The Messenger of Allah ﷺ allowed three days and nights for the traveller and one day and night for one who is not travelling (i.e., with regard to wiping over the khuffain or leather slippers) (Using translation from Aḥmad 1126)

«جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ» يَعْنِي الْمَسْحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ

the Prophet ﷺ said, "A Muslim cannot be the heir of a disbeliever, nor can a disbeliever be the heir of a Muslim." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6764)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَرِثُ الْمُسْلِمُ الْكَافِرَ وَلَا الْكَافِرُ الْمُسْلِمَ»

I asked ʿAʿishah about wiping over the khuff (leather slippers) and she said. Ask ‘Ali, for he knows more that than me; he used to travel with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So I asked ‘Ali ؓ and he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿFor the traveller, three days and nights; for the one who is not travelling one day and night.ʿ A similar report was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ from The Prophet ﷺ

سَلْ عَلِيًّا فَإِنَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِهَذَا مِنِّي كَانَ يُسَافِرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَسَأَلْتُ عَلِيًّا فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ

I asked ʿAʿishah ؓ about wiping over the khuff (leather slippers) and she said: Ask ʿAli ؓ . I asked him and he said: Three days and nights - i.e., for the traveller - and one day and night for one who is not travelling

سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقَالَتْ سَلْ عَلِيًّا فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ ثَلاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ يَعْنِي لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ allowed three days and nights for the traveller and one day and night for one who is not travelling (i.e., with regard to wiping over the khuffain or leather slippers)

جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِلمُسَافِرِ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ وَلِلمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً

I asked ʿAʿishah ؓ about wiping over the khuffain. She said: “Ask ‘Ali, for he knows more about that than me. He used to travel with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” So I asked ‘Ali ؓ and he said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿFor one who is not travelling, one day and night; and for the traveller, three days and nights.ʿ

سَلْ عَلِيًّا فَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِهَذَا مِنِّي هُوَ كَانَ يُسَافِرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلْتُ عَلِيًّا فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِلمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ وَلِلمُسَافِرِ ثَلاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ

The Prophet ﷺ as saying: A Muslim may not inherit from an infidel nor an infidel from a Muslim. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2909)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَرِثُ الْمُسْلِمُ الْكَافِرَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say that a traveler should wipe over their shoes for three nights, and a resident should do so for one day and one night.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ يَمْسَحُ الْمُسَافِرُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ وَالْمُقِيمُ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said about wiping over the socks: "For the resident, it is valid for one day and one night, and for the traveler, it is valid for three days and nights."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ وَثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ

The Prophet said: "Three days." I think he said, "And three nights during which the traveler may wipe over his leather socks." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 554)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ وَلَيَالِيهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Rub over the Khuff (leather socks) for three days even if we added more days, it would increase for us."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ امْسَحُوا عَلَى الْخِفَافِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَوْ اسْتَزَدْنَاهُ لَزَادَنَا

[AI] "On the authority of Abu Abdullah al-Jadali, he heard him narrating from Khuzaymah bin Thabit. We asked the Prophet ﷺ about wiping over the two socks. He permitted wiping for the traveler for three days and nights, and for the resident for one day and night. Abdullah said, my father said, I heard him mention this from Sufyan two times, emphasizing it for the resident even if the questioner repeats his request, he would increase it for them."

عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ سَمِعَهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ سَأَلْنَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَرَخَّصَ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ وَالْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ قَالَ أَبِي سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ سُفْيَانَ مَرَّتَيْنِ يَذْكُرُ لِلْمُقِيمِ وَلَوْ أَطْنَبَ السَّائِلُ فِي مَسْأَلَتِهِ لَزَادَهُمْ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ قَالَ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ allowed the traveler three days and nights, and for the resident (non-traveler) one day and night. He said, "By Allah, if the beggar were to persist in his request, he would make it five." And Abu Nuaim said, "One day for the resident."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَعَلَ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثًا وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً قَالَ وَايْمُ اللهِ لَوْ مَضَى السَّائِلُ فِي مَسْأَلَتِهِ لَجَعَلَهَا خَمْسًا وَقَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ يَوْمٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ set three days for the traveler and a day and night for the resident, and the grace of Allah is that if the petitioner were to continue in his request, He would make it five days.

جَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ وَايْمُ اللهِ لَوْ مَضَى السَّائِلُ فِي مَسْأَلَتِهِ لَجَعَلَهَا خَمْسًا

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded wiping over the footwear during the Battle of Tabuk for a period of three days for travelers and their nights, and for residents, one day and one night."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِالْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّوَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ

A’ishah reported “The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ as saying One or two sucks does not make marriage unlawful”. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2063)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تُحَرِّمُ الْمَصَّةُ وَلَا الْمَصَّتَانِ

A’ishah reported “The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ as saying One or two sucks does not make marriage unlawful”. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2063)

«رَخَّصَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمَسْحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْحَاضِرِ»

The Prophet granted a concession to travelers: "If a traveler performed ablution and put on leather socks, then he performed a fresh ablution, he could wipe over the leather socks for three days and nights; the resident could do so for one day and one night." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 556)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «أَنَّهُ رَخَّصَ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً إِذَا تَطَهَّرَ وَلَبِسَ خُفَّيْهِ فَلْيَمْسَحْ عَلَيْهِمَا»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted us permission to wipe over the socks in the city for a day and a night, and for the traveler for three days and nights."

«رَخَّصَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فِي الْحَضَرِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً وَلِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةً أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prescribed wiping over the socks for three days and nights for the traveler, and one day and night for the resident."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَّتَ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»

"The Messenger of Allah set a time limit for the traveler of three days, and if the questioner had persisted in asking, he would have made it five (days)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 553)

«جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمَسْحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ وَلَوْ مَضَى السَّائِلُ عَلَى مَسْأَلَتِهِ لَجَعَلَهَا خَمْسًا»

[AI] "About the Prophet ﷺ , he was asked about wiping over the slippers. He said, 'Three times for the traveler and one day for the resident.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقَالَ «ثَلَاثًا لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا»

[AI] About wiping over the socks, the Prophet ﷺ said: "For the traveler, three days and nights, and for the resident, one day and night."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ قَالَ «لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»

[AI] "A Bedouin asked the Prophet ﷺ about wiping (during ablution). He said, 'For a traveler, (wipe) for three days and nights, and for a resident, (wipe) for a day and a night.'"

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ فَقَالَ «لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»

A woman should not set out on three (days' journey) except when she has a Mahram with her. (Using translation from Muslim 1338a)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَمْسَحُ الْمُسَافِرُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»

«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْمَسْحِ لِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً وَلِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثًا»

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ regarding wiping over the Khuffain (leather socks): "For a traveler, it is three days and nights, and for a resident, it is one day and one night."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ «لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "For the traveler, there are three (days to wipe over the socks), and for the resident, one day (to wipe over the socks)."
