[Machine] "I have become a long poem, no longer seeking the medicine for its cure, but instead I call upon you, O Provider of Rain, to grant me patience in what has befallen me, and to help me make the right decisions in this matter. And I hope that my affliction will be a sought-after reward, even though I do not know."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٩٥١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَاُن الثَّوْرِيُّ قَالَ مَاتَ ابْنٌ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ فَقَالَ

شِعْرًا [البحر الطويل] أَصْبَحْتُ لَا أَدْعُو طَبِيبًا لِطِبِّهِ وَلَكِنَّنِي أَدْعُوكَ يَا مُنْزِلَ الْقَطْرِ لِتَرْزُقَنِي صَبْرًا عَلَى مَا أَصَابَنِي وَتَعْزِمَ لِي فِيهِ عَلَى الرُّشْدِ مِنْ أَمْرِي وَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونَ مُصِيبَتِي بَغَيْتُ بِهَا أَجْرًا وَإِنْ كُنْتُ لَا أَدْرِي
