"اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَميِّتِنَا ، وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا، وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا وَذَكَرنَا وَأُنْثَانَا، اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِه عَلَى الإِسْلامِ، وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفِّهُ علَى الإِيِمانِ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أجْرَهُ، وَلَا تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ".

“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered the funeral prayer he would say: ‘Allahummaghfir lihayyina wa mayyitina, wa shahidina wa gha’ibina, wa saghirina wa kabirina, wa dhakarina wa unthana. Allahumma man ahyaitahu minna fa'ahyihi ‘alal-Islam, wa man tawaffaytahu minna fa tawaffahu ‘alal- iman. Allahumma la tahrimna ajrahu wa la tudillana ba’dah. [O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those who are present and those who are absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whomever of us You cause to live, let him live in Islam, and whomever of us You cause to die, let him die in (a state of) faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward, and do not let us go astray after him].’”

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to say the following supplication when praying for the deceased: "O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those who are present and those who are absent, our males and our females, our young and our old." Yahya said that Abu Salama bin Abdul Rahman narrated this hadith from the Prophet ﷺ and added: "O Allah, whoever of us you keep alive, let him live in Islam, and whoever of us you cause to die, let him die in faith."

[Machine] "He (the Prophet ﷺ) witnessed a funeral and heard him (the deceased) say, 'O Allah! Forgive our living and our dead, and our present and our absent, and our young and our old, and our males and our females.' Abu Salama narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said these eight words, and added two more: 'Whoever you revive among us, revive them on Islam, and whoever you cause to die among us, let them die upon faith.'"

Yahya said, and Abu Salamah added to it, "O Allah, whoever among us you cause to live, make him live according to Islam, and whoever among us you cause to die, let him die upon faith."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, our present and our absent, our males and our females, those of us who You have given life to, grant them life upon Islam, and those of us whom You have caused to die, cause them to die upon faith. O Allah, forgive them, forgive them."

[Machine] "Aisha, the mother of the believers, how was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon the deceased?" She said, "He would say, 'O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, our males and our females, our absent and our present, our young and our old. O Allah, whoever among us You keep alive, keep him alive on Islam, and whoever among us You cause to die, let him die on iman (faith).' It was narrated by Hammam ibn Yahya from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir from Abdullah ibn Abi Qatadah from his father and from Yahya from Abu Salamah, in addition to Abu Hurairah not being mentioned."

"اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِر لأولنا وآخِرنَا، وَحيِّنَا وميِّتِنَا، وذَكَرنَا وأُنثانَا، وصَغيرنَا وكَبيرنَا، وَشَاهدنَا وَغَائِبنا، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرمْنَا أَجْرَهُ، وَلَا تُضلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ" .
