“Do you know what this is?” They said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said: “Man is the line in the middle, and these lines to his side are the sicknesses and problems that assail him from all places. If one misses him, another will befall him. The square is his life span, at his neck; and the line outside it is (his) hope.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4231)

[Machine] One night, Bittu was at the spring and he stood up to pray. He passed by this verse: "Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds - [make them] equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge." [Al-Jathiya 21]. He said, "He stayed up the night until what is permissible of this verse changed to another by intense weeping."

[Machine] "Perhaps we taught him poetry in the evening, and he was abundantly expressive, then he wakes up and the sign remains as it is, so we recognize that spring did not lay its side on its bed at night."
[Machine] "The remembrance of Allah is better than the remembrance of men."

[Machine] "There is nothing that will speak except that it will be recorded, and I dislike that on the Day of Judgment I will be found reciting a poem in my favor."
[Machine] "O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, so he set off and prayed Dhuhr (midday prayer) with the people, then he returned to him and said, 'O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, so he set off and prayed Asr (afternoon prayer) with the people, then he returned to him and said, 'O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, then he prayed Maghrib (evening prayer) with the people, then he returned to him and said, 'O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, then he prayed Isha (night prayer) with the people, then he returned and said, 'O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, until he struck him with the cold of magic."
[Machine] The passage translates to: "Al-Rabi'i used to say, when asked how he was doing, 'We have become weak and sinful, we eat our provisions and wait for our fate.'"
[Machine] The Rabbi said, "People are of two types: a believer and an ignorant person. As for the believer, we should not harm them, and as for the ignorant person, we should not ignore them."
[Machine] I wanted and then I mentioned 'Ad and Thamud and the people of the Prophet and many generations in between. They had doctors and healers, but no one was left to heal or be healed.
[Machine] So he gave it to him, then he recited this verse: "You will never attain righteousness until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love." [Quran 3:92]
[Machine] We said, "We have come to praise Allah and praise Him with you, and to remember Allah and remember Him with you." So he said, "Praise be to Allah, who you did not come to say, 'We have come to drink and drink with you,' and commit adultery, so we commit adultery with you."
[Machine] Rather, I invoke Allah for him, "O Allah, if he is wealthy, then turn his heart towards You, and if he is poor, then enrich him."
[Machine] The spring said to its servant, "Half of the work is on me and half is on you, and I am responsible for sweeping the floor."
[Machine] It does not exist in my newspaper that I said to her, "Go play" but rather go and say or do good.
[Machine] Spring was given a horse or bought one for thirty thousand. Then he went on a raid, and said, "Then he sent his servant Yahsha to fetch the horse. Yahsha came and said, 'Oh, Spring, where is your horse?' He said, 'It was stolen, O Yahsha.' Yahsha said, 'And you were looking at it?' He said, 'Yes, O Yahsha, I was busy praying to my Lord, and it did not distract me from praying to my Lord at all. O Allah, if he (the thief) was rich, then guide him, and if he was poor, then enrich him, three times.'"
[Machine] Spring used to say, "There is no good in speech except in the glorification of Allah, praising Allah, declaring the greatness of Allah, proclaiming the purity of Allah, and asking for good from you. Seeking refuge in you from evil, commanding what is good and forbidding what is evil, and your recitation of the Quran."
[Machine] "Not every time Allah reveals to His Prophet, you grasp it, and not every time you recite, you understand what it is."
[Machine] Then he reviewed and recited this verse: "Say, O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between Your servants concerning that over which they used to differ." He said, "I said, what do you say?" He said, "What do I say? Their return is to Allah, and upon Allah is their account."
[Machine] The work of the spring was all a secret if a man came and spread the Qur'an, he would cover it with his clothes.
[Machine] He wore a striped shirt that cost three or four dirhams. When he extended his sleeves, they reached his fingertips, and when he rolled them up, they reached his elbow. He used to say, when he saw the whiteness of his shirt, "Worship Allah, your Lord." Then he would say, "O Luhayma, O doll, how will you be made when the mountains are reduced to dust?" He used to crush it, crush it. And it happened, "And thy Lord came, and angels, ranked in rows," [Al-Fajr 23].
[Machine] Then, he tied it to [270] the era, but he did not wake up. Then, he tied it to the west, but he did not wake up. Then, he indeed woke up, and Abdullah returned to his family.
[Machine] "Prepare your device and fix your supplies, be the guardian of yourself, and do not appoint men as your representatives."
[Machine] "It seems as if it was spread by the people of the graves."
[Machine] "Give good news to those who stay up in worship, if they were to see you, O Messenger of Allah, they would love you."
[Machine] The passage in English is: The Spring said, "Oh Bakr, control your tongue, for I have blamed people because of my religion."
[Machine] "I am older than him in age, but he is older than me in intellect."
[Machine] "I have become a long poem, no longer seeking the medicine for its cure, but instead I call upon you, O Provider of Rain, to grant me patience in what has befallen me, and to help me make the right decisions in this matter. And I hope that my affliction will be a sought-after reward, even though I do not know."
[Machine] "For his family, make me a dish and he hardly desires anything, so they made it. He said, 'Then he sent it to a neighbor who was suffering, and he began to eat and his saliva was flowing.' So his family said, 'How does he not know what he ate?' The spring said, 'But Allah knows.'"
[Machine] "Yes, whoever has eloquence in speech, reflection in health, and deliberation in actions is better than me."
[Machine] Al-Rabee' ibn Khuthaym said, "Acquire knowledge and then seclude yourself (for contemplation)."
[Machine] "He used to spend two thousand, keeping aside two hundred to spend as charity and give away the rest."
[Machine] "We heard, but they do not hear." [Quran, Surah Al-Anfal 21]
[Machine] "That Allah gathers in His grasp, then He says, 'Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant ones? Where are those who invoke another god alongside Allah? There is no deity except Him.'"
[Machine] So we exerted him [Moses] because of what they [the Egyptians] saw of our signs. They said, "Are you coming to us that you may turn us away from that upon which we found our fathers and so that you two may have grandeur in the land? And we are not believers in you." And Pharaoh said, "Bring him to me, and I will hear and see him on good authority." Moses said, "Indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Account." And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith said, "Do you kill a man [merely] because he says, 'My Lord is Allah' while he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he should be lying, then upon him is [the consequence of] his lie; but if he should be truthful, there will strike you some of what he promises you. Indeed, Allah does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar. O my people, sovereignty is yours today, [your being] dominant in the land. But who would protect us from the punishment of Allah if it came to us?" Pharaoh said, "I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct." And he who believed said, "O my people, indeed I fear for you [a fate] like the day of the companies - like the custom of the people of Noah and of 'Aad and Thamud and those after them. And Allah wants injustice for His servants. And O my people, indeed I fear for you the Day of Calling - the Day you will turn your backs fleeing, having no protector from Allah. And whoever Allah leaves astray - there is no guide for him. And Joseph had already come to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt of that which he brought to you, until when he died, you said, 'Never will Allah send a messenger after him.' Thus does Allah leave astray he who is a transgressor and skeptic.
