The Prophet ﷺ said, "The deceased is tortured in his grave for the wailing done over him." Narrated Shu'ba: The deceased is tortured for the wailing of the living ones over him .

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ

The dead is punished in the grave because of wailing on it.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ

The same hadith is narrated on the authority of 'Umar through another chain of transmitters.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ

"Sulaiman bin Surad said to Khalid bin Urfutah - or, Khalid said to Sulaiman - 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah saying: "Whoever is killed by his stomach then he will not be punished in the grave"?' One of them said to the other: "Yes."

سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَتَلَهُ بَطْنُهُ لَمْ يُعَذَّبْ فِي قَبْرِهِ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ نَعَمْ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'The deceased is punished in his grave due to the wailing over him."'

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِالنِّيَاحَةِ عَلَيْهِ

ʿThe deceased is tormented in his grave because of the wailing over him.”

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ

Life grant is for one upon whom it is bestowed. (Using translation from Muslim 1625f)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْعُمْرَى لِمَنْ وُهِبَتْ لَهُ

"Sulaiman bin Surad said to Khalid bin Urfutah - or, Khalid said to Sulaiman - 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah saying: "Whoever is killed by his stomach then he will not be punished in the grave"?' One of them said to the other: "Yes." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1064)

أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ يَقْتُلُهُ بَطْنُهُ فَلَنْ يُعَذَّبَ فِي قَبْرِهِ ؟ فَقَالَ بَلَى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Whoever kills him, his stomach will not be punished in his grave?" The other person said, "Yes".

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَتَلَهُ بَطْنُهُ فَلَنْ يُعَذَّبَ فِي قَبْرِهِ ؟ قَالَ الْآخَرُ بَلَى

[AI] Ayoub said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid the killing of patience.

أَيُّوبَفَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الصَّبْرِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever kills a person unjustly, his stomach will not be punished in his grave."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ قَتَلَهُ بَطْنُهُ لَمْ يُعَذَّبْ فِي قَبْرِهِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, the one who is relied upon will be punished." So she said, "Yes."

سَمِعْتِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْمُعَوَّلَ عَلَيْهِ يُعَذَّبُ» فَقَالَتْ بَلَى

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever humiliates the Quraysh, Allah will humiliate him."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ أَهَانَ قُرَيْشًا أَهَانَهُ اللَّهُ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid killing the patient.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الصَّبْرِ»

[AI] One of them said to the other, "Did you not receive the message? Did you not hear that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'Whoever kills himself will not be punished in his grave'?" He replied, "Yes."

أَحَدُهُمَا لِلْآخَرِ أَلَمْ يَبْلُغْكَ أَوْ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ قَتَلَهُ بَطْنُهُ فَلَنْ يُعَذَّبْ فِي قَبْرِهِ» قَالَ بَلَى

[AI] You hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever kills him, his stomach will not be punished in his grave?" He said, "Yes."

تَسْمَعْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يَقْتُلُهُ بَطْنُهُ لَمْ يُعَذَّبْ فِي قَبْرِهِ؟» قَالَ بَلَى

سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قَتَلَهُ بَطْنُهُ لَمْ يُعَذَّبْ فِي قَبْرِهِ؟» فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ نَعَمْ

"صَاحِبُ البَطن لَا يُعَذَبُ فِى قَبْرِهِ".

"مَنْ قَتَلَهُ بَطْنُهُ لَمْ يُعَذَّبْ في قَبْرِهِ".

"لا يُعَذَّبُ فِي الْقَبْرِ صَاحِبُ البَطنِ".
