This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Safwan b. 'Abdullah b. Safwan with the same chain of transmitters.

وَقَالَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ

[AI] About Salim ibn Abdullah.

عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed me, Yusuf, and he wiped his hand over my head."

سَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوسُفَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِي

[AI] I heard Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Salam say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ named me Yusuf."

سَمِعْتُ يُوسُفَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ يَقُولُ سَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوسُفَ

[AI] I heard Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Salam say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made me sit in his room, and he wiped over my head and named me Yusuf."

سَمِعْتُ يُوسُفَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ يَقُولُ أَجْلَسَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجْرِهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِي وَسَمَّانِي يُوسُفَ

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his leather slippers (when doing wudoo’). (Using translation from Aḥmad 216)

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ

[AI] "And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiped his face."

وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ

"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over the Khimar and Khuff." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 106)

وَقَالَ سَلْمَانُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَعَلَى خِمَارِهِ

[AI] I heard Yusuf ibn Abdullah ibn Salam saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ named me Yusuf."

سَمِعْتُ يُوسُفَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ يَقُولُ سَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوسُفَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ

[AI] The translation of «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهِمَا» is: "The Messenger of Allahﷺ used to wipe over them."

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهِمَا» *

أَنَّ عَلِيًّا تَوَضَّأَ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَقَالَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى وُضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَهَكَذَا

قَالَ انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ

قال جاء الْفُقَرَاءُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

قالت كنت أغتسل أنا ورسول اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ واحد

قالت كنت أغتسل أنا ورسول اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ واحد

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهِمَا»

[AI] I heard Jarir ibn Abdullah say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never saw me except with a smile."

سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ «مَا رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا تَبَسَّمَ»

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ summoned me, Yusuf, and he made me sit in his chamber and he wiped over my head.

سَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوسُفَ وَاقْعَدَنِي فِي حِجْرِهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called me Yusuf.

سَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوسُفَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , appointed me as his companion, seated me in his chamber, and prayed for me with blessings.

سَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوسُفَ وَأَقْعَدَنِي فِي حِجْرِهِ وَدَعَا لِي بِالْبَرَكَةِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ named me.

سَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
