[Machine] "O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, so he set off and prayed Dhuhr (midday prayer) with the people, then he returned to him and said, 'O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, so he set off and prayed Asr (afternoon prayer) with the people, then he returned to him and said, 'O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, then he prayed Maghrib (evening prayer) with the people, then he returned to him and said, 'O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, then he prayed Isha (night prayer) with the people, then he returned and said, 'O Rabee', O Rabee', but he did not respond to him, until he struck him with the cold of magic."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٩٣٠ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هَمَّامِ بْنُ أَبِي بَدْرٍ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ شُجَاعِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ السَّكُونِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ خَيْثَمٍ عَنْ أَبِي طُعْمَةَ نُسَيْرِ بْنِ ذُعْلُوقٍ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ مَاعِزٍ قَالَ انْطَلَقَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ إِلَى شَاطِئِ الْفُرَاتِ فَلَمَّا رَأَى الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ الْحَدَّادِينَ خَرَّ مَغْشِيًّا عَلَيْهِ فَجَاءَ بِهِ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يَحْمِلُهُ إِلَى دَارِهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ

يَا رَبِيعُ يَا رَبِيعُ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ فَانْطَلَقَ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِيعُ يَا رَبِيعُ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ فَانْطَلَقَ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِيعُ يَا رَبِيعُ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِيعُ يَا رَبِيعُ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ الْعِشَاءِ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِيعُ يَا رَبِيعُ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ حَتَّى ضَرَبَهُ بَرْدُ السَّحَرِ
