[Machine] I made an agreement with Malik one night, and I came dressed in winter clothes. He said, "I helped myself to the door of the house." He said, "Malik entered and faced the Qibla, took hold of his beard, and began to say, 'O Lord, when you gather the first and the last, make Malik's gray hairs forbidden from the fire.'"  

الزهد لأحمد:١٨٩٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ قَالَ

تَعَاهَدْتُ مَالِكًا ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَجِئْتُ وَقَدْ لَبِسْتُ وَطِيفَةً فِي لَيَالِي الشِّتَاءِ قَالَ فَطَرَحْتُ [264] نَفْسِي عَلَى بَابِ الْبَيْتِ قَالَ فَدَخَلَ مَالِكٌ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَأَخَذَ بِلِحْيَتِهِ وَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِذَا جَمَعْتَ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ فَحَرِّمْ شَيْبَةَ مَالِكٍ عَلَى النَّارِ
