“I heard Anas bin Malik say: ‘We gave our pledge to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the basis that we would listen and obey. He ﷺ said: “As much as you can.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2868)

[Machine] I heard 'Attab bin Hurmuz's mawla saying: I had traveled with Anas bin Malik in a boat, and I heard him saying, "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah with my hand and he pointed with his right hand to his ear and his obedience in all that I am capable of."

[Machine] I heard Ibn Umar saying, "When we pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him, he used to teach us to listen and obey as much as we were capable."

I gave the Pledge of allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ that I would listen and obey, and he told me to add: 'As much as I can, and will give good advice to every Muslim.' (Using translation from Bukhārī 7204)
