ
