[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Learn from four: Abdullah, Sālim, the servant of Abu Hudhaifah." Shu'bah said, "He started with these two, and Ubayy ibn Ka'b and Mu'adh ibn Jabal." He said, "I do not know which of the two he started with."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اسْتَقْرِئُوا مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ» قَالَ شُعْبَةُ «بَدَأَ بِهَذَيْنِ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ» قَالَ «لَا أَدْرِي بِأَيِّهِمَا بَدَأَ»
ʿAbdullah (bin Masʿud) was mentioned before ʿAbdullah bin ʿAmr. The latter said, "That is a man I continue to love because I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, ' Learn the recitation of the Qur'an from (any of these) four persons: ʿAbdullah bin Masud, Salim the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa, Ubai bin Kaʿb, and Muʿadh bin Jabal." I do not remember whether he mentioned Ubai first or Muʿadh.
ذَاكَ رَجُلٌ لاَ أَزَالُ أُحِبُّهُ بَعْدَ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اسْتَقْرِئُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَبَدَأَ بِهِ وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ وَأُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ لاَ أَدْرِي بَدَأَ بِأُبَىٍّ أَوْ بِمُعَاذٍ
ʿAbdullah bin Masud was mentioned before ʿAbdullah bin ʿAmr who said, "That is a man I still love, as I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying 'Learn the recitation of Qur'an from four from ʿAbdullah bin Masʿud -- he started with him--Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudaifa, Muʿadh bin Jabal and Ubai bin Kaʿb."
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ خُذُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَبَدَأَ بِهِ وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ وَأُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ
They made a mention of Ibn Mas'ud before 'Abdullah b. Amr, whereupon he said: He is a person whose love is always fresh in my heart after I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Learn the recita- tion of the Qur'an from four persons: from Ibn Mas'ud, Salim, the ally of Abu Hudhaifa, Ubayy b. We used to go to Abdullah b. 'Amr and talk to him, Ibn Numair said: One day we made a mention of Abdullah b. Mas'ud, whereupon he said: You have made mention of a person whom I love more than anything else. I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Learn Qur'an from four persons: Ibn Umm 'Abd (i. e. 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud) he started from him-then Mu'adh b. Jabal and Ubayya b. Ka'b, then Salim the ally of Abu Hudhaifa. (Using translation from Muslim 2464a)

"استقْرئِوا القُرآن مِنْ أرْبعةٍ: مِنْ عبد اللهِ بن مسْعودِ، وسالم مولى أبي حذيفَة، وأُبيِّ بن كعب، ومعاذ بن جبل".
