[Machine] I heard Malik saying, "The indulgence of people in the remembrance of Allah is not one that can be compared to anything else." He said, "I also heard Malik saying, 'One of them goes and marries a woman from the noble ranks of the Haram (Kaaba).' It was said during Malik's time that the women from the noble ranks of the Haram were the most beautiful of people. Or, he goes and marries a woman whom her parents have adorned and decorated to the extent that she seems like a cream, then he marries her and falls in love with her. He asks her, 'What do you desire?' She says, 'The scarf of my beauty.' He asks her, 'What else do you desire?' She says, 'Such and such.' Malik said, 'By Allah, the religion of the reader of this is ruined, and he stops himself from marrying an orphan girl who is weak, and clothes her, so he can earn reward."

ahmad-zuhd:1876ʿAbdullāh from my father > Sayyār > Jaʿfar

[Machine] I heard Malik, meaning Ibn Dinar, and he had a sorrowful voice. He would put his head in his place of worship and then say, "O God of Malik, you know the inhabitants of Hellfire from the inhabitants of Paradise, so which of the two men is Malik?" Then he would cry. He said, "And I heard Malik saying, 'Indeed, Allah says: "Indeed, I desire to punish My servants. So when I look at the companions of the Quran and the builders of mosques and the children of Islam, My anger subsides, and I say: I have averted My punishment."

ahmad-zuhd:1877Mālik

[Machine] "And I heard Malik say, 'Verily, when the Quran is recited to the truthful ones, their hearts are filled with longing for the Hereafter.' Abdullah narrated to us, Ali bin Muslim narrated to us, Sayaar narrated to us, Ja'far said: 'I heard Malik bin Dinar say to Mughira bin Habib, 'O Mughira, observe every companion and friend, if you do not benefit in your religion from them, then distance yourself from their company.'"

[Machine] One day, Malik said, "Do not come to us in your clothes like this." He said, "May Allah rectify the matter, I do not know what has changed you towards me? I used to come to you in these clothes." He said, "O Malik, do you know what discourages us from you? You do not want what is in our hands, and that alienates us from you." He said, "Malik said, 'If I were to write something from the words in my Mus'haf, I would write the words of Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad Al-Thaqafi."

[Machine] I said, "O Abu Sa'id, indeed I intended that if I were to die from this illness, my shoulders be tied with a rope and my feet be tied as well, then I be carried to my Lord as a slave is carried to his master." He said, "Al-Hasan said, 'Your companion is delusional, meaning he is speaking nonsense.'" I said, "By Allah, O Abu Sa'id, I am not delusional." He said, "Then I was comforted and he said to me, 'O owner of the rope, you were in a dark place on earth, and now you have been comforted.'" Al-Hasan then came to me advising and teaching me.

[Machine] That in some heavens there are angels. Whenever one of them glorifies, a angel falls from his glorification, and a standing angel glorifies. In some heavens there is an angel with a number of eyes equal to the number of grains of sand and clay on earth and the number of stars in the sky. There is not an eye in it that does not have an eye beneath it, and lips that glorify Allah with a language that its owner does not understand.
