The Prophet ﷺ deputed me to read the Army of Dhat-as-Salasil. I came to him and said, "Who is the most beloved person to you?" He said, " ʿAisha." I asked, "Among the men?" He said, "Her father." I said, "Who then?" He said, "Then ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab." He then named other men.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ فَقَالَ أَبُوهَا قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَعَدَّ رِجَالاً

I asked my father (ʿAli bin Abi Talib), "Who are the best people after Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He said, "Abu Bakr." I asked, "Who then?" He said, "Then ʿUmar. " I was afraid he would say "Uthman, so I said, "Then you?" He said, "I am only an ordinary person.

قُلْتُ لأَبِي أَىُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ عُمَرُ وَخَشِيتُ أَنْ يَقُولَ عُثْمَانُ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَنْتَ قَالَ مَا أَنَا إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

Who amongst people are dearest to you? He said: A'isha. He then said: Who amongst men? He said: Her father, and I said: And who next? He said: Umar. He then enumerated some other men.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ عُمَرُ فَعَدَّ رِجَالاً

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed him as a leader of the army of Dhatis-Salasil. He said: "So I went to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who is the most beloved to you among the people?' He said: ''Aishah.' I said: 'From the men?' He said: 'Her father.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

that he said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "Who is the most beloved of the people to you?" He said: "'Aishah." He said: "From the men?" He said: "Her farther."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قَالَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ قَيْسٍ

"It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who is the most beloved of the people to you?' He said: ''Aishah.' It was said: 'From the men?' He said: 'Her father.'"

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قِيلَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَنَسٍ

"It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which of the people is most beloved to you?' He said: "Aishah.' It was asked, 'And among men?' He said: 'Her father.'"

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قِيلَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلَاسِلِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِأَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قَالَ قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَ أَبُوهَا إِذًا قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ عُمَرُ قَالَ فَعَدَّ رِجَالًا

[AI] I asked Aisha, "Who was the most beloved person to the Messenger of Allah?" She replied, "His father."

قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ فَمِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَتْ أَبُوهَا

[AI] I asked Aisha, "Who were the most beloved people to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him?" She replied, "Abu Bakr, then Umar, then Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah."

قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ «أَبُو بَكْرٍ ثُمَّ عُمَرُ ثُمَّ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ»

[AI] I entered with my aunt to Aisha, and she was asked which person was the most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? She said, "Fatimah." It was then asked, "And among the men?" She said, "Her husband, if what I know of him is true, he was a strong and devoted worshipper."

دَخَلْتُ مَعَ عَمَّتِي عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسُئِلَتْ أَيُّ النَّاسِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ «فَاطِمَةُ» قِيلَ فَمَنِ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَتْ «زَوْجُهَا إِنْ كَانَ مَا عَلِمْتُهُ صَوَّامًا قَوَّامًا»

[AI] I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who among the people do you love the most?" He said, "Aisha." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, among the men?" He said, "Her father, Abu Bakr." I asked, "Then who?" He said, "Then Umar ibn al-Khattab."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَ «أَبُوهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ»

[AI] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, who among the people do you love the most?" He said, "Aisha." It was asked, "Among the men?" He said, "Abu Bakr." It was asked again, "Then who?" He said, "Umar." It was asked, "Then who?" He said, "Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah."

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ» قِيلَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَ «أَبُو بَكْرٍ» قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «عُمَرُ» قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ «

[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, who do you love the most among the people?" He said, "Aisha." So I said, "I do not mean women, but rather men." He said, "Abu Bakr" or he said, "her father."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ» فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي لَسْتُ أَعْنِي النِّسَاءَ إِنَّمَا أَعْنَى الرِّجَالَ فَقَالَ «أَبُو بَكْرٍ» أَوْ قَالَ «أَبُوهَا»

[AI] I entered with my aunt to Aisha and I said, "O mother of the believers, who was the most beloved person to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" She said, "Fatimah."

دَخَلْتُ مَعَ عَمَّتِي عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ «فَاطِمَةُ»

"It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which of the people is most beloved to you?' He said: "Aishah.' It was asked, 'And among men?' He said: 'Her father.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 101)

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ» قَالَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ «أَبُو بَكْرٍ»

[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, who are the people you love the most?" He said, "And why?" I said, "I want to love whoever you love." He said, "Aisha."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «وَلِمَ؟» قُلْتُ لِأُحِبَّ مَنْ تُحِبُّ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ»

"It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which of the people is most beloved to you?' He said: "Aishah.' It was asked, 'And among men?' He said: 'Her father.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 101)

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ» قُلْتُ لَيْسَ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ قَالَ «أَبُوهَا»

"أحبُّ النَّساء إِلىَّ عائشة، ومن الرجال أبوها" .

"عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِى ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ: عَائِشَةُ، قَالَ: إِنَّمَا يَعْنِى مِنَ الرِّجَال؟ قَالَ: أبُوهَا" .

"عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ: قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ الله: أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ: عَائِشَةُ، قَالَ: مِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَ: أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ: أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ".
