12. Remaing Anṣār (4/28)
١٢۔ تتمة مسند الأنصار ص ٤
[Machine] The following passage is translated into English: "Once, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was walking in extreme heat, his sandal strap broke. A man came to him with a sandal strap and he placed it on his sandal. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'If only you knew the weight of what you have carried for the Messenger of Allah, you would not walk at all carrying something for the Messenger of Allah.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting in the mosque, and they thought that he was being visited, so they shortened their distance from him. Then Abu Dharr came and placed himself next to him. The Prophet ﷺ faced him and said, "O Abu Dharr, have you prayed today?" He replied, "No." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Stand up and pray." After he performed four units of Duha prayer, the Prophet ﷺ approached him and said, "O Abu Dharr, seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the devils among the jinn and the humans." Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, do humans also have devils?" He replied, "Yes, there are devils among humans and jinns, and they inspire each other with false embellished speech." Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Abu Dharr, shall I not teach you a word from the treasures of Paradise?" Abu Dharr said, "Yes, may Allah make me your ransom." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Say 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (There is no power or strength except with Allah)." Abu Dharr said, "I said, 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah'." Then the Prophet ﷺ fell silent, so I hesitated to speak. Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, we were people of ignorance and idol worship. Then Allah sent you as a mercy to the worlds. What is your opinion on prayer?" He said, "It is the best thing that one can engage in. Whoever wants to perform a shorter prayer can do so, and whoever wants to extend it can do so." Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is your opinion on fasting?" He said, "It is a loan that will be fully compensated." Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is your opinion on charity?" He said, "It is multiplied and increased by Allah. Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, which type of charity is best?" He said, "A hidden charity to a deserving person, and a donation from what one can spare." Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, which of the revelations that were sent down to you is the greatest?" He said, "Ayat al-Kursi (The Throne Verse), Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence." (Quran 2:255) Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, which martyrs are the best?" He said, "Those whose blood is spilled and their horses are struck." Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, which slaves are the best?" He said, "Those who are highly valued by their owners and are highly paid." Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, which prophets were the first?" He said, "Adam." Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, was there a prophet before Adam?" He replied, "Yes, there was a speaking prophet whom Allah created with His own hand and then breathed into him His spirit. Then He said to him, 'O Adam, go and greet those people.' He said, 'Peace be upon you.'" Then Abu Dharr said, "O Messenger of Allah, how many prophets' nations were fulfilled?" He replied, "One hundred and twenty-four thousand prophets, among them three hundred and fifteen messengers."

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ passed by a man who was reciting "Say, He is Allah, the One" [Surah Al-Ikhlas, verse 1]. The Prophet said, "This [recitation] has made Paradise obligatory for him or Paradise has been made obligatory for him."
[Machine] During the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up while Muradif Ibn Abbas was riding on a small camel named Adam. He said, "O people, acquire knowledge before knowledge is taken away, and before knowledge is lifted up." Allah has revealed: "O you who have believed, do not ask about things that, if they are shown to you, will distress you. But if you ask about them while the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be shown to you. Allah has pardoned that. And Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing." (Quran 5:101). He said, "So we disliked asking him many questions and feared his anger until Allah revealed to His Prophet ﷺ . He said, "We came to a bedouin and spread our cloak for him." He said, "Cover yourself with it until I see the whiteness of the cold coming out of your forehead." He said, "Then we said to him: Ask the Prophet ﷺ ." He said, "So he said to him, 'O Prophet of Allah, how will knowledge be lifted from us while the Qur'ans are between us and have learned from them and taught our women and children and servants?' He said, 'Then the Prophet ﷺ lifted his head and his face turned red with anger. He said, 'O son of your mother, may you be ruined. These Jews and Christians have not spent their days and nights clinging to any of the words that their prophets brought to them. Verily, one of the signs of the disappearance of knowledge is that its bearers will disappear three times.'"

[Machine] "We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition from his base camps. A man passed by a cave with some water in it. He thought to himself that he should stay in that cave and survive on the water and the nearby vegetation, and abandon worldly life. Then he said, 'If I mention this to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ , and he permits me, I will do it; otherwise, I will not.' So he went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Prophet of Allah, I passed by a cave with water and vegetation that can sustain me. My heart is inclined to stay there and abandon worldly life.' The Prophet ﷺ replied, 'Certainly, I have not been sent with Judaism or Christianity, but I have been sent with the tolerant, upright Hanif religion. By the One who holds the soul of Muhammad in His hand, staying one morning or one evening in the path of Allah is better than the world and whatever it contains. And the position of one of you in the row during prayer is better than his prayer for sixty years.'"

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by a place on a very hot day, heading towards the burial ground of Baqi' al-Gharqad. The people were walking behind him. When he heard the sound of sandals and realized that the people were following him, he stopped and waited for them to catch up, in order to prevent any sense of arrogance from entering his heart. When he passed by two graves in Baqi' al-Gharqad, he stood before them and asked, "Who are buried here today?" They replied, "O Messenger of Allah, so and so and so and so." He said, "They are now being punished and tested in their graves." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, why is that?" He said, "One of them did not clean himself properly after urinating, and the other used to spread gossip and slander. He took a moist piece of palm leaf and tore it apart, then placed it on top of their graves." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you do that?" He said, "To lighten their punishment." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, until when will they be punished?" He said, "That is a matter unseen, known only to Allah." They said, "If not for the undue strain on our hearts or the increase in our conversation, we would have heard what you heard."

[Machine] On the authority of 'Amr ibn Malik al-Janbi, who said that Fadalah ibn 'Ubayd and 'Ubaidah ibn As-Samit narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When it is the Day of Resurrection and Allah is done with the judgment of creation, there will remain two men who will be ordered to enter the Hellfire. Then one of them will turn back and the Almighty will say to them, 'Bring him back,' so they will bring him back. He will be asked, 'Why did you turn back?' He will reply, 'I hoped that you would admit me to Paradise.' Then he will be ordered to be taken to Paradise, and it will be said to him, 'Indeed, Allah has given you until even if you would have fed the inhabitants of Paradise, it would not have decreased from what I have with me.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'When he is mentioned, joy is seen on his face.'"

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet, ﷺ , that he said: "There is no man who is entrusted with the command of ten or more people, except that he will come to Allah with his hands tied to his neck on the Day of Resurrection. Either his righteousness will release him, or his sins will immobilize him. The first part of it is advice, the middle part is regret, and the last part is shame on the Day of Resurrection."

Abu Umamah said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that those who seek the days of Allah should not delight in silk.'
