[Machine] If you are reaching out to loved ones who love you, do not descend upon them except a little.

[Machine] Hasan had a house, and when its door was opened, it was his permission. So, whoever from his companions came to him and saw the door open, they entered. A man came and saw the door open, so he entered and looked, but did not see Hasan in the house. He looked at a plate under his bed and found food in it, so he approached and ate from it. Hasan approached from another exit, and when he saw what the man was doing, he stood and looked at him, then tears began to flow from his eyes, and he started to cry. The man asked him, "What makes you cry, Abu Sa'id?" He said, "You reminded me of the characteristics of a people who have passed."
[Machine] "If a man supplicates in times of prosperity, and then hardship befalls him, he prays, and the angels say, 'A known voice, forgive him.' But if a man does not supplicate in times of prosperity, and then hardship befalls him, he prays, and the angels say, 'A voice that is not known, and they do not intercede for him.'"
[Machine] We used to sit with Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, and he would remind us and supplicate to Allah. Then he would say, "Our supplications have been answered, and we have been forgiven," and then he would remain silent for a while. Then he would say, "If only we were truthful."
[Machine] "And by Allah, O people of the mosque, Allah will complete the number of the people of Paradise or the number of the people of Hell with you, so we cried."
[Machine] Abu Muslim Al-Khawlani used to go around promoting Islam, so he went to Muawiya. It was said to him, "So he sent for him and summoned him. He said to him, 'What is your name?' He said, 'Muawiya.' He said, 'Indeed, you are an orphan, the son of a grave, shortly from now, if you do good or evil, you will be rewarded for it.' O Muawiya, if you were to be just to all the people of the world and then commit an injustice against one man, your justice would outweigh your injustice."
[Machine] I heard Muhammad bin Wasie' saying, "There is nothing left in this world that is more enjoyable than praying together in congregation and meeting with the brothers."
[Machine] The horse dealer used to trade and accumulate money, and he never came on Fridays. When he had money, he would meet his brother and give him four hundred, five hundred, or three hundred. He would say, "Keep it for us until we need it." Then he would meet him later and ask him about it, to which the other would reply, "I have no need for it." He would then say, "By Allah, we will never take it. What will you do with it?"
[Machine] A man said to Muawiyah, "O Abu al-Mu'tamir, I complain to you about myself. I am not able to pray and I am not able to fast." Muawiyah said, "It is bad what you impose upon yourself. When you are weak in doing good, weaken yourself from doing evil. For I am pleased with the sleep that you sleep."
[Machine] He used to trade and acquired wealth, then distributed it among the poor and needy, saying "If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have engaged in trade."
[Machine] There was a man who used to fast all day and break his fast with two light dates. He had wealth that he traded with, using its profits to give charity to those in need and support his brothers. He used to say, "If it weren't for the poor, I wouldn't have engaged in trade."
[Machine] "Indeed, you accumulate sins, so increase in seeking forgiveness. And truly, when a person commits a sin then looks towards his side with seeking forgiveness, his place becomes happy."
[Machine] There was a king before you who rebelled against his Lord. The Muslims waged war against him and captured him unharmed. They asked, "How should we kill him?" They agreed to place a large cauldron under him and fill it with fire, but not to kill him until they made him taste the torment. So they did that to him. He began calling upon his gods one by one, saying, "O so-and-so, I used to worship you and pray to you and seek refuge in you. So save me from what I am experiencing." When they saw him gaining no relief from them, he raised his head to the sky and said, "There is no god but Allah," and he called upon Allah sincerely. Allah poured a shower of ice from the sky, which extinguished the fire, and a scorching wind came and carried away that cauldron. He began to revolve between the sky and the earth, saying, "There is no god but Allah." Allah then cast him to a people who did not worship Allah, and he proclaimed, "There is no god but Allah." They imprisoned him and said, "What is wrong with you?" He replied, "I am the king of so-and-so's tribe." He then told them the story, and they believed him.

[Machine] Indeed, Allah protects His believing servant just as one of you protects his sick loved one. Abdullah said: I think he said: "Did you not see how a woman nurses her infant, enduring bitterness and pain, and yet she continues to do so, intending to provide it with a righteous outcome? Likewise, Allah does with His believing servant."

[Machine] A man said to Murraq, "O Abu Al-Mu'tamir, I complain to you about myself, for I am unable to pray or fast." Murraq replied, "How terrible it is that you belittle yourself. However, if you are weak in doing good, then be weak in doing evil. For surely, I find joy in the sleep that I get."

[Machine] I heard Bakr ibn Abdullah Al-Muzani reciting this supplication and never leaving it: "O Allah, open for us the treasures of Your mercy, and do not punish us ever in this life and the Hereafter. And provide for us from Your vast favor sustenance that is lawful and good, and do not make us dependent on anyone other than You, ever. Increase us in gratitude to You through it, and towards You in neediness and poverty. And through You, grant us richness while everyone other than You is impoverished, and grant us chastity."

[Machine] The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wear clothes. They did not criticize those who did not wear clothes, and those who did not wear clothes did not criticize those who wore clothes.

[Al-Isra' 17:13] Then he said, "Two records will be placed before you. As for what you have earned, O son of Adam, your record will be made evident to you, so judge according to what you see in it. When you die, it will be folded up and when you are resurrected, it will be spread open for you. [Read your record.] Sufficient is your own soul this day to make a reckoning against you." [Al-Isra' 17:14]

[Machine] Abu al-Sawwar al-Adawi was in a gathering discussing knowledge. He said, "Say: Glory be to Allah and praise be to Allah." Then a young boy said, "In what context were we then?"
[Machine] Abu Sawwar al-Adawi was approached by a man causing him harm, and he remained silent until he reached his home or entered it, and then said, "Enough for you, if you wish."

[Machine] Ata ibn Yassar said, "Your religion is your religion. I do not advise you regarding your worldly affairs, as you are diligent in pursuing them and you are already knowledgeable in them."

[Machine] Some of the indulgent ones of this nation called upon Abu As-Sawwar Al-`Adawi and asked him about something of his religion, so he answered them with what he knew. They said to him, "If not, then you are free from Islam." He said, "To what other religion do I go?" They said, "If not, your wife is divorced." He said, "Then where do I seek refuge tonight?" So they struck him with forty lashes. Al-Hasan bin Muhammad said, "By Allah, his lashes will not go to waste." Abu Ja`far said, "So I came to Abu `Abdullah Ahmad bin Hanbal and informed him of that, so he retracted."
[Machine] I heard Abu al-Sawwar say to Mu'adhah al-Adawiyyah in the Masjid of Bani 'Adi, "One of you comes into the masjid and places her head down and raises her skirt. She said, "Why do you look?" He replied, "Put dust in your eyes and don't look." She said, "I swear by Allah, I can only look, then I apologize." She said, "O Abu Sawwar, when I am at home, the children keep me occupied, and when I am in the masjid, it is more beneficial for me." He said, "I fear for you from being active."
[Machine] Saeed ibn Jubair wrote to Abi Sawwar Al-Adawi, "Brother, be cautious of people and content yourself with yourself. Let your house be sufficient for you, and weep over your mistakes. And when you see someone struggling, praise Allah who has granted you safety, and do not trust the devil, as he will deceive you for as long as you live."

[Machine] I entered upon Al-Sabakhi, who was an elderly sheikh, and in his hands was a sour date, and he was saying with a piece in his mouth, then he eats. I said, "Why do you do this, O Abu Ya'qub?" He said, "So that it may remove sexual desire from me."
[Machine] "I found the matter easier than I had burdened myself."

[Machine] Indeed, rain is the spring of the earth. Rain descends from the sky, causing plants to be struck by its droplets. Nothing prevents it from shaking and turning green, and it improves the condition of those who carry the Quran. What has the Quran planted in your hearts? Where are the companions of a surah? Where are the companions of two surahs? What have you done with them?
[Machine] "Where is my tablecloth? Where is my dish broken? Sons, whom Allah did not bless me with."

[Machine] I heard Malik say, "By Allah, if I could stay awake, I would not sleep out of fear that punishment might descend while I am asleep. By Allah, if I found helpers, I would separate them in the middle of this world and call out to people, 'O people, fire! Fire!'"
