2. Book of Ṣalāh
I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he said the opening Takbir of the prayer, raise his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he said the Takbir before bowing he did likewise, and when he said: 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him),' he did likewise, then he said: 'Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (Our Lord, to You be praise).' But he did not do that when he prostrated or when he raised his head from prostration. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 876)
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Our Lord, to You be all praises."
Note: The Arabic phrase "عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ" is a common phrase used before narrating a saying of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . It translates to "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ ."
“When the Imam says: ‘Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him),’ say: ‘Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (O our Lord, to You is the praise).’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 876)
The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Imam is to be followed. Say the Takbir when he says it; bow if he bows; if he says 'Samiʿa l-lahu liman hamidah', say, ' Rabbana wa laka l-hamd', prostrate if he prostrates and pray sitting altogether if he prays sitting." (Using translation from Bukhārī 734)
[Machine] He said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us and taught us our prayers and Sunnah. He said, 'I reckon that he said, "When the prayer is established, one of you should lead the prayer. When he says 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest), then say 'Allahu Akbar' too. And when he recites 'Not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray' [Surah Al-Fatiha, verse 7], then say 'Ameen,' for Allah will respond to you. And when he says 'Allahu Akbar' and bows, then say 'Allahu Akbar' and bow too, for indeed, the Imam bows before you and raises before you." The Prophet ﷺ said, 'And this is like that.' And when he says 'Allah hears whoever praises Him,' then say 'Our Lord, to You is the praise.' Or he said, 'Our Lord, to You is the praise.' For indeed, Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, said on the tongue of His Prophet, 'Allah hears whoever praises Him.'"
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head after bowing, he said: O Allah! our Lord, to Thee be the praise that would fill all the heavens and the earth, and all that it pleases Thee besides (them). O, thou art worthy of praise and glory, most worthy of what a servant says, and we all are Thy servants, no one can withhold what Thou givest or give what Thou withholdest, and riches cannot avail a wealthy person against Thee. (Using translation from Muslim 477)
[Machine] The translation into English is as follows:
"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would raise his head from bowing, he would say, 'Allah hears whoever praises Him. Our Lord, all praise is due to You, filling the heavens, filling the earth, filling whatever is between them, and filling whatever You will after that.' It was asked to Abdullah, 'Do you hold on to it?' He said, 'No.' And it was asked to him, 'Do you say this in obligatory prayers?' He said, 'Perhaps.' And he said, 'All of it is good.'"
