That Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah will not look on the Day of Judgment at him who drags his robe (behind him) out of pride." Abu Bakr said "One side of my robe slacks down unless I get very cautious about it." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "But you do not do that with a pride."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلاَءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّىْ ثَوْبِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلاَّ أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ تَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ خُيَلاَءَ قَالَ مُوسَى فَقُلْتُ لِسَالِمٍ أَذَكَرَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ قَالَ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ ذَكَرَ إِلاَّ ثَوْبَهُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah will not look at the person who drags his garment (behind him) out of conceit.''

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلاَءَ

The Prophet ﷺ said Allah will not look, on the Day of Resurrection at the person who drags his garment (behind him) out of conceit. On that Abu Bakr said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! One side of my Izar hangs low if I do not take care of it." The Prophet ﷺ said, 'You are not one of those who do that out of conceit."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلاَءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّىْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلاَّ أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُهُ خُيَلاَءَ

Allah will not look upon him who trails his garment out of pride.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلاَءَ

He who trails his (lower) garment out of pride, Allah will not look toward him on the Day of Resurrection.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي يَجُرُّ ثِيَابَهُ مِنَ الْخُيَلاَءِ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

He who trailed his garment out of pride, Allah would not look toward him on the Day of Resurrection.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ مِنَ الْخُيَلاَءِ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: If anyone trails his garment arrogantly, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection. Then Abu Bakr said: One of the sides of my lower garment trails, but still I remain careful about it. He said: You are not one of those who do so conceitedly.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلاَءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِنَّ أَحَدَ جَانِبَىْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِنِّي لأَتَعَاهَدُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ قَالَ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَفْعَلُهُ خُيَلاَءَ

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "On the day of judgement, Allah will not look at one who arrogantly drags his garment.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلاَءَ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Whoever drags his garment out of pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ أَوْ قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي يَجُرُّ ثَوْبَهُ مِنَ الْخُيَلاَءِ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

"I heard Ibn 'Umar narrating that the Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Whoever drags his garment out of vanity, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ مِنْ مَخِيلَةٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ لَمْ يَنْظُرْ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A person who drags his garment in arrogance will not be looked at by Allah on the Day of Rising."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ الَّذِي يَجُرُّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلاَءَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi and Abdullah ibn Dinar and Zayd ibn Aslam that all of them informed him from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On the Day of Rising, Allah will not look at a person who drags his garment in arrogance."

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever drags his garments out of pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection." Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what if someone's garment gets stuck or dirty, and he pulls it to fix it?" He replied, "I am not referring to someone who does it unintentionally."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ جَرَّ ثِيَابَهُ مِنَ الْخُيَلَاءِ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدُ ذَاكَ أَوْ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ قَالَ «لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُهُ خُيَلَاءَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection." Salim said, "My father narrated to me that Abu Bakr said to the Messenger of Allah, 'O Messenger of Allah, one of the corners of my garment slips down unless I pay attention to it.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'You are not one of those who do it out of arrogance.'"

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» قَالَ سَالِمٌ فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُ الْخُيَلَاءَ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ ؓ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَسْتَ أَوْ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُهُ خُيَلَاءَ

He who trails his (lower) garment out of pride, Allah will not look toward him on the Day of Resurrection. (Using translation from Muslim 2085c)

"إِنَّ الَّذى يَجُرُّ ثِيَابَهُ مِنَ الْخُيَلاءِ لا يَنْظُرُ اللهُ إِلَيْه يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ".

"مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوبَهُ خُيلَاءَ، لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللهُ إِلَيهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ".
