“If he gets drunk, then whip him. If he does it again, then whip him. If he does it again, then whip him.' And he said concerning the fourth time: 'If he does it again, then strike his neck (i.e., execute him).' ”

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "If he becomes drunk, whip him; then if he becomes drunk, whip him; then if he becomes drunk, whip him." Then he said concerning the fourth time, "Strike his neck (i.e., kill him)."

The Prophet ﷺ said: If he is intoxicated, flog him; again if he is intoxicated, flog him; again if he is intoxicated, flog him if he does it again a fourth time, kill him. Abu Dawud said: And there is a similar tradition of Umar ibn AbuSalamah, from his father, on the authority of AbuHurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ: If he drinks wine, flog him if he does it so again, a fourth time, kill him. Abu Dawud said: And there is similar tradition of Suhail from Abu Salih on the authority of Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ: It they drink a fourth time, kill them. And there is similar tradition of Ibn Abi Nu'm on the authority of Ibn 'Umar from Prophet ﷺ. There is also similar tradition of 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr from the Prophet ﷺ, and from Sharid from the Prophet ﷺ. And in the tradition of al-Jadli from Mu'awiyah, the Prophet ﷺ said: If he does so again third or fourth time, kill him.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If someone drinks alcohol, flog him. If he repeats, flog him. If he repeats again, flog him. If he repeats once more, kill him."

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever drinks alcohol, then flog him; if he repeats it, then flog him; if he repeats it again, then flog him; if he repeats it for the fourth time, then kill him."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If someone becomes intoxicated, flog him. If he becomes intoxicated a second time, flog him. If he does it a third time, then strike his neck." Al-Zuhri narrated that a man who was intoxicated for the third time was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he let him go.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِرَجُلٍ سَكْرَانَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "If someone drinks alcohol, flog him. If he repeats, flog him again. On the fourth time, kill him."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَقَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاقْتُلُوهُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If someone drinks alcohol, flog him. If he repeats it, flog him again. If he does it a third time, flog him. If he repeats it for the fourth time, kill him." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about this in his summary.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاقْتُلُوهُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "If any one of you drinks wine, then give him lashes. If he does it again, then give him lashes. If he does it again for the third time, then kill him."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا شَرِبَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاقْتُلُوهُ»
[Machine] As for the narration from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding alcohol, it is reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever drinks alcohol, then flog him, and if he repeats it, then flog him, and if he repeats it again, then flog him. If he does it for the fourth time, then kill him."
وَأَمَّا حَدِيثُ النَّضْرِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ»
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Whoever drinks wine, whip him, and whoever repeats it, whip him. And if he does it again, kill him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ رَبَّعَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whomever drinks alcohol, flog him; and if he repeats it, flog him again; and if he repeats it again, flog him again; and if he repeats it for the fourth time, kill him."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ»

"مَنْ شَرِبَ الخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ الثَّالِثَةَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ الرابعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ".

"عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أنَّ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ قَالَ: مَنْ شَرِبَ الخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فِى الرَّابِعَةِ فَاقْتُلُوهُ".
"عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ : مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ، فَاقْتُلُوهُ".
