[Machine] "For his family, make me a dish and he hardly desires anything, so they made it. He said, 'Then he sent it to a neighbor who was suffering, and he began to eat and his saliva was flowing.' So his family said, 'How does he not know what he ate?' The spring said, 'But Allah knows.'"  

الزهد لأحمد:١٩٥٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُنْذِرٍ أَنَّ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ خُثَيْمٍ قَالَ

لِأَهْلِهِ اصْنَعُوا لِي خَبِيصًا وَكَانَ لَا يَكَادُ يَشْتَهِي عَلَيْهِمْ شَيْئًا فَصَنَعُوهُ قَالَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى جَارٍ لَهُ مُصَابٍ فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ وَلُعَابُهُ يَسِيلُ فَقَالَ أَهْلُهُ مَا يَدْرِي هَذَا مَا أَكَلَ؟ فَقَالَ الرَّبِيعُ «لَكِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ يَدْرِي»
