The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "If he becomes drunk, whip him; then if he becomes drunk, whip him; then if he becomes drunk, whip him." Then he said concerning the fourth time, "Strike his neck (i.e., kill him)."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said: If he is intoxicated, flog him; again if he is intoxicated, flog him; again if he is intoxicated, flog him if he does it again a fourth time, kill him. Abu Dawud said: And there is a similar tradition of Umar ibn AbuSalamah, from his father, on the authority of AbuHurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ: If he drinks wine, flog him if he does it so again, a fourth time, kill him. Abu Dawud said: And there is similar tradition of Suhail from Abu Salih on the authority of Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ: It they drink a fourth time, kill them. And there is similar tradition of Ibn Abi Nu'm on the authority of Ibn 'Umar from Prophet ﷺ. There is also similar tradition of 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr from the Prophet ﷺ, and from Sharid from the Prophet ﷺ. And in the tradition of al-Jadli from Mu'awiyah, the Prophet ﷺ said: If he does so again third or fourth time, kill him.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ

“If he gets drunk, then whip him. If he does it again, then whip him. If he does it again, then whip him.' And he said concerning the fourth time: 'If he does it again, then strike his neck (i.e., execute him).' ”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If someone becomes intoxicated, flog him. If he becomes intoxicated a second time, flog him. If he does it a third time, then strike his neck." Al-Zuhri narrated that a man who was intoxicated for the third time was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he let him go.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِرَجُلٍ سَكْرَانَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever drinks alcohol, then whip him. If he repeats, then whip him. If he repeats for the third time, then strike his neck (i.e. kill him).

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ»

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, "If someone drinks alcohol, flog him. If he does it again, flog him. If he does it again, flog him. And if he does it a fourth time, then kill him." And this wording is from 'Amr.

"إِذا سَكِرَ فاجْلدُوه ثم إن سَكِرَ فاجلدوه (ثُمّ إِنْ سَكِر فاجلدوه) فإِنْ عادَ الرابعةَ فاقْتلُوه".
