The Prophet ﷺ said, "If supper is served, and Iqama is pronounced one should start with the supper."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If the supper is served start having it before praying the Maghrib prayer and do not be hasty in finishing it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا قُدِّمَ الْعَشَاءُ فَابْدَءُوا بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُصَلُّوا صَلاَةَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَلاَ تَعْجَلُوا عَنْ عَشَائِكُمْ

The Prophet ﷺ said, If supper is served and the Iqama for (Isha) prayer is proclaimed, start with you supper first."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If the Iqama for (ʿIsha') prayer is proclaimed and supper is served, take your supper first."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ وَحَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ قَالَ وُهَيْبٌ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ

When the supper is brought and the prayer begins, one, should first take food.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When the supper is brought before you, and it is also the time to say prayer, first take food before saying evening prayer and do not hasten (to prayer, leaving aside the food).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا قُرِّبَ الْعَشَاءُ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُصَلُّوا صَلاَةَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَلاَ تَعْجَلُوا عَنْ عَشَائِكُمْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When the supper is served to any one of you and the prayer also begins. (in such a case) first take supper, and do not make haste (for prayer) till you have (taken the food).

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا وُضِعَ عَشَاءُ أَحَدِكُمْ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ وَلاَ يَعْجَلَنَّ حَتَّى يَفْرُغَ مِنْهُ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If dinner is ready and the Iqamah for prayer is said, then start with dinner first."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

“If food is served and the Iqamah for prayer is given, then start with the food.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘If food is served and the Iqamah for prayer is given, then start with the food.” He said: "Ibn 'Umar ate dinner one night while he could hear the Iqamah."

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ قَالَ فَتَعَشَّى ابْنُ عُمَرَ لَيْلَةً وَهُوَ يَسْمَعُ الإِقَامَةَ

“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا قُرِّبَ الْعَشَاءُ وَنُودِيَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ ثُمَّ صَلُّوا

“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 935)

إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِالصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If dinner is ready and the Iqamah for prayer is said, then start with dinner first."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 853)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَقُرِّبَ الْعَشَاءُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

[AI] From the Prophet, ﷺ , he said: "When the evening meal is served and the prayer is ready, start with the evening meal."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 935)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالْعَشَاءُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

[AI] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "When prayer and dinner time come together, start with dinner."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالْعَشَاءُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

[AI] According to Aisha, when the dinner is served and the prayer is established, start with dinner.

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ تَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

“If food is served and the Iqamah for prayer is given, then start with the food.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 933)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "When the dinner is served and the prayer is established, start with the dinner." Waki' (one of the narrators) said, "When both the prayer and dinner are ready." Ibn 'Uyaynah said, "When the dinner is served."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالْعَشَاءُ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

[AI] From Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, she said: I heard her say that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When the prayer and dinner are both ready, start with dinner."

عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهَا تَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَحَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 935)

أَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ إذا قرب العشاء فابدؤُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُصَلُّوا صَلاةَ الْمَغْرِبِ أَحْسِبُهُ قال ولاَ تعجلوا عَن عشائكم

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قال إذا قرب العشاء فابدؤُوا بالعشاء قبل صلاة المغرب

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قال إذا قرب العشاء وحضرت الصلاة فابدؤُوا بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُصَلُّوا صَلاةَ الْمَغْرِبِ

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعِشَاءُ وأقيمت الصلاة فابدأوا بِالْعَشَاءِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ حُمَيد عَن أَنَس إلاَّ الْمُعْتَمِرُ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If dinner is ready and the Iqamah for prayer is said, then start with dinner first."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 853)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَأُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ»

“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 935)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should pray in a garment that is not covering both of his shoulders."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يُصَلِّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ لَيْسَ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When the prayer and dinner time come together, start with dinner."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالْعَشَاءُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the dinner is served and the prayer is ready, start with it before the Maghrib prayer."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءَوا بِهِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ

[AI] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he said: "When the dinner is served and the prayer is established, start with the dinner." This is the wording of Ibn 'Iyaad.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ وَهَذَا لَفْظُ ابْنِ عِيَاضٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you has their dinner served and the prayer is established, start with your dinner and do not rush until you have finished it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا وُضِعَ عَشَاءُ أَحَدِكُمْ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ وَلَا تَعْجَلُوا حَتَّى يَفْرُغَ مِنْهُ

[AI] We used to play and have fun during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, from Jamm to Mina.

كُنَّا نُغَلِّسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ جَمْعٍ إِلَى مِنًى

“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 935)

"إِذَا أقِيمتْ الصَّلاةُ وَحَضَر العَشَاءُ فابْدءُوا بالعشَاءِ" .

"إِذا حَضَرتِ الصَّلاةُ وَحَضَرَ العَشَاءُ فابدَءوا بالعَشَاء" .

“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 935)

"إِذا حَضَرت العَشاءُ وأقيمتَ الصلاة فابدءوا بالعَشاءِ" .

"إِذا حَضَرتِ الصلاةُ والخلاءُ فابدءوا بالخلاءِ".
