11. Chapter of Rā (Male) (8/8)
[Machine] About Ibn Shihab, regarding the naming of "those who were martyred on the day of Yamaama from the Ansar, then from the Aws, then from the Banu Amr ibn Awf, Rabah, the freed slave of Banu Juhjaba."
[Machine] When Islam appeared, we had a well in the Dunaynah area, and we were afraid that those around us would overpower us because of it. So, I went to the Prophet and mentioned this to him. He said, "I will write a letter for you from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. After that, if they are truthful, they have their well." He said, "We did not present our case to any of the judges of Madinah except that they ruled in our favor." He said, "And in the letter of the Prophet, it was written like this, and he claimed that this was how the letter of the Prophet was."
[Machine] I met several companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , one of whom was Riqad ibn Rabiah. He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took from us a hundred sheep as charity. If the number increased, he would take two sheep, no more."
[Machine] We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man came to him with a plate of dates. He said to him, "Is this a gift or charity?" The man replied, "It is charity." He said, "Then give it to the people." There was a young boy with him, who took a date and put it in his mouth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ noticed this and put his finger in the boy's mouth and took out the date. Then he threw it away and said, "We, the family of Muhammad, do not eat charity."
[Machine] He was with his grandfather when he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a young boy and found him unbuttoned.

They brought it to him and he forbade them from consuming intoxicants in these circumstances. So they returned to their land, which was the land of Tihamah, which was a hot land, and they felt extremely thirsty. They returned to him the following year with their charity and said, "O Messenger of Allah, you prohibited us from consuming these vessels, so we left them. This caused a great difficulty for us." [Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ wrote him a letter on red leather, and he patched his bucket with it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed, so he sent a military expedition, and they did not leave anyone or anything, not even the people or wealth, except they took it. He escaped naked on a horse and came to his daughter, who was married to Bani Hilal, and the assembly of the people was in the backyard of her house. He entered from behind the houses onto her. She said, "What is wrong with you?" He said, "All the evil that has come to your father, he has nothing left, not even people or wealth, except they took it." I said, "I have been invited to Islam, and she had already embraced Islam." He said, "So I threw a garment on him and he left." He came to him and there was a garment covering his head, it revealed his bottom, and when it covered his bottom, his head was uncovered. He said, "What do I see from you?" He said, "All the evil has befallen me." He repeated this to his daughter, and she said, "And I want Muhammad before my wealth is divided." He said, "Take my riding animal." He said, "I have no need for it, but give me the saddle." So he took it and went to the Prophet ﷺ when he was praying Fajr, and when he finished his prayer, he said, "Stretch out your hand, O Abu Ayub, so I may pledge allegiance to you." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stretched out his hand, but when he intended to strike it with his hand, Abu Ayub withdrew his hand. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did this repeatedly. Then he approached him and said, "Who are you?" He said, "I am a shepherd from the Sahimi tribe." So the Prophet ﷺ held his arm and lifted him from the ground and said, "Here is Abu Ayub. I wrote him a letter and he patched his bucket with it." Abu Ayub said, "About my wealth and children?" He said, "As for your wealth, it has been divided, but as for your children and family members, whoever you find among them." So he left and when he returned, his son recognized him. He then went back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "This is my son." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Bilal, "Go out with him, and if he claims he is his son, give him to him." So he went out with him and said, "This is my son," and he gave him to him. He returned to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "He mentioned that he is his son, and I did not see any of them hesitate to his companion." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "That is the ignorance of the Bedouins."
