Uthmān ibn Abī al-ʿĀṣ called for some milk for him to drink, but Muṭarrif said, I am fasting. Uthmān said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Fasting is a shield, like the shield of one of you in battle."

أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ دَعَا لَهُ بِلَبَنٍ لِيَسْقِيَهُ فَقَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ».

"I entered upon 'Uthman bin Abi Al-As and he called for milk. I said: I am fasting; He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Fasting is a shield like the of any one of you in battle."' Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Sahih

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ

“I am fasting.” ‘Uthman said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Fasting is a shield against the Fire just like the shield of anyone of you against fighting.’”

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللهِ كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ وَصِيَامٌ حَسَنٌ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْعَجْوَةُ وَالصَّخْرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْعَجْوَةُ وَالصَّخْرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ لَتَمَنَّيْتُهُ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: The tale-bearer shall not enter Paradise. (Using translation from Muslim 105a)

َقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ نَمَّامٌ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الْعَجْوَةُ وَالصَّخْرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ»
