“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting on a Friday unless it (is joined to) the day before or the day after.”  

ابن ماجة:١٧٢٣ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وَحَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلاَّ بِيَوْمٍ قَبْلَهُ أَوْ يَوْمٍ بَعْدَهُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَصُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَصُومَ قَبْلَهُ أَوْ يَصُومَ بَعْدَهُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: None of you must fast on Friday unless he fasts the day before or the day after.  

أبو داود:٢٤٢٠ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَصُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَصُومَ قَبْلَهُ بِيَوْمٍ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ  

ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ صَوْمَ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ مُبَاحٌ إِذَا صَامَ الْمَرْءُ مَعَهُ الْخَمِيسَ أَوِ السَّبْتَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: None of you must fast on Friday unless he fasts the day before or the day after. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2420)  

ابن حبّان:٣٦١٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
