Who amongst people are dearest to you? He said: A'isha. He then said: Who amongst men? He said: Her father, and I said: And who next? He said: Umar. He then enumerated some other men.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ عُمَرُ فَعَدَّ رِجَالاً
Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent ʿAmr bin Al As as the commander of the troops of Dhat-us-Salasil. ʿAmr bin Al- ʿAs said, "(On my return) I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'Which people do you love most?' He replied, ʿAisha.' I said, 'From amongst the men?' He replied, 'Her father (Abu Bakr)'. I said, 'Whom (do you love) next?' He replied, "ʿUmar.' Then he counted the names of many men, and I became silent for fear that he might regard me as the last of them."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ عُمَرُ فَعَدَّ رِجَالاً فَسَكَتُّ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي فِي آخِرِهِمْ
The Prophet ﷺ deputed me to read the Army of Dhat-as-Salasil. I came to him and said, "Who is the most beloved person to you?" He said, " ʿAisha." I asked, "Among the men?" He said, "Her father." I said, "Who then?" He said, "Then ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab." He then named other men.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ فَقَالَ أَبُوهَا قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَعَدَّ رِجَالاً
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed him as a leader of the army of Dhatis-Salasil. He said: "So I went to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who is the most beloved to you among the people?' He said: ''Aishah.' I said: 'From the men?' He said: 'Her father.'"
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ أَبُوهَا هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

[Machine] I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who among the people do you love the most?" He said, "Aisha." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, among the men?" He said, "Her father, Abu Bakr." I asked, "Then who?" He said, "Then Umar ibn al-Khattab."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَ «أَبُوهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ»

اسْتَعْمَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلَاسِلِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ» قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَ «أَبُوهَا» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثم عُمَرُ» فَعَدَّ رِجَالًا قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بَعْضُ حُرُوفِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ لَمْ تَصِحَّ
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent ʿAmr b. al-ʿĀs leading the army of Dhāt ā-Salāsil. He said: I came to him and I said: Which people do you love most?' In the ḥadīth of Yaḥyá ˹he said˺: I said: O Messenger of Allah, who is your most beloved among the people? He responded: "ʿĀʾishah." I said: Among the men? He said, "Her father." I said: Then who? He said, "Then ʿUmar." And then he enumerated several men.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلَاسِلِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أِيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ وَفِي حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَ أَبُوهَا قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ عُمَرُ فَعَدَّ رِجَالًا
