ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذِهِ السُّنَّةَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ

O Allah, hurl curse upon the tribe of Lihyan and Ri'l aid Dhakwan and Usayya for they disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, (and for) Ghifar Allah has granted pardon and for the tribe of Aslam Allah has granted safety.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي صَلاَةٍ اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ بَنِي لِحْيَانَ وَرِعْلاً وَذَكْوَانَ وَعُصَيَّةَ عَصَوُا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ غِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللَّهُ  

0 Allah I curse the tribes of Lihyan, Ri'l, Dhakwan, and 'Usayya for they disobeyed Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. Allah pardoned (the tribe of) Ghifar and Allah granted protection to (the tribe of) Aslam  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي صَلاَةٍ اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ بَنِي لِحْيَانَ وَرِعْلاً وَذَكْوَانَ وَعُصَيَّةَ عَصَوُا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ غِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللَّهُ  

So far as the tribe of Ghifar is concerned, Allah had pardoned it, and Allah had granted protection to the tribe of Aslam, and as for the tribe of Usayya, It had disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, (and further said): O Allah! curse the tribe of Lihyan curse Ri'l, and Dhakwan, and then fell in prostration. It is after this that the cursing of the unbelievers got a sanction.  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ خُفَافُ بْنُ إِيمَاءٍ رَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ غِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللَّهُ وَعُصَيَّةُ عَصَتِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ بَنِي لِحْيَانَ وَالْعَنْ رِعْلاً وَذَكْوَانَ ثُمَّ وَقَعَ سَاجِدًا قَالَ خُفَافٌ فَجُعِلَتْ لَعْنَةُ الْكَفَرَةِ مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the dawn prayer with us. When he raised his head from the last rakah, he said, "May Allah curse Liyan, Ri'l, and Dukhwān, and the disobedient one who disobeys Allah and His Messenger. May Allah keep her under His peace and forgiveness." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrated. When he finished, he recited to the people and said, "O people, I did not say it, but Allah ﷻ said it."  

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الصُّبْحَ وَنَحْنُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الْآخِرَةِ قَالَ لَعَنَ اللهُ لِحْيَانًا وَرِعْلًا وَذَكْوَانَ وَعُصَيَّةَ عَصَتِ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ وَغِفَارٌ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا ثُمَّ وَقَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَاجِدًا فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَرَأَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي أَنَا لَسْتُ قُلْتُهُ وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَالَهُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed a prostration in prayer, then he raised his head and said: "Ghifār is the one for whom Allah forgave, and Aslam is the one for whom Allah granted peace. And ʿUṣayyah is the one who disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. O Allah, curse the Banī Laḥyān. O Allah, curse Riʿlān and Dhakwān." Then he raised his voice and performed a bow and prostrated saying: "Khufāf." Thus, the curse of disbelief was established for that reason.  

رَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ غِفَارٌ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ وَعُصَيَّةُ عَصَتِ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ اللهُمَّ الْعَنْ بَنِي لَحْيَانَ اللهُمَّ الْعَنْ رِعْلًا وَذَكْوَانَ ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ وَوَقَعَ سَاجِدًا قَالَخُفَافٌ فَجُعِلَتْ لَعْنَةُ الْكَفَرَةِ مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فِي صَلَاةٍ مِنَ الصَّلَوَاتِ فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ الْعَنْ لِحْيَانًا وَرِعْلًا وَذَكْوَانَ وَعُصَيَّةَ عَصَتِ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَغِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ»  

O Allah, hurl curse upon the tribe of Lihyan and Ri'l aid Dhakwan and Usayya for they disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, (and for) Ghifar Allah has granted pardon and for the tribe of Aslam Allah has granted safety. (Using translation from Muslim 2517)  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي صَلَاةٍ «اللهُمَّ الْعَنْ بَنِي لِحْيَانَ وَرِعْلًا وَذَكْوَانَ وَعُصَيَّةَ عَصَوْا اللهَ وَغِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prayed Fajr with us, and when he raised his head from the last rak'ah, he said: "May Allah curse Lihyan, Ri'l, Dhakwan, and 'Usayyah who disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. May Allah send His peace and forgiveness upon the one who follows the true path." Then he prostrated and after completing the prayer, he turned towards the people and said: "O people, I did not say this, but Allah said it."  

صَلَّى بِنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْفَجْرَ فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الْآخِرَةِ قَالَ «لَعَنَ اللهُ لِحْيَانًا وَرِعْلًا وَذَكْوَانَ وَعُصَيَّةَ عَصَتِ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ وَغِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا» ثُمَّ خَرَّ سَاجِدًا فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي لَسْتُ أَنَا قُلْتُ هَذَا وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَالَهُ»  

So far as the tribe of Ghifar is concerned, Allah had pardoned it, and Allah had granted protection to the tribe of Aslam, and as for the tribe of Usayya, It had disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, (and further said): O Allah! curse the tribe of Lihyan curse Ri'l, and Dhakwan, and then fell in prostration. خُفَافُ بْنُ إِيمَاءَ رَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ «غِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ وَعُصَيَّةُ عَصَتِ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ اللهُمَّ الْعَنْ بَنِي لِحْيَانَ وَرِعْلًا وَذَكْوَانَ» ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ وَقَعَ سَاجِدًا قَالَ خُفَافٌ فَجُعِلَتْ لَعْنَةُ الْكَفَرَةِ مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] He said, "Khuwafah ibn Ima'ah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed a ruku' (bowing) and then raised his head and said, "O Allah, you have forgiven her (referring to a woman named Ghifarah) and granted her peace. Allah and His Messenger have disobeyed her. O Allah, curse Banu Lahyan, Ri'ilan, and Dhakwan." Then he went down into prostration. Khalid said, "Because of this incident, the curse of Allah was placed upon the disbelievers."  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ خُفَافُ بْنُ إِيمَاءٍ رَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ غِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ وَعُصَيَّةُ عَصَتِ اللهِ وَرَسُولَهُ اللهُمَّ الْعَنْ بَنِي لَحْيَانَ وَالْعَنْ رِعْلًا وَذَكْوَانَ ثُمَّ خَرَّ سَاجِدًا قَالَ خَالِدٌ فَجُعِلَتْ لَعْنَةُ اللهِ الْكَفَرَةَ لِأَجْلِ ذَلِكَ
