Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the Imam, during the prayer, says, "Allah hears him who praises Him', say: 'O Allah! Our Lord! All the praises are for You/, for if the saying of anyone of you coincides with the saying of the angels, his past sins will be forgiven."

سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ وَلَكِنْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ
Messenger of Allah said: "When the Imam says: (Sami Allahu liman hamidah) 'Allah listens to those who praise Him. Then (all of you) say: (Rabbana wa lakal-hamd) 'O our Lord! And to You is the praise for whoever's saying concurs with the saying of the angels, then his past sins will be forgiven."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا وَإِذَا قَرَأَ فَأَنْصِتُوا وَإِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَقُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When the Imam says: 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears the one who praises Him),' then say: 'Rabbana wa lakal-hamd,' (Our Lord, and to You be the praise).' Whoever says that and it coincides with the angels saying it, his previous sins will be forgiven."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Sumayy, the mawla of Abu Bakr, from Abu Salih as-Samman from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the imam says, 'Allah hears whoever praises Him,' say 'O Allah! Our Lord, praise be toYou, 'for the previous wrong actions done by the one whose utterance coincides with that of the angels are forgiven."

"إذا قال الإمامُ: سمع الله لمنْ حمده فقُولُوا: اللَّهمُ ربنا لك الحمدُ، فإِنّه من وافق قَوْلُه قَوْلَ الملائكةِ غُفِرَ له ما تقدَّم منْ ذنبه".
“When the Imam says: ‘Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him),’ say: ‘Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (O our Lord, to You is the praise).’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 876)
"إذَا قال الإمامُ سَمِعَ الله لمِنْ حمِده فقولوا: اللهُمَّ ربّنا ولَك الحمدُ".
"إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الإِمام لِيُؤْتَمَّ به، فإذا كبَّرَ فكبِّروا، وإِذَا قَرَأَ فأَنْصِتُوا وإِذا قال: سمِع اللَّه لمن حمد فقولوا: ربَّنَا لك الحمدُ ".
"عن عليٍّ أَنَّهُ كانَ إِذَا قَالَ: سَمِعَ الله لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، قَالَ: رَبنا وَلَكَ الحَمْدُ، اللَّهمَّ بِحَوْلِكَ وَقُوَّتِكَ أَقُومُ وَأَقْعُدُ".
"عَنِ ابْن عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَالَ: سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَه، قَالَ: "اللَّهُمَّ رَبّنا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْء السَّمَواتِ وَالأَرْض وَمِلْء مَا شئْتَ منْ شَىْءٍ بَعْدُ".
"عَنِ ابْن مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: إِذَا قَالَ الإِمَامُ: سَمعَ الله لِمَنْ حَمدَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ: رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ".
"عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمنْ حَمِدَهُ (*) ربنا لك الحمد".
"عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ: أنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ وَهُوَ إِمَامُ النَّاسِ فيِ الصَّلاةِ يَقُولُ: سَمِعَ الله لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، اللَّهُمَ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ".
