47. Virtues of the Qur'ān
٤٧۔ كِتَابُ فَضَائِلِ الْقُرْآنِ
Anas said, "The Qur'an was collected in the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ by four (men), all of whom were from the Ansar: Ubai, Muʿadh bin Jabal, Abu Zaid and Zaid bin Thabit." I asked Anas, "Who is Abu Zaid?" He said, "One of my uncles." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3810)
جَمَعَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْبَعَةٌ كُلُّهُمْ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ وَزِيدٌ وَأَبُو زَيْدٍ قُلْتُ مَنْ أَبُو زَيْدٍ؟ قَالَ «أَحَدُ عُمُومَتِي»
I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Learn the recitation of Qur'an from four persons: Ibn Masʿud, Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa, Ubai and Muʿadh bin Jabal." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3806)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «اسْتَقْرِئُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ»
