Attributing blessings to Allah instead of stars and heavenly bodies
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the Fajr prayer at al-Hudaybiyah after rainfall that had fallen during the night. When he finished, he turned to the people and said: “Do you know what your Lord has said?” They said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said: “This morning some of My servants have become believers in Me and disbelievers: as for the one who says, ‘We have been given rain by Allah’s favor and mercy,’ that one is a believer in Me and a disbeliever in the star; but as for the one who says, ‘We have been given rain by such-and-such a star,’ that one is a disbeliever in Me and a believer in the star.”
